IM48 – Dashing Deer

It’s Monday and time for another Inspiration Monday on Create with Connie and Mary! We have a wonderful bunch of cookies for our inspiration today…sure wish I could decorate like that! Don’t they look YUMMY?

I chose to use the color scheme instead of fall leaves for my card…but I guess it does have sprigs of leaves on it anyway! lol! And, dots in the designer paper!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Thick Very Vanilla cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Very Vanilla cardstock, a 1-1/4 x 5-1/4 piece of Joyous Noel Designer Paper was added to the left side (sorry, this paper is now sold out!).
The Tea Room Ribbon has a copper edge and works perfectly to hide the seam, and is adhered in the back.
The greeting from Dashing Deer was stamped with Versamark Ink and embossed with Copper Embossing Powder.
A total of 8 sprigs were punched from Metallic Copper Paper with the Spring Punch and layered into a “swag” pattern on front using Mini Glue Dots.
Another piece of Tea Room Ribbon was tied in a bow and added to the top of the swag with a Mini Glue Dot.

IM39 – Dashing Deer

I thought this was a very unusual inspiration piece and I struggled which way to go with it. I finally decided to use the colors, but ended up also using the stripes in a vertical rather than horizontal pattern.

I combined THREE different stamp sets…something that I normally do not do, but for this occasion it was just appropriate. The background trees are from Winter Woods…and I wanted the yellow look in the trees for fall. That dictated a “fall” greeting that I found in Falling For Leaves stamp set. I also had this deer from Dashing Deer already stamped and sitting on my desk that matched the color scheme. I wanted it to look less “Christmasy”, so I trimmed down the antlers a bit. So…that’s a look into how my mind works sometimes! lol!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Gray Granite (my favorite gray!) cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Shimmery White was stamped with the Winter Woods trees and Stazon Black Ink.
An AquaPainter and Crushed Curry Refill was swiped over the trees to give them a watercolor wash for fall.
A 1-1/2 x 5-1/4 piece of Gray Granite was torn across the top and used for the “ground”. Thankful from Falling for Leaves stamp set was stamped with Memento Black Ink.
The deer in Dashing Deer was stamped with Gray Granite and cut with the Detailed Deer Thinlits, the antlers were trimmed a little to make them shorter.
Basic Black twine was wrapped around the neck and tied in a bow. The deer was popped up on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

i think this would make a great masculine card for fall birthdays…change out the greeting to a birthday one! OK…go check out what Mary did with the Inspiration Challenge this week over on Create with Connie and Mary!

August 2018 Alaska Achievers Blog Hop

I’m happy to be able to play along again this month with the Alaska Achievers Monthly Blog Hop! This blog hop is for those of us who have earned the Stampin’ Up! Alaska Incentive trip we went to in July! Wow! What a FABULOUS trip…Stampin’ Up! really does a wonderful job treating their Incentive Trip earners! I’m very blessed with my team and my customers to earn it every year. I’ve included just a FEW of the hundreds of pictures I took. We had BEAUTIFUL weather both weeks we were there!

Our theme this month is Holiday Catalog products…we received MANY new Holiday Catalog products on the trip! Stampin’ Details:

Base is 4-1/4 x 8-1/2 Pool Party Cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
On top is a 3-7/8 x 5-1/8 layer of Poppy Parade cardstock.
The 3-3/4 x 5 layer of Whisper White cardstock was embossed with the Curls & Swirls Embossing Folder.
An extra 1-3/4 x 3-3/4 piece of Whisper White was torn across the top and then stamped with the Dashing Deer greeting in Poppy Parade, then added over the swirls background with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The deer from Dashing Deer stamp set were stamped with Soft Suede and cut with the Detailed Deer Thinlit Dies and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
A few “snowflakes” were cut from Pool Party cardstock with the Detailed Deer Thinlit and added to the background with Mini Glue Dots. A small Rhinestone jewel is in the center.

The Take-Out Box was cut from Pool Party cardstock and decorated the same as the card to have a matching treat box! Here’s a closeup of the top.

A few pictures in Alaska! I HIGHLY recommend visiting Alaska if you can. This was our second trip and we LOVE it, even though we both are more warm weather/beach vacationers! Of course, temps were in the 80s most of the trip, so it was warm!
