Welcome to Create with Stamping Friends Creatively Simple Challenge!  Each month Debbie and I will pick a theme for our simple cards.  This month the theme is “Appreciation”.

TROPICAL LEAF

I’m behind, but finally getting my stamp drawers cleared out of retiring product!  While doing so I saw my Tropical Leaf stamp set and punch (online exclusive) and realized I hadn’t used it in a while…so came up with the card for my Creatively Simple appreciation card this week!  I did pair it with the new To Market Designer Paper!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Flirty Flamingo cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • A 1-1/4 x 4 piece of To Market DSP was added to the bottom of a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic White and added to the base card.
  • The greeting was stamped above the DSP with Garden Green Ink.
  • I did the baby wipe technique using Garden Green and Flirty Flamingo Inks as my ink pad and stamped the leaf three times on Basic White cardstock.  I ended up coloring with Dark Soft Sea Foam Stampin’ Blends to fill in a couple spots.  They were punched with the Tropical Leaf Punch and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • A trio of green Transparent Adhesive Backed Dots were added to the background.
  • Some Linen Thread was tied in a bow and added to the top of the middle leaf.

 

 

How easy is that?  I think it took me longer to figure out which colors to use than it did to make the card!  Check out Debbie’s new Creatively Simple card over on Create with Stamping Friends!

It’s Thursday and you know that means it is time for a Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge. It’s a fun sketch this week!

TROPICAL LEAF

Tropical Leaf Bundle is an Online Exclusive that I really like!  The punches make this card quick and easy!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Pretty Peacock cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
  • A 3-1/4 x 4-3/4 piece of Hello Irresistible Designer Paper (Online Exclusive)was added to the background with another 2-3/4 x 4-1/4 piece of coordinating Hello Irresistible Designer Paper added at an angle on top.
  • Two of the monster leaves from Tropical Leaf stamp set (Online Exclusive) were stamped OFF with Pretty Peacock Ink and the veins full-strength Pretty Peacock Ink on Basic White cardstock.  They were punched with the Tropical Leaf Punch (Online Exclusive) and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The greeting from Tropical Leaf stamp set was stamped with Pretty Peacock Ink on a 7/8 x 3-1/2 piece of Basic White cardstock and adhered on the front.
  • The flower from Petal Park Builder Punch was punched from Daffodil Delight and sponged with Calypso Coral Ink, then added to the leaf with Stampin’ Dimensional.
  • A trio of gold Adhesive Backed Pastel Sequins were added to the flower and background.

It’s Thursday and you know that means it is time for a Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge.  This turned out to be a very fun sketch to use this week!

TROPICAL LEAF

Here’s another new Online Exclusive Bundle from Stampin’ Up! called Tropical Leaf!  It has a stamp set and coordinating punch!  I’ve always loved monstera leaves and saw PLENTY of them in Maui a couple years ago on Stampin’ Up!’s Incentive Trip when we took the Road to Hana!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Parakeet Party cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • A 3 x 4-1/4 piece of Basic White cardstock was stamped off using Shaded Spruce Ink with the smaller monstera leaf randomly all over.  The leaf veins were stamped with full strength Shaded Spruce Ink on top.
  • The speckle stamp from Irresistible Blooms was stamped randomly with Parakeet Party Ink all over the background.
  • The Basic White panel was added to two 2 x 2-3/4 panels of Flowers & More Designer Paper (Host), then adhered to the front.
  • A 1/2 x 4 strip of Shaded Spruce cardstock was added across the front.
  • The greeting was stamped with Shaded Spruce Ink and cut with the Painted Labels Dies.  It was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The larger monstera leaf was stamped with Shaded Spruce Ink on Parakeet Party cardstock and the veins with Memento Black Ink.  It was punched with the Tropical Leaf Punch and added under the greeting with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • A trio of black Classic Matte Dots were added in the background.
