CS143 – Tropical Leaf

Welcome to Create with Stamping Friends Creatively Simple Challenge!  Each month Debbie and I will pick a theme for our simple cards.  This month the theme is “Appreciation”.

TROPICAL LEAF

I’m behind, but finally getting my stamp drawers cleared out of retiring product!  While doing so I saw my Tropical Leaf stamp set and punch (online exclusive) and realized I hadn’t used it in a while…so came up with the card for my Creatively Simple appreciation card this week!  I did pair it with the new To Market Designer Paper!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Flirty Flamingo cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • A 1-1/4 x 4 piece of To Market DSP was added to the bottom of a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic White and added to the base card.
  • The greeting was stamped above the DSP with Garden Green Ink.
  • I did the baby wipe technique using Garden Green and Flirty Flamingo Inks as my ink pad and stamped the leaf three times on Basic White cardstock.  I ended up coloring with Dark Soft Sea Foam Stampin’ Blends to fill in a couple spots.  They were punched with the Tropical Leaf Punch and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • A trio of green Transparent Adhesive Backed Dots were added to the background.
  • Some Linen Thread was tied in a bow and added to the top of the middle leaf.

It’s Thursday and you know that means it is time for a Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge.  The month of July we do our Case the Catalog Challenges!  These are always fun, and we love to see what the Challenge Team comes up with!  They can copy the color combo, the stamp set, the layout…or any combination of the above!  Lots of creative expression.

HORSE & SLEIGH

I’m using a brand-new Online Exclusive called Horse & Sleigh stamp set with dies.  Of course, I love the horse and sleigh which is the primary focus of this set…but there are a couple fun trees in this set that shouldn’t be left out!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Cherry Cobbler cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
  • The  3-3/4 x 4-3/4 piece of Basic White cardstock was stamped with the large tree in Mossy Meadow Ink.  The trunk was colored with Light & Dark Pecan Pie Stampin’ Blends.
  • The “snow bank” was cut twice from Basic White cardstock using the smaller die, then cut apart and added to the base of the trees.
  • The greeting from Horse & Sleigh stamp set was stamped with Cherry Cobbler Ink on 3/4 x 5-1/4 piece of Basic White cardstock, then layered on a 1/4 x 5-1/4 piece of Cherry Cobbler cardstock and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Some silver Simply Elegant Trim was tied in a bow and added to the tree on the right.
