DAHLIA DAYS

Here’s another bundle that I haven’t used much and won’t be in the new catalog, but it really does make pretty cards! I love the large background die, especially used tone-on-tone like this!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Just Jade cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
A 4 x 5-1/4 piece of Just Jade cardstock was cut with the background Detailed Dahlias Die and adhered to the base card.
The dahlia flower was stamped full strength with Calypso Coral, then stamped off, on Basic White cardstock and cut with the Dies, then added with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The leaves were stamped with Pear Pizzazz Ink and cut with the dies. Nice that there are multiples! They were popped up on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The greeting was stamped with Just Jade Ink on Basic White cardstock and cut with the label from Hippo & Friends Dies. It was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
A trio of Iridescent Rhinestones were added to the background for a little bling!

Isn’t that a pretty background? I think so! I’m going to miss that Just Jade color when it officially retires at the beginning of May!

Saturday Blog Hop – Monochromatic cards

This week’s Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop theme is “Monochromatic cards”…we could choose ONE color (not black) plus white or vanilla.

DAHLIA DAYS

I’ve had my Dahlia Days bundle for a while but haven’t used it! It thought it would be perfect to use for this monochromatic challenge! This is really a simple card as the DSP does most of the work!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Magenta Madness cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
On top is a 4 x 5-1/4 piece of pink marbled Expressions in Ink Designer Paper.
A 4 x 5-1/4 piece of Basic White cardstock was cut with the Detailed Dahlias Dies and adhered to the top with Monoadhesive Glue.
A 3/4 x 4 piece of Magenta Madness was added across the front towards the bottom.
The label in the Dahlia Days stamp set was stamped with Magenta Madness Ink on scrap Basic White cardstock, then cut with the Detailed Dahlia Die.
The greeting from Dahlia Days was stamped with Memento Black Ink on the label. (It needed the contrast!) It was popped up on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
A trio of pink In Color Jewels were added to the flowers in the background.

Happy Monday and Happy Valentine’s Day! It’s time for our Create with Connie and Mary Inspiration Monday challenge! This week we have some pretty vases for our inspiration piece!

DAHLIA DAYS

I just ordered this set, so wanted to spotlight the center vase by featuring it on today’s card! Especially since Mary had her card done first and used the obvious rainbows on the vases! lol!

Stampin’ Details:

- The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Flirty Flamingo cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded to form the base card.
- A 1-3/4 x 5-1/4 piece of polka dot Sunshine & Rainbows Designer Paper was added to the bottom of a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic White cardstock.
- A 1/4 x 5-1/4 stripe piece of Sunshine & Rainbows DSP was added to hide the seam.
- The greeting from Dahlia Days was stamped with Memento Black Ink.
- Two of the flowers were stamped with Flirty Flamingo Ink and two leaf trios with Granny Apple Green Ink on Basic White cardstock, then cut with the Detailed Dahlia Dies. They were popped up on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- Some Polished Dots were added to the center of the flowers and the background.
