CCMC681 – Quiet Meadow

Hello! It’s Thursday and you know that means it is time for a Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge. I love this week’s sketch! I already have several more ideas that I want to try using it! But…first…I knew the Queen Anne’s Lace DSP in the Blackberry Beauty Designer Paper was going to be perfect for it.

QUIET MEADOW

The only stamping on here is the greeting. The rest is the gorgeous Blackberry Beauty DSP. I have to be honest…the DSP is SOOOO much prettier in person than the pictures in the catalog! When I first saw it, I wasn’t fond of the color combination at all, but I’ve completely changed my mind! And, most of the designs have a metallic shimmer to them.

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Early Espresso cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
Three 1-1/4 x 4 strips of the Blackberry Beauty DSP were added to the background.
The center Blackberry Beauty DSP piece is 3 x 5 and was adhered on top.
The greeting from Quiet Meadow stamp set was stamped on Rich Razzleberry cardstock with Early Espresso Ink and cut with the Harvest Die.
The greeting piece was added to a 1/4 x 2-1/2 strip of Gold Metallic Paper and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Some simply Elegant Trim was tied in a bow and added to the Queen’s Lace flower stem for a little bling.

Saturday Blog Hop – Sentiment Only

Happy Saturday! Hope you had a wonderful and safe Fourth of July in the States! It’s time for another Saturday Blog Hop! The challenge this week is “Sentiment Only” cards. Stampin’ Up! is really doing a great job providing stamp sets with wonderful greetings in them! Woven Heirlooms is one of my favorites in the new catalog!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Thick Whisper White cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Perfect Posy cardstock is embossed with the Subtle Embossing Folder.
A 2-1/4 x 4 piece of Woven Threads Designer Paper was added to the front (I love that this pack of DSP has all the new In Colors!)
The Scallop Layered Ovals is cut from Seaside Spray cardstock and adhered over the DSP first.
A 3/8 x 4-3/4 strip of Terracotta Tile cardstock was placed next.
The greeting was stamped with Memento Black Ink on Whisper White cardstock and cut with the Stitched Shapes Oval. The fleur was stamped with Seaside Spray Ink under the greeting. It is placed over the Terracotta Tile strip on the scallop oval and popped up with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Two of the In Color Faceted Jewels were added in the background.

SUOC 172 – Stylish Stems

The theme this time on SUO Challenges is “Sympathy or Comfort”. I do send out a lot of this type of card, so I can always use new ideas.

I wanted a black and white card and used just the Stylish Stems Thinlits instead of stamping.

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Thick Whisper White cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
On top is a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Whisper White.
Along the left is a 1/2 x 5-1/4 strip of the Basic Black stripe pattern in the Neutrals Paper Pack.
The greeting from Rose Wonder stamp set was stamped with Memento Black Ink.
The stem and leaves were cut from Basic Black and adhered to the front.
The outline of the flower head was cut from Whisper White, while the detail from Basic Black cardstock and adhered together. Then adhered to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals above the stem.

Pretty simple, but I love the contrast an think it would be very appropriate to send to someone who needs a little comfort. OK…make sure to check out what the rest of the Design Team for SUO Challenges did this week with this theme! I’m sure they will have some great ideas!
