IM27 Healing Hugs

It’s time for another Create with Connie and Mary’s Inspiration Monday!!! Don’t these cupcakes look SO yummy! I love that Stampin’ Up! put two new gorgeous purples in their color lineup!

I love the combination of Highland Heather and Gorgeous Grape…plus a pop of Granny Apple Green! (Think the Queen of England liked the colors, too, since she wore them at the wedding!) And that new Tufted Embossing Folder is SO fun! It almost looks quilted!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Gorgeous Grape Cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Highland Heather is embossed with the Tufted Embossing Folder.
A 1/2 x 5-1/4 piece of Gorgeous Grape stripe DSP from the Brights Collection was added to the left side.
The Get Well Soon greeting from Healing Hugs was stamped with Memento Black Ink on Whisper White, then cut with the Layering Shapes Ovals, it is adhered to a scallop oval of Gorgeous Grape, then added to the front.
The rose from Healing Hugs was stamped with Gorgeous Grape on Whisper White and the leaves with Granny Apple Green Ink, then hand cut and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Two of the Adhesive Sequins were added to the oval. LOVE that they are kind of iridescent!

IM9 – Waterfront

Today’s Inspiration Monday photo is gorgeous, isn’t it? I always love photography like this! Of course, it immediately brought to mind Stampin’ Up!’s fun new Brusho Color Crystals!

So here is what I came up with using the awesome stamp set, Waterfront. I’ve used that black-out technique a few times with this set and really love it!

Stampin’ details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Thick Whisper White cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
For the background, I wet the background of my 3-3/4 x 5 piece of Watercolor Paper. Then I sprinkled a little of the yellow and blue Brusho crystals on different parts of a large acrylic stamping block. I used a wet AquaPainter to pick up the crystals and “paint” the Yellow crystals across the top and the Prussian Blue across the bottom. While still wet, I sprinkled just a tiny little bit of Gamboge crystals in the top corners for some depth.
When dry, I stamped the “mountain”, the hut and the palm trees with Memento Black Ink. I went over the images with a Basic Black Marker to make them really dark and blacked out. The sun was stamped with Pumpkin Pie and I hand drew the birds with the Basic Black Marker. (Note: when you first color with the Black marker, it looks unfinished, but as the ink settles into the paper, it smooths out and looks more natural.)
To finish the card, I added the Navy Corduroy Ribbon across the bottom and adhered it in the back. I layered the Watercolor Paper on a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Night of Navy and then added to the base card.
I used a few more of the Prussian Blue crystals and the same technique to watercolor a scrap of Watercolor Paper, then punched with the Tailored Tag Punch. When dry the greeting from Waterfront was stamped with Memento Black Ink. It was added on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I LOVE this card! It makes me SO happy to think of getting away to the beach and a private island! lol! OK make sure to check out what Mary did with this inspiration over on Create with Connie and Mary!

IM2 – Sure Do Love You

Hi everyone!

Mary and I will be bring a new Inspiration Challenge to you every Monday…this is our second one! This week are fun heart cookies for our inspiration photo! I went looking for some Designer Paper that would give the feel of the cookies and, of course, used a heart for under my greeting!

Here’s my design:

Stampin’ details:

The base is one of the card bases from the Tutti-Frutti Cards & Envelope…a FREE Sale-A-Bration selection! HINT: Normally, to extend the quantity of them, I will cut the card base in half and mount them on Whisper White! Since the fully printed, I have two nice printed layers that way!
On top is a 3-3/4 x 5 layer of Crumb Cake cardstock.
Across it is a 1-1/4 x 5 strip of another FREE Sale-A-Bration selection, the Bubbles & Fizz Designer Paper.
I cut the largest heart with the Sweet & Sassy Framelits from the Bubbles & Fizz DSP and added it to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Sure Do Love You is stamped with Lemon Lime Twist Ink on scrap Whisper White and hand-cut (or you can use the Framelits) and added to the heart with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Two of the yellow Glimmer Dot were added to the banner for a little bling!
