Our September Creatively Simple them is “Fall Flora”!  Stampin’ Up! has lots of fall theme bundles this year!  That makes me happy because I love the colors!

SIMPLY LEAVES

I know I’m dating myself…but do you remember when Stampin’ Up! had More Mustard and Elegant Eggplant in their lineup?  One of the first cards I made used those two colors and Old Olive for a sunflower card!  I was happy when one of the new In Colors included Golden Glow!  Not quite as brown as More Mustard…but pretty close!  And combined with Blackberry Bliss…it gives me that same happy feeling!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Thick Basic White cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Golden Glow cardstock was added on top.
  • A 2 x 5-1/4 strip of Sunflower Fields DSP was added down the center.
  • The Everyday Arches was cut with the die from Basic White cardstock and the greeting stamped with Blackberry Bliss Ink towards the bottom.  It was popped up on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The gingham leaf from Simply Leaves was stamped five times with Golden Glow Ink on Basic White cardstock and hand-cut, then added in a circle on the arch using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Two leaves were stamped with Old Olive Ink and hand-cut and tucked under the gingham petals.
  • The larger sunflower die from Radiant Sunflowers Dies was cut from Golden Glow cardstock and colored with Daffodil Delight and Blackberry Bliss Stampin’ Blends.  It was added to the center of the petals flat.
  • The center was cut with the Radiant Sunflowers Die from Early Espresso cardstock and adhered.
  • A white Shimmering Dots was added to the center of the flower.

I love creating flower petals from leaves…and this gingham leaf is SO fun!  Most of these elements were already cut and sitting on my desk from other random projects…I just had to put them together!  OK check out Debbie’s new Creatively Simple card over on Create with Stamping Friends!

CS261 – Simply Leaves

It’s a new month and we have a new Creatively Simple theme for September!  “Fall Flora” is our theme for the next several weeks!  I’ve already noticed some of the leaves starting to turn here in Ohio!

SIMPLY LEAVES

This was my swap card for the Stampin’ Up! Incentive trip back in June!  I liked the different colors I used.  Since I really didn’t have any current DSP in the colors I wanted to use, I created my own with strips of cardstock on the edge!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Crumb Cake cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
  • 1/2″ x 5-1/2 strips of Blackberry Bliss, Pretty Peacock and Golden Glow cardstocks were adhered approx. 1/4″ from the right edge of the base card and overlapping to show only 1/4″ of each.
  • A 3 x 5-1/2 piece of Crumb Cake cardstock was embossed with the leaves EF from Seasonal Cheer Trio of Embossing Folders and adhere to the front on the left.
  • Stamp and punch the Blackberry Bliss leaf, the Golden Glow polka dot leaf and the vein Pretty Peacock leaf using same colored inks.
  • Stamp the checkered leaf with Old Olive Ink and hand-cut.
  • Assemble all on the front with Blackberry Bliss and Pretty Peacock flat, the others with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Stamp greeting with Pretty Peacock Ink on 1/2 x 3-1/2 strip of Basic White cardstock and cut end at an angle.  Add to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Tie a bow with Linen Thread and add to the stems with a Mini Glue Dot.
  • Apply three green Natural Matte Dots to the background.

IM444 – Simply Leaves

Welcome to our Create with Stamping Friends Inspiration Monday challenges.  This week’s inspiration is a photo of pretty golden leaves!

SIMPLY LEAVES

I love the new Simply Leaves Bundle for a couple reasons!  One…because it is leaves…two…because there are a variety of prints on the leaves!  And since they are stylized images, they are lots of fun!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Golden Glow cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
  • The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Very Vanilla cardstock was embossed with the leaves Seasonal Cheer Mini Embossing Folder across the center.
  • Two 1/2 x 5-1/4 strips of Country Woods Designer Paper were added at the top and bottom of the Very Vanilla, then the layer added to the base card.
  • Two polka dot leaf images were stamped with Golden Glow Ink on Very Vanilla and the veins with Early Espresso Ink, then punched.
  • Two slash leaf images were stamped with Golden Glow Ink on Very Vanilla and punched.
  • The small, checked leaf was stamped with Golden Glow and hand-cut.
  • All were added across the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The greeting from Simply Leaves was stamped with Early Espresso Ink on 1/2 x 3-1/2 strip of Golden Glow cardstock, then the ends cut at an angle.  It was added to the front flat.
  • A trio of Earthy Matte Dots were added to the leaves.
