CS104 – Apple Harvest

Welcome to Create with Connie and Mary’s Creatively Simple Challenge! Each month Mary and I will pick a theme. This month the theme is Summer Fun!

APPLE HARVEST

Towards the end of August, the orchards around here start gearing up for apple picking! Green apples are one of my favorites!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Thick Basic White cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Bubble Bath c/s was added on top.
A 3 x 4 piece of Delightfully Eclectic Designer Paper was added across the center.
The Countryside Corners Die was cut from Basic White c/s and the greeting stamped at the bottom with Pecan Pie Ink and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Two apples were stamped with Memento Black Ink on Basic White c/s and colored with Lemon Lime Twist Combo, Granny Apple Green Combo, Old Olive Combo and SU100 Stampin’ Blends. They were cut with the Apple Blossoms Dies (still available on the Clearance Rack, so make sure to grab them!)
The branch was cut with the Apple Blossoms Die from Pecan Pie cardstock and adhered towards the top. I cut the branch off so I could get a little more distance between the branches for the size of the apples. The apples were added with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
A small and large flower was cut with the dies from Basic White c/s and colored with the Blending Brush and Bubble Bath Ink. They were adhered around the apples with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals. Four leaves were cut from Old Olive c/s and tucked around the flowers. They were added with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Two yellow Four Pack Tinsel Gems were added to the center of the flowers.

Saturday Blog Hop – Casing Connie Babbert

For the past several weeks, we have been Casing the Design Team for our Saturday Blog Hops! This week our last featured Design Team Member is ME! We are to find an “old” card on my blog that we like and use the layout or colors with a new set from the July-December Mini Catalog! This should be fun! We will show both the “old” card that inspired us, and our new version! Here’s my card that I chose from my past blog posts!

APPLE HARVEST

Here is how I redid mine using Apple Harvest! Stampin’ Up! just released the coordinating dies, too! Who doesn’t love gingham? And I love eating yellow Golden Delicious apples, too!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Garden Green cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
Two 1-1/4 x 5-1/2 yellow Gingham Cottage Designer Paper strips were added down the right side.
A 3-1/4 x 4-1/2 piece of Basic Black cardstock was added at an angle on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
A Basic White Deckle Rectangle was cut with the Dies, then stamped with the apple cluster from Apple Harvest Stamp set in Memento Black Ink. It was colored with Daffodil Delight, Mango Melody, Granny Apple Green, Mossy Meadow, and Bronze Stampin’ Blends.
Two flowers from Apple Harvest were stamped with Memento Black Ink on Daffodil Delight cardstock and cut, then added to the front.
The greeting from Apple Harvest was stamped with Memento Black Ink on 1/2 x 3-1/4 Daffodil Delight c/s and added to the front with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Two white Seasonal Sequins were added to the center of the flowers.

CCMC723 – Apple Harvest

It’s Thursday and you know that means it is time for a Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge. This month our challenges will be to “case the catalog”. Each week we have a new card design to inspire us taken right from the catalog…we could use the colors, the layout, or the stamp set and dies. I’ve chosen the layout for today’s card!

APPLE HARVEST

I love the realistic look to the apples in the Apple Harvest stamp set and thought it would be perfect for this layout! I did alter where the greeting label was placed just slightly.

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Thick Basic White cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
A 3 x 4-1/4 piece of Parakeet Party In Color Designer Paper was added to a 3-1/8 x 4-3/8 piece of Early Espresso cardstock, then adhered to the front.
The large, long label from Stylish Shapes Dies was cut from Sweet Sorbet cardstock and added across the center.
The apple branch was stamped with Memento Black Ink on Basic White cardstock, then colored with Dark Mint Macaron and Parakeet Party Combo Blends for the leaves. The apples were colored with Dark Calypso Coral and Sweet Sorbet Combo Blends. The stems were colored with SU100 and SU400 Neutrals. It was hand-cut and added to the center with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The greeting was stamped on Basic White cardstock with Early Espresso Ink and cut with the long skinny label from Stylish Shapes, then adhered off to the left of the card so more of the apples showed.
A trio of Red Rhinestones were added to the background for a little bling!

I thought that turned out pretty well and definitely cased the card sample from the catalog, don’t you? OK, go check out what the rest of the Challenge Team did with this challenge over on Create with Connie and Mary!
