IM352 – Potions & Spells

Welcome to our Create with Stamping Friends Inspiration Monday challenges. This week’s inspiration challenge is a witchy black cat! So cute!

POTIONS & SPELLS

The only black cat I could think to use is in the Potions & Spells Bundle (online exclusive). I also used the fun Halloween Spells Designer Paper along with it…love the bright colors!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Granny Apple Green cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Gray Granite cardstock was added on top and the greeting stamped at the bottom in Memento Black Ink.
Four 1-3/4 x 1-3/4 squares of Halloween Spells 12×12 DSP were added to the background.
The circle was cut with the Stylish Shapes Dies from Basic White cardstock and the bubble stamped randomly in the background with Granny Apple Green Ink and colored with Light Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blends. The ground was shaded with Light Gray Granite Stampin’ Blends. It was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The cat was stamped with Memento Black Ink on Basic Gray cardstock and cut with the Potions & Spells Die, then added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Some Black Basic Essentials Baker’s Twine was tied around the cat’s tail in a bow.
The large bottle was cut from Lemon Lime Twist and label from Gorgeous Grape cardstocks, the smaller bottle from Basic White and Pumpkin Pie cardstocks using the dies. They were added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
A trio of Transparent Adhesive Backed Dots were added to the background.
I used a white gel pen to highlight the eyes.

CCMC Saturday Blog Hop – Halloween deja vu?

Woohoo! It’s Saturday…and that means the Create with Connie and Mary Design Team have their weekly blog hop! This week we are again featuring Halloween sets in the Holiday Catalog! SOOOO many cute ones! Haunt Ya Later was one of the first sets I spotted and purchased. Love these little characters…especially the cat! I colored mine to look like my gray cat, Bleach!

Isn’t that cute??? I love how this turned out! Here are the details on how I made it:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Tangelo Twist, folded in half.
A layer of 4 x 5-1/4 Basic Gray was placed on top.
The DSP layers are 1 x 4 1/2 and 2 x 3-3/4 prints from Happy Hauntings DSP and adhered on an angle.
The 2 x 3 Very Vanilla layer is placed over top and a 1/2 x 4 strip of Black Glimmer Paper placed across the front.
The cat and pumpkin from Haunt Ya Later were stamped with Black Archival Ink and watercolored with the AquaPainter and Tangelo Twist, Old Olive and Tangelo Twist Inks. The cat’s eyes are Old Olive, too. They were hand-cut and added to the front of the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Haunt Ya Later was stamped with Black Archival Ink in the upper left corner.

Halloween Happy Scenes

I love the set, Happy Scenes in Stampin’ Up!’s Holiday Catalog! My favorite image is the spider web! Here’s a card I came up with…was going to use it for a class card until I realized I used 3 sets of Framelits on it! Oh well, I still really love the black cat, the window and the scene…so I’m sharing it here! It reminds me of my cat looking out the window all day!

Here are the details to recreate this card.

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Thick Whisper White, folded in half.
A 2-1/4 x 4 piece of Farmers Market Designer Paper was adhered to the bottom of the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Hello Honey. A 1/4 x 4 strip of Whisper White hides the seam and is the “chair rail”.
The Hearth & Home Thinlet Die is cut from Thick Whisper White.
The background of the window is 2-3/8 x 3-1/4 Hello Honey cardstock sponged with Tangelo Twist Ink. The spider web is stamped with Tuxedo Black Ink in the upper right corner.
A moon is punched form the 1″ Circle Punch from Hello Honey cardstock and placed in the upper left corner, trimming off the excess.
The Sleigh Ride Edgelit houses were cut from Basic Black cardstock and placed along the bottom of the scene. The scene was adhered to the back of the window and then added to the front of the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The Pumpkin was made with 1″ Circles punched from Tangelo Twist cardstock, sponged with ink on the edges and adhered together. The leaf is from the Bird Punch from Old Olive cardstock.
The black cat is cut from Basic Black cardstock with the Festive Fireplace Framelits and adhered sitting on the pumpkin and looking out the window!
Wishing you from Happy Scenes was stamped with Tuxedo Black on the DSP in the lower right corner.

See…wasn’t it worth using THREE of the Framelits on this card??? lol! I love it!
