Such a pretty color combination we have for you this week over on Create with Connie and Mary! Grab your stamps and play along! Need more inspiration? Check out the Challenge Team's creations this week over there, too!

Well, you know I'm a girl that LOVES my flower stamps! I grabbed one that I haven't used for a while…Raining Flowers. I have a suspicion that it may be on the retiring list. No, I don't know for sure…so don't email me asking me how I know! lol! But, this color combo had GREEN in it, so my leaves this week are more like you find in nature! lol! And…this is the very last scrap of this striped pattern in Print Poetry that I had left! I struggled to come up with something that used such a small piece, but it was PERFECT for our Color Challenge this week!

OK…here are the details!

The base is 4 1/4 x 11 of Summer Starfruit, folded in hlf.
I added a 3 3/4 x 5 piece of Whisper White cardstock on top. On it, I stamped the berries looking image in Raining Flowers stamp set on the background with Midnight Muse Ink.
I also stamped the greeting from One in a Million stamp set with Midnight Muse in the lower left corner.
I added the 1 1/4 x 4 1/4 strip of Print Poetry Designer Paper, trimmed along the bottom with the Scallop Trim Border of Midnight Muse.
On scrap Whisper White, I stamped the flower in Summer Starfruit and cut it out. I stamped two of the small leaves with Gumball Green and also cut them out and tucked them behind the popped up flower on the front.
I stamped the smaller flower with Gumball Green, cut it out and placed in the center of the larger flower.
Finally, I punched a 1/2" Circle from a teeny tiny scrap of the designer paper and added it to the center of the flattened small soda pop top. Then added that to the very center of the flower.

LOVE it!!! I think it turned out pretty cool!

SC386 Crazy for Cupcakes

Wow! It has been a LONG time since I played along with a SCS sketch challenge! I really wanted to post a card on my blog today, so I went there to check it out.

Based on the sketch, I decided to flip it and use a retiring set, Crazy for Cupcakes! It worked out perfectly! I also used up some more of my Big Top Birthday Designer Paper! lol!

The base of the card is Whisper White. I layered on Tempting Turquoise. I cut the Big Top Birthday Designer Paper stripe for the bottom…love the bright cheerful colors in this DSP! Then I punched out a 2 1/2" Circle of the star pattern. I wrapped the Real Red Satin Ribbon around and tied a knot. (I'll be sad to see the Satin Ribbons go away…they are so easy to work with and tie.) I stamped the cupcake stand in Black Stazon on Whisper White and watercolored with my AquaPainter and Stampin' Write Markers in Real Red, Tempting Turquoise, Daffodil Delight and Basic Gray. I added the greeting across the top. As a final touch, I added a trio of Rhinestone Jewels around the circle.

Raining Flowers

We have a wonderful sketch for you to try over on Create with Connie and Mary this week! Super easy, so grab your stamps and play along! We show it square, but you can convert it to rectangle shape like I did!

I've had this set, Raining Flowers, since Convention last year and hadn't used or even mounted it. I really don't know WHY…it is a pretty set and was very easy to use!

When coming up with a color scheme, I used one of my favorites…navy and pink…using two different shades of pink! The base of the card is Night of Navy. I layered on Whisper White. I used the Night of Navy Patterns polka dot Designer Paper and added the Dotted Scallop Border Trim in Regal Rose along both edges. I wrapped some Rose Red Seam Binding Ribbon around and tied a knot.

The larger flower image in Raining Flowers was stamped in Rose Red on Whisper White and cut out. I stamped the smaller center flower in Regal Rose and cut out. I added a Navy button with White Bakers Twine tied in the center. The leaves are Pear Pizzazz cut out, too. Everything was placed with Stampin' Dimensionals on a 2 1/2" Circle Punch of Night of Navy…and that was popped up with dimensionals, too. Finally, I added three pearls along the edge of the circle and the Happy Birthday Wishes greeting from Petite Pairs in Night of Navy and cut in a flag edge.
