Ducky Punch Art

Wow…sorry it has been several days since I've posted. I have been busy creating, mostly things for classes and convention! I'll be showing them next week while I'm gone.

My punch class did this card last month. I took inspiration from a couple cards I saw with this baby duck punch art and created my version of him splashing in a little pond! I think he is SO cute!

The base is Tempting Turquoise cardstock and I layered on Daffodil Delight. I used the plaid pattern from Pawsitively Prints II (now retired). I freehand cut the "pond" from Tempting Turquoise and sponged around the edges with Tempting Turquoise Classic Ink. The two "splashes" are the wing from the Bird Punch, also sponged. I wanted something that resembled waves in the pond and we don't have Tempting Turquoise Ribbon, so I used a sponge dauber and Tempting Turquoise Ink to color my White Taffeta Ribbon. I applied a length of Sticky Strip and them ruffled the dyed Taffeta Ribbon on top.

I baby duck is made from the 1 3/4 Circle Punch, 1" Circle Punch for the head and Bird Punch for the wing, beak and head feather. The eyes were made from the Crop A Dile in black and white. I stamped Baby, Welcome to the Word from Stampin' Up!'s A Word from You stamp set and punched with the Scallop Oval Punch. It is layered on the Wide Oval punched from Daffodil Delight. I added a trio of little pearls under the greeting.

I think it turned out, OH SO CUTE! lol!

Stamping 411 – Snow Much Fun

Time for another great sketch challenge from the Operators of Stamping 411. AND, I have a sad announcement to make. I've come to a hard decision to give up my Stamping 411 Design Operator position. I've really enjoyed working with the other operators on Stamping 411…a truly class act of women with enormous talent! Don't worry, I'll still be playing along with the challenges as much as I can, but just not as a designer. I know I'll miss it, but also know that it is the best thing for me right now! I wish the team the BEST!

But…on to my last card as a Stamping 411 Operator! I LOVE this new set from Stampin' Up!, Snow Much Fun! I flipped the direction of the sketch only because my snowman was facing the other way.

Last year my Christmas cards were done in these colors, so I thought I'd recreate them for this card! I started with a base of Cherry Cobbler cardstock, then layered on Whisper White. I added another layer of Crumb Cake that I ran thru the Big Shot with the Perfect Polka Dots Impressions Folder. I stamped the snowman on Crumb Cake cardstock with Black Stazon. Then I used some White Craft Ink Refill and my AquaPainter to color him a whitewash color. I added Basic Gray and Cherry Cobbler to his scarf, hat and boots. That was layered onto more Whisper White and Cherry Cobbler Cardstocks.

I used the Tasteful Trim XL Die to make the "snow" along the bottom and stamped the greeting in Black Stazon. It is popped up with Stampin' Dimensionals on the front of the card. I added Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding Ribbon tied across the front. And I also added a trio of White Naturals Designer Buttons with Cherry Cobbler Bakers Twine tied inside for my "snowballs". lol!

Create with Connie and Mary

We have a FUN sketch for you to try this week over on Create with Connie and Mary! I loved the idea of the little trio of "items" to use on the front. You will see from the Design Team entries, that each of us did something totally different! How fun! Make sure to check out their cards over on Create with Connie and Mary!

And here is my card, using the stamp set I got on the Alaska Cruise called Sweets for the Sweet! A darling set! The very first thing I thought of when I saw this sketch was PINWHEELS!

I started with a base of Poppy Parade cardstock and I layered on Daffodil Delight. I ran some Whisper White thru the Big Shot with the Finial Press Impressions Folder. I cut a piece of Just Eat Cake Designer Paper…one of the new DSP packages in the new catalog…and layered it on front. Then I added some Real Red Taffeta Ribbon in a ruffle pattern across the bottom.

I cut three pinwheels in the colors of Baja Breeze, Daffodil Delight and Poppy Parade and stamped on Whisper White. I also cut out three of the handles stamped in Early Espresso. I added a Gold Mini Brad to the center of each and popped them up with Stampin' Dimensionals. I stamped Just for Fun in Early Espresso on Daffodil Delight and used the new Petite Pennants Builder Punch to punch it out.

Bear Hugs

Wow…I sat down yesterday to do some wedding cards and baby cards that I have REALLY been needing to do! I'm SO late getting them out. Is anyone else like that? I want to make a card SUPER special for someone and end up not getting it done in a timely manner! I mean, I know it will be appreciated any time I send it, but like the cobbler, I always work on my PERSONAL stuff last!

Anyway, I need a baby boy card for my NEW great-nephew, Mason! Welcome to the world, Mason! We already have another boy named Mason in our family on my side! Too funny! I pulled out Bear Hugs thinking that it was retiring and I'd use it one more time for my blog. But…then I see that it is NOT retiring…it is still available! I just LOVE using this set for baby cards…quick and easy to color and interchangeable for boy or girl!

I started with a base of Baja Breeze and layered on Soft Suede. I am trying to use up my retiring Designer Paper…this one is called Elegant Soiree is SO pretty in the muted earthy tones. (BE WATCHING! I will be offering NEW Ribbon and Designer Paper Shares on July 1st!!!)

I stamped baby bear with Black Stazon on Whisper White, then used my AquaPainter and Stampin' Write Markers to color him in Soft Suede, Baja Breeze and Crumb Cake. His diaper is painted with Moonlight Smooch Pearlized Accent Ink for a shimmery look! I punched with the 2 3/8 Scallop Circle and layered on the 2 1/2 Circle Punch of Soft Suede. I added a 1 3/4 punched circle of Crumb Cake. Then I used the Large Oval and punched out the Bear Hugs greeting from Whisper White and layered on the Scallop Oval of Baja Breeze. Finally, I added a Real Red punched Small Heart. Lots of punches, but I love this layout!

Busy day again, need to finish getting ready for my Stamp Club meeting tomorrow night! Hope you have a WONDERFUL day!

Sunny Fun again!

OK…so Sunny Fun was still out on my desk from last week, I decided to use it again for Mary Jo's Technostamper's Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge (TSSC180)! The size of the images were just perfect for the band across the card! It is also for Late Night Stampers challenge to use Red/White/Blue. I haven't done ANY red/white/blue cards this year and usually I do several leading up to 4th of July! It is really sneaking up on me!

And here is my card!

Are you wondering where the Blue/Red ribbon came from? I made it! Yes, I used my Pacific Point Stampin' Write Marker and colored the white edges of the Poppy Parade In Color Ribbon blue! It really was pretty easy! Although…a tip…let it dry before you touch it! I really like how it turned out and can't wait to do it to other colors! Sometimes you just need a two-tone ribbon to tie your project together!

I started with a base of Pacific Point (well, truthfully…I went back and forth between Poppy Parade and Pacific Point about a half dozen times!) I finally settled with Pacific Point and layered on Poppy Parade. I cut a piece of the Pacific Point Polka Dot pattern from Celebrations and layered it on Pacific Point cardstock. I wrapped a length of the modified ribbon around and secured on the back of the Poppy Parade layer. Then tied a bow and adhered it on top of the ribbon.

I stamped the popsicle image in Black Stazon on Whisper White and then used my Poppy Parade and Pacific Point Stampin' Write Markers to color them in…kind of like the "bomb pops" you can buy that are SO yummy! I added some White Gel Pen highlights, too. The sticks were colored with Crumb Cake. I layered the white on Poppy Parade cardstock.

Finally, I stamped Fun in th Sun with Pacific Point ink on Whisper White and punched with the Decorative Label punch. I think it is a fun card to celebrate the 4th of July or maybe a July birthday!

Busy day for me. I was excited to get my big 50 card swap done yesterday for Convention. Whew…that was a big one and I did a lot more detail than I probably should have done, but it turned out CUTE!!! Now I feel better about getting the little swaps that I'm doing done. Also want to make some 3Ds to hand out! My future daughter-in-law is coming over and we hope to at least cut and emboss the 200+ party favors and talk about what needs to be done yet for the wedding! That follows right after Convention!

CCMC156 – Flower Fest Beach Bag

AND…I have a surprise for you! Yes, I made up another Beach Bag like the one I did for the June Tour de Freaks HERE…and I have a FREE TUTORIAL and TEMPLATE for you below! So many of you asked, so I'm happy to do it for you!

So, here is the new Beach Bag I made using the Color Challenge on Create with Connie and Mary! I think it turned out cute using Stampin' Up!'s Flower Fest stamp set!

I made the Beach Bag with Tangerine Tango cardstock, and then decorated the front with Whisper White and Old Olive Trim on the top and bottom. I randomly stamped the flowers and leaves from Stampin' Up!'s Flower Fest stamp set in Tangerine Tango, Tempting Turquoise and Old Olive Classic Inks. I used the 1 1/4 Old Olive Striped Ribbon for the handles this time. I also used two Mini Brads at the bottom to hold the front panel on the front.

CCMC155 – Fun Flower

Here's Take 2 on the Create with Connie and Mary sketch challenge this week! I had originally made this one, then continued on and made the one I actually used for my Design Team challenge card. You can see it HERE! Sometimes it is nice to do two or more cards with the same challenge layout when you are already working with it! Here is the sketch we have for this week again.

And here is my second card using the sketch. Two completely different styles, aren't they?

Can you see I'm combining some of the Summer Mini products with the NEW catalog products on this card? I love how easy it is to mix and match with Stampin' Up! products! I took my colors from the Playful Polka Dots Scrappin' Kit! I've used most of the adhesive diecuts out of that kit, but I still have a LOT of Designer Paper left and they are such CHEERFUL colors, I love working with them. The base of the card is Rose Red, and I layered on Daffodil Delight that I ran thru the Big Shot with the Perfect Details Impressions Folder. I cut the Fun Flower with the Kit DSP and Rose Red cardstock. The Rose Red flower I ran thru the Big Shot with the Square Lattice Impressions Folder. In the center, I used the new Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer Punch in Daffodil Delight and Pumpkin Pie. In the center, I added one of the FUN new printed In Color brads that I won on the Cruise!

The Top Note in the background is more of the Scrappin' Kit DSP and I wrapped Old Olive Satin Ribbon around, tied with a bow and adhered in the back of the Daffodil Delight layer. Finally I stamped Happy Birthday from Recess stamp set in Basic Black and punched with the Word Window punch.

I did a really cool project with them for Create with Connie and Mary Summer Edition and can tell you it is one of the best kits I've used in a LONG time!
