CCMC557 – Healing Hugs

Happy Thursday! It’s time for our Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge! It’s a fun color challenge this week.

I had Healing Hugs sitting on my desk for a get well card I made, so decided to use it for this week’s challenge!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Blueberry Bushel cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
At the bottom of the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Whisper White, a 1-3/4 x 4 piece of 2018-2020 In Color Designer Paper in Blueberry Bushel polka dot was added to the bottom.
The rose was stamped with Pineapple Punch Ink on scrap Whisper White and hand-cut and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The leaves were stamped with Granny Apple Green Ink and hand-cut also, then placed under the rose.
The filler leaves were stamped with Blueberry Bushel Ink on Blueberry Bushel cardstock, then hand-cut and tucked under the flower and leaves.
Get Well Soon was stamped with Blueberry Bushel Ink in the upper right corner.

Another Thursday has rolled around and it’s time for another Create with Connie and Mary challenge. We have a beautiful color combination for you to try this week! LOVE the new purples that Stampin’ Up! just introduced in the Color Revamp…and, of course, my favorite new green…Granny Apple Green!

Here’s what I came up with using the lovely set, Healing Hugs. Although it is hard to see in the photograph, the roses are actually two-toned and SO pretty in real life!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Gorgeous Grape cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
On the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Whisper White, a 1-1/2 x 5-1/4 strip of Granny Apple Green (Brights) Designer Paper was added to the left side.
The Gorgeous Grape Mini Striped Ribbon was added over top and adhere in the back.
Get Well Soon from Healing Hugs was stamped with Gorgeous Grape Ink in the upper left corner.
The roses from Healing Hugs were inked with Highland Heather Ink on Whisper White cardstock, then sponged with Gorgeous Grape for a two-tone look. They were hand-cut and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Two sets of leaves from Healing Hugs were stamped with Granny Apple Green on scrap Whisper White, hand cut and added under the flowers.

CCMC Saturday Blog Hop – Every Rose Has It’s Thorns

This month Create with Connie and Mary is bringing back the music of the 80s!!! Here’s our third song that will get stuck in your head! This week it is the 80’s song “Every Rose Has It’s Thorns”…of course…it is cards with flowers! One of my favorite sets, Healing Hugs, is the one I went with for my card and I love Peace roses, so I went with that color scheme!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Poppy Parade cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
The 3-3-1/4 x 3-3/4 Whisper White panel was stamped in the upper left and lower right corners with the abstract design in Poppy Parade Ink. It was layered on a 3-1/2 x 4 piece of Mango Melody cardstock.
The Rose from Healing Hugs was inked with Mango Melody and then sponged with Poppy Parade Ink along the edges and stamped on Whisper White cardstock.. It was hand cut and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The leaves were inked three times with Granny Apple Green Ink, then Shaded Spruced was sponged around the edges and stamped on Whisper White cardstock. Then all were cut out and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The greeting was stamped with Memento Black Ink on Whisper White and cut with the Stitched Labels Framelits, and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals. One of the leaves was added below it.
A small piece of Whisper White Polka Dot Tulle ribbon was tied in a knot and added under the rose with a Mini Glue Dot.

It’s time for another Create with Connie and Mary’s Inspiration Monday!!! Don’t these cupcakes look SO yummy! I love that Stampin’ Up! put two new gorgeous purples in their color lineup!

I love the combination of Highland Heather and Gorgeous Grape…plus a pop of Granny Apple Green! (Think the Queen of England liked the colors, too, since she wore them at the wedding!) And that new Tufted Embossing Folder is SO fun! It almost looks quilted!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Gorgeous Grape Cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Highland Heather is embossed with the Tufted Embossing Folder.
A 1/2 x 5-1/4 piece of Gorgeous Grape stripe DSP from the Brights Collection was added to the left side.
The Get Well Soon greeting from Healing Hugs was stamped with Memento Black Ink on Whisper White, then cut with the Layering Shapes Ovals, it is adhered to a scallop oval of Gorgeous Grape, then added to the front.
The rose from Healing Hugs was stamped with Gorgeous Grape on Whisper White and the leaves with Granny Apple Green Ink, then hand cut and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Two of the Adhesive Sequins were added to the oval. LOVE that they are kind of iridescent!

Today’s Saturday Blog Hop theme is “Favorite In Color”! With so many new colors, my focus has been just the tiniest less focused on the In Colors, but I do love all the primary colors! Of course…had to pick Pineapple Punch…a bright and sunny yellow…for my favorite!

I also wanted to use my brand new Healing Hugs. I know this set will get a LOT of use from me. I’m already sending off this card to a stamping friend who just found out she has cancer. I hope the bright color cheers her up and that she knows we are thinking and praying for her.

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Pineapple Punch cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
On the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Whisper White, a 3/4 x 4 piece of In Colors Designer Paper was added to the bottom.
The 2-3/4 x 2-3/4 piece of Crumb Cake was embossed with the Basket Weave embossing folder, then the sides cut up on an angle to resemble a basket.
The handle was made by cutting two largest ovals from the Layered Ovals Framelits.
The rose was stamped with Pineapple Punch Ink on Whisper White then hand cut. The leaves were stamped with Granny Apple Green (my favorite new green!) on Whisper White and hand cut. They were added to the basket with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The greeting in Healing Hugs was stamped with Memento Black on scrap Whisper White, cut with a flag end, then added to the basket, tucked under the leaves.
