Saturday Blog Hop – Bye Bye

It’s Saturday and time for our Create with Stamping Friends Blog Hop. This week our theme is “Bye Bye”. So sad to see some of our favorite bundles retiring…we’ll feature our favorites this week!

ROCK STAR

There were MANY stamp sets I could have chosen, but I was really surprised that this Rock Star Bundle didn’t carry over from the Mini Catalog! It is perfect for teen or preteen. I especially bought it for my grandson who is 10! He loved his card! This card combines the retiring set with the NEW In Colors, Summer Splash and Peach Pie!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Summer Splash cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic Gray cardstock was stamped with the lightning image in Basic Gray Ink randomly around the background.
Two pieces of coordinating Rock & Roll Designer Paper were added to the background.
The large guitar pick was cut from Summer Splash cardstock with the Dies. It was stamped with the greeting in Memento Black Ink. It was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Two lightning bolts and the trio of stars were cut from Peach Pie cardstock with the Dies and added to the front.
A trio of Iridescent Rhinestones were added to the background.

Welcome to our Create with Connie and Mary Inspiration Monday challenges. This week’s inspiration challenge is a fun print!

ROCK STAR

I’ve used the colors in the print as the inspiration for my Rock Star card! Lots of black neutral prints in the Rock & Roll Designer Paper package!

Stampin’ Details:

- The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Blueberry Bushel cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
- The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic White was embossed with the Metal Plate Embossing Folder.
- The 2 x 4 piece of Rock & Roll DSP was added across the front.
- A coordinating Rock & Roll DSP, Garden Green c/s and Blueberry Bushel cardstock were all cut to 2-1/4 x 3-3/4, then the bottoms flag cut. They were offset and adhered together, then added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- The mike stand was stamped with Blueberry Bushel Ink and the greeting banner with Garden Green Ink, then cut with the Rock Star Dies and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- The stars were cut with the Dies from Blueberry Bushel and Garden Green cardstocks and added with Mini Glue Dots.

Saturday Blog Hop – Valentine Flip

It’s Saturday and time for our Create with Connie and Mary Blog Hop. This week our theme is “Valentine Flip”. We’ll be using a traditionally non-Valentine set and making it into a Valentine! I’m excited to see what our Design Team does with this challenge!

ROCK STAR

I purchased this bundle for my grandsons…the oldest one just had his birthday party at a recording studio! It was pretty cool…they taught them the melody on some instruments, then they got to sing and make a “demo” tape! I wanted to use pinks and reds on today’s card so I could use this DSP, but I’ll probably recreate it in black and red for his Valentine card this year.

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Poppy Parade cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
The 3-1/2 x 4-3/4 piece of Most Adored Designer Paper (SAB) was added diagonally across the front.
The guitar from Rock Star stamp set was stamped with Poppy Parade Ink on Basic White and cut with the Rock Star Die. It was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Be My Valentine from Throughout the Year Stamp Set was stamped with Poppy Parade Ink on 3/4 x 3 piece of Basic White and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Some hearts were cut for the background from Poppy Parade c/s with the Sending Love Dies and one cut from Flirty Flamingo c/s and added to the guitar.

Something for Baby T-shirt

Happy St. Patrick’s Day! Although not officially a St. Patrick’s Day card, it does have the color green in it! I’ve been wanting to cut the little onesie in the Something for Baby stamp set and turn it into a T-shirt! I decided to use the colors from our current Create with Connie and Mary color challenge (Wild Wasabi, Basic Black and Sahara Sand) to make this card! I also did the same technique with the Back to Black Designer Paper and Wild Wasabi Marker (hey…it was on my desk already!)

Here are the details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Wild Wasabi, folded in half.
On the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Sahara Sand, the stars image from Be the Star stamp set was stamped with Sahara Sand in the upper right and lower left corners.
A 3 1/4 x 4 piece of Back to Black Designer Paper was colored randomly with Wild Wasabi Marker and placed across the front.
A 2-1/2 circle was punched from Basic Black and placed on front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The onesie from Something for Baby was stamped with Wild Wasabi and cut out, then the bottom cut off to make the T-shirt. Rock Star from Be the Star stamp set was stamped with Tuxedo Black ink on top, then placed on the Basic Black circle with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The smallest star in the Star Framelits was cut from Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper and added to the front with another Stampin’ Dimensional.

Isn’t that fun? I think it is a great teen or pre-teen card!
