Welcome to our Create with Connie and Mary Inspiration Monday challenges.  This week’s inspiration challenge is a fun Easter egg home decor piece!

EXCELLENT EGGS

Yep…just had to use my Excellent Eggs Bundle for today’s card!  I’m jealous that Mary found that DSP for her card and used those dies for her flower that were perfect!  But I think mine turned out pretty sweet, too.  I ended up having to reverse the colors, but it worked out with the same idea!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Thick Basic White cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.  The Excellent Eggs greeting was stamped in the lower right corner with Coastal Cabana ink.
  • A 4 x 4 piece of Coastal Cabana cardstock was embossed with the polka dot Basics Embossing Folder (Online Exclusive), then added to the front.
  • The largest egg was cut from the Delightfully Eclectic Designer Paper with the Excellent Eggs Dies.
  • The 1-1/2 x 4 strip of Daffodil Delight cardstock was cut on both sides with the scallop edge, then added to the front of the egg and trimmed.
  • The Basic White flower was cut with the Around the Bend Dies and the center from Daffodil Delight cardstock, then added to the band with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The egg was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • A trio of Shiny Adhesive Backed Sequins (Online Exclusive) were added to the background.

Saturday Blog Hop – Easter Parade

It’s Saturday and time for our Create with Connie and Mary Blog Hop. This week our theme is “Easter Parade”.  Obviously, we are featuring Easter Cards this week…almost time to mail them out!  Easter is early this year!

EXCELLENT EGGS

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Lemon Lolly cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
  • A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Flirty Flamingo cardstock was added on top.
  • The 3-3/4 x 5 layer of Basic White cardstock was stamped with the Happy Easter greeting in Memento Black Ink towards the bottom, then added to the front.
  • The zig zags were cut with the Die from Flirty Flamingo, Lemon Lolly and Balmy Blue cardstocks and then added to the front.
  • The egg was stamped with Memento Black Ink and colored with Flirty Flamingo Combo, Balmy Blue Combo, Lemon Lolly Combo Stampin’ Blends.  It was cut with the Die and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Some Pastel Adhesive Backed Sequins were added to the egg and on each side of the greeting.

It’s Thursday and you know that means it is time for a Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge.  It’s a bright color challenge for you to try this week!

EXCELLENT EGGS

This set is fun, but I hadn’t used this particular stamp yet…was a perfect time to try it out!  My Stamp Clubs are doing a variation of this card this month!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Coastal Cabana cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic White cardstock was embossed with the crosshatch Basics Embossing Folder and added to the front.
  • A 2 x 5-1/4 strip of Les Shoppes Designer Paper was added on the front.
  • The greeting from Excellent Eggs was stamped with Memento Black Ink on a 3/4 x 4 strip of Coastal Cabana cardstock and added to the front.
  • The large egg was stamped with Memento Black Ink on Basic White cardstock, then water colored with Coastal Cabana, Crushed Curry, Old Olive and Gray Granite Markers.  It was cut with the Excellent Eggs Dies and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The bunny was stamped with Memento Black Ink and lightly outlined with Gray Granite Marker.
  • The ric rak trim was cut from Crushed Curry cardstock with the Dies and added under the egg.
  • A trio of Tingle Gems Three Pack were added to the background.
