Welcome to our Create with Stamping Friends Inspiration Monday challenges.  This week’s inspiration challenge is a pretty bird print! 

WINTERLY TREE TOPS

Although the print doesn’t look Christmasy, I wanted to use these colors and the bird to make a Christmas card!  It really is stunning in person with the very non-traditional colors!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Old Olive cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • The 3-3/4 x 5 layer of Basic White was inked in the background with Peach Pie and Fresh Freesia inks using a Blending Brush.
  • One bird from the duo in Winterly Tree Tops and the greenery were stamped with Memento Black Ink on Basic White cardstock.
  • The bird was colored with Light Basic Black, Smoky Slate, Pecan Pie, Daffodil Delight, Fresh Freesia and Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blends.  It was cut with the Die and trimmed down to one bird.
  • The greenery was colored with Old Olive, Fresh Freesia, Gorgeous Grape, and Lemon Lime Twist Stampin’ Blends and cut with the die.  Both were added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The Greetings of the Season greeting was stamped with Memento Black Ink on Fresh Freesia and cut with the Greetings of the Season Dies (LOVE all the labels!).
  • Linen Thread was added to the hole and tied in a bow.
  • Some purple Tinsel Gems were added to the background for a little bling.

CS160 – Winterly Tree Tops

Welcome to Create with Stamping Friends Creatively Simple Challenge!  Each month Debbie and I will pick a theme for our simple cards.  Our September theme is “Feathered Friends”.   I love these little Bird’s Eye View birds so had to use it for the last Feathered Friends card this month!

WINTERLY TREE TOPS & BIRD’S EYE VIEW

I matched the little birdie with two of the greenery swags from Winterly Tree Tops to make this card…turned out SO cute!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Mossy Meadow cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • A 3/4 x 5-1/4 strip of Iconic Celebrations 6×6 Designer Paper (Online Exclusive) was added to the right side of a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic Beige cardstock.
  • Happy Holidays from Throughout the Year (Online) was stamped with Real Red Ink towards the bottom.
  • Two swags from Winterly Tree Tops were stamped with Memento Black Ink on Basic White and colored with Granny Apple Green, Old Olive, Mossy Meadow and Real Red Stampin Blends.  They were cut withe Winterly Tree Tops Die and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The little birdie from Bird’s Eye View was stamped with Memento Black Ink and colored with Smoky Slate and Real Red Stampin’ Blends.  He was hand-cut and added to the bottom swag.
  • A Real Red single berry was added to the top and the bottom stamped berries.

CSF Saturday Blog Hop – Unmasked

It’s Saturday and time for our Create with Stamping Friends Blog Hop. During the month of September, we are focusing on some techniques!  Next up is “unmasked”…using masks from stencils or die cuts on our cards!

WINTERLY TREE TOPS

I decided to use the Winterly Tree Tops Die as my stencil!  I placed it on the Basic White cardstock and colored with a Blending Brush and Soft Sea Foam Ink.  Then I cut Garden Green cardstock with the same die and layered it so it was slightly off set from the stenciled layer!  Gives a cool shadow look!  I also used the new Christmas Labels Bundle since the Winterly Tree Tops Bundle doesn’t have a Christmas greeting in it.

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Soft Sea Foam cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.  Set aside.
  • The Winterly Tree Tops background Die was placed on top of a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic White cardstock and blended with Soft Sea Foam Ink using a Blending Brush.
  • Then the Die was used to cut the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Garden Green cardstock.  I trimmed down the Basic White layer to fit behind it and slightly off set to reveal the “white” branches.
  • The bird from Winterly Tree Tops was stamped with Memento Black Ink on scrap Basic White cardstock and colored with Poppy Parade, Real Red, Smoky Slate, Daffodil Delight, Blueberry Bushel, and Pecan Pie Stampin’ Blends.  It was cut with the Die ad added to the lower right corner with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Two pine branches were cut from Basic White cardstock and added under the bird.
  • The greeting from Christmas Labels was stamped with Poppy Parade Ink on scrap Basic White and cut with the Christmas Labels Die.  It was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The Linen Thread was tied in a bow and added to the branch under the bird.
  • Some blue Tinsel Gems Three Pack were added to the label and background.

CS155 – Winterly Tree Tops

Welcome to Create with Stamping Friends Creatively Simple Challenge!  Each month Debbie and I will pick a theme for our simple cards.  Our August theme is “Scenic”.

WINTERLY TREE TOPS

I was so happy to have the opportunity to purchase the Winterly Tree Tops Suite of products early during Creativity Now training this summer.  Now it is available for EVERYONE to order in the upcoming August-December Mini Catalog!  For today’s Creatively Simple card I used just the Nests of Winter Designer Paper for most of this card…along with the greeting from Winterly Tree Tops stamp set!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Copper Clay cardstock, cut off 1-1/4 x 4-1/4 on one end, then scored at 5-1/2 and folded with the shorter side on top.
  • I placed a 4 x 4 piece of Nests of Winter DSP on the front panel and a coordinating 1 x 4 piece on the inside (so it shows thru to the front).

  • Next, I added a 4 x 4 piece of Basic White cardstock inside (should have stamped a bird on it!!!)
  • I used the leftover 1-1/4 x 4-1/4 piece of Copper Clay cardstock and trimmed to 1-1/4 x 4.  I used a corner rounder on the top right and bottom left sides, then added the left side to the front panel over the DSP with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • I stamped the greeting with Copper Clay Ink on 1 x 3-3/4 piece of Basic White cardstock, used the Corner Rounder again, and added to the Copper Clay piece.
  • Then I cut the bird, acorn and greenery from the DSP and added to and under the greeting with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  (TIP:  Use those edge pieces to tuck under the greeting panel and you won’t even know they are missing some of the image!)
  • Finally, I added two of the Earth Tones Shimmer Gems to the greeting panel to finish it off.

CSF Saturday Blog Hop – Over the Top

It’s Saturday and time for our Create with Stamping Friends Blog Hop. This week our theme is “Over the Top”.  We all have occasions that we want to REALLY go all out on our cards…adding a few more layers and embellishments than we normally do!  That’s this week’s theme!

WINTERLY TREE TOPS

This Winterly Tree Tops is an upcoming bundle that will be in the Sept-Dec Mini Catalog.  Demonstrators who are attending the Creativity Now Event in June were able to preorder it early!  I must say that I LOVE this set…it is pretty easy to work with!  This one I went the extra mile to make it an “over the top” card!  Did you see I have the single bird facing in BOTH directions?  That’s a fun mirror technique!  And the paper pinecones were fun to make!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Mossy Meadow cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • The speckled stamp from Layering Leaves was stamped randomly over the entire front with White Craft Ink.
  • The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Mossy Meadow was cut with the evergreen frame from the Winterly Tree Tops Dies.
  • Four extra evergreen branches were cut from Mossy Meadow using the Dies.
  • The frame and single evergreens were sponged with White Craft Ink, then some White Pearlized Enamel Effects was applied on top for some texture and shine then allowed to dry.  It was added to the front of the base card.
  • The single bird was stamped with Smoky Slate Ink on Basic White cardstock.  A second bird was inked with Smoky Slate Ink and stamped on the Silicone Mat, then another piece of Basic White was pressed on top of the wet image and the back rubbed firmly.  This transfers the mirror image!
  • They were colored with Light Balmy Blue, Light Boho Blue, Light Gray Granite, Light Crumb Cake and Dark Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends.
  • The regular bird was cut with the Dies and the mirror bird was hand-cut.  They were added to the frame with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The greeting from the new Greetings of the Season (Online Exclusive) was stamped with Smoky Slate ink on Basic White and punched with the Labeled with Love Punch.  It was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The extra evergreen branches were tucked around the greeting and the birds with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • To make the pinecones, I cut the large scallop circle from Pecan Pie cardstock with the Round We Go Dies and then cut inside to make a long spiral strip.  I was able to get the three pinecones from the one circle.  They were rolled up and sponged with Pecan Pie Ink.  They were added to the front with Monoadhesive Glue.  Fun!!!
  • Some Linen Thread was tied in a bow and added under the bird next to the greeting with a Mini Glue Dot.

CSF821 – Winterly Tree Tops

It’s Thursday and you know that means it is time for a Create with Stamping Friends Thursday Challenge. This sketch has a unique background design that was a lot of fun!

WINTERLY TREE TOPS

Winterly Tree Tops is a new Stampin’ Up! bundle (part of the Nests of Winter Suite) that will be in the Sept-Dec Mini Catalog!  Demonstrators attending the Creativity Now Online Stamping Event were able to purchase it in advance!  I loved working with it!

 

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Boho Blue cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded to form the base card.
  • The 3 x 4 and 2 x 4 pieces of birch bark pattern in the Nests of Winter 12×12 Designer Paper pack had diagonal cuts made on them and then added to the front of a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Early Espresso cardstock.
  • The 2-1/4 x 3-1/4 piece of Basic White cardstock was stamped at the top with the greeting from Winterly Tree Tops in Early Espresso Ink.
  • It was added to a 2-3/8 x 3-3/8 piece of Boho Blue cardstock.
  • The single bird was stamped with Early Espresso Ink on Basic White cardstock and colored with Boho Blue, Wild Wheat, Crumb Cake and Real Red Stampin’ Blends.  It was cut with the Winterly Tree Tops Die and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Two pine branches were cut from Garden Green cardstock and added to the branch the bird is standing on.
  • Some blue Natural Tones Linen Thread was tied in a bow and added to the pine branches.
  • A trio of Earth Tones Shimmer Gems were added to the background designer paper.
