Happy Monday! It’s time for our Create with Connie and Mary Inspiration Monday challenge! This week we have a fun cacti print!

FLOWERING CACTUS PRODUCT MEDLEY

Although I love the colors in the Product Medley, it is fun to use this cacti with different colors, especially the heart cactus…it looks great done in red!

Stampin’ Details:

- The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Night of Navy cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
- A 3-1/4 x 3-3/4 piece of Playing with Patterns Designer Paper has two 1/2 x 3-1/4 pieces of Real Red cardstock placed behind the top and bottom, then added to the front.
- A 2-3/4 x 3-3/4 piece of Basic White cardstock was added on top.
- Two of the tall cacti were cut with the Flowering Cactus Dies from Night of Navy cardstock and added on the left side with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- The heart cactus was stamped with Real Red Ink, the other cactus with Just Jade Ink and the small flowers with Real Red Ink on Basic White cardstock. All were cut with the Flowering Cactus Dies. They were added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- The greeting was stamped were Just Jade Ink on a 1/2 x 3 piece of Basic White and the end cut at an angle. It was tucked under the cactus.
- Some Night of Navy Twine (Well Suited Twine Combo) was tied in a bow and added to the cactus with a Mini Glue Dot.

Saturday Blog Hop – Non-traditional Valentine

This week’s blog hop theme is “Non-Traditional Valentine Colors”, no red or pink. Hmmm, this was a little more challenging than I thought it would be since I already used my yellow and blue Valentine earlier this month! But, I remember thinking that the cactus in Flowering Cactus stamp set looked like a heart, so I went with this card and used green!

Stampin’ Details:

The base 4-1/4 x 11 of Pear Pizzazz cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
On top is a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Mossy Meadow cardstock.
On the 3-3/4 x 5 layer of Whisper White cardstock, a 2 x 5 piece of Flowering Cactus Designer Paper was added down the right side (do you see all the hearts???)
A 3 x 3-1/2 piece of Pear Pizzazz cardstock was added on top.
Then a 2 x 3-1/4 piece of Whisper White was stamped with the Happy Heart Day greeting from Arrange a Wreath in Memento Black Ink in the upper left corner.
The heart cactus was stamped with Mossy Meadow Ink on Basic White cardstock and cut with the Flowering Cactus Dies. It was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The purple flowers were cut from the Designer Paper with the Flowering Cactus Dies and added to the cactus on front.
Two white Resin Hearts were added to the background.

CCMC646 – Flowering Cactus

Happy Thursday! It’s time for a new Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge! We have a fun color challenge for you this week!

I have been wanting to use my new Flowering Cactus Project Kit…and decided to use just the stamps and dies for this card! And, I absolutely LOVE those Stitched with Whimsy Dies, too!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Old Olive cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Merry Merlot was added on top.
The 3-3/8 x 5-1/8 layer of Basic White cardstock was cut/embossed with the Stitched with Whimsy Dies.
The cactus from Flowering Cactus stamp set was stamped with Old Olive Ink and the flowers with Flirty Flamingo Ink. They were cut with the Flowering Cactus Dies. The flowers were added with Mini Glue Dots.
Before placing the cactus with Stampin’ Dimensionals on the front, the ground was stamped a couple times and greeting with Merry Merlot Ink.
A trio of Adhesive Sequins were added in the background.
