Woohoo!!! Today is the day that Create with Connie and Mary opens our March 2016 Mini Session! It’s not too late to join! My card today gives you a hint of my project this month. It’s all about the grads, the Large Number Framelits and the Pyramid Pals Thinlets Dies!

My kids are grown, of course, but my son IS graduating with his Master’s Degree at Ohio State University in May, so I do have graduation on the mind! I should have done this in OSU colors to give to him! lol! But, I always seem to know 1-2 people who are graduating from high school or college each year…just change up the colors to match their school! And, the It’s My Party Designer Paper has a couple great black print patterns to coordinate with it!

The Sale-A-Bration set, Perfect Pairings, is a great set…I love the font on it…and it is FREE to get for the rest of the month! Here’s the inside…simple so you could write a nice note.

Here are the details:

The base card is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Basic Black folded in half.
On the 4 x 5-1/2 layer of Bermuda Bay, the 2 x 5-1/4 layer was added. Then the 1/8″ Bermuda Bay Stitched ribbon was added to hide the seam.
2016 was cut from Silver Glimmer Paper with the Large Number Framelits and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The inside triangle on the Pyramid Pals Thinlet box was cut from Whisper White cardstock, then stamped with Congrats from Perfect Pairings Stamp Set in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.
The bowtie from the Pyramid Pals Thinlets was cut from Basic Black and added to the number 1, then a Perfect White Accent added to the center.
Inside, a 3/4 x 5-1/4 strip of the same DSP was added to the bottom of the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Whisper White, then You Did It was stamped across several times with Bermuda Bay Ink.

Botanical Blooms Calendar

Every year I re-cover a calendar to have on my desk to keep track of my classes and activities. I remove the ugly vinyl cover and add cardstock and designer paper. This year I couldn’t resist using the Botanical Blooms stamp set, framelits and Botanical Garden Designer paper. Did you know that ALL of that comes with the Bundle for only $51.75???!!! Stampin’ Up! added the DSP to the bundle for this one! Makes sense because it is a perfect match!

Of course, I took all my colors from the Designer Paper. Here are the details:

I measured the front and back of the calendar then covered the front and back with Hello Honey cardstock, leaving about 1″ uncovered along the folded edge.
I cut the bottom piece of Botanical Gardens Designer Paper and adhered over the cardstock. Then used a 1/2″ strip of coordinating designer paper to cover the seam.
The Cajun Craze band was cut 3″ wide and scored down the center at 1-1/2 so that it would fold along the edge easily and hide the uncovered part. I used Tear & Tape on this piece because of all the movement it will get.
The 2016 numbers from Large Numbers Framelits were cut from Gold Glimmer Paper and adhered above the DSP.
The veins in the leaves were stamped with Mossy Meadow Ink on Mossy Meadow Cardstock, then cut with the Botanical Builder Framelits.
Flowers were cut from Whisper White, Pool Party and Cajun Craze cardstock, then assembled around the numbers. I LOVE that several of the flowers are “cut” so they have more dimension and pop out!
I used the Perfect White Accents for the centers. In the large flower I colored it with a Black Sharpie Marker.

It will be so much fun to look at my calendar all year around and enjoy this design! SO much better than that vinyl black cover!

SUOC138 – New Year Celebration

The theme this time on SUO Challenges is Happy New Year! I was SO excited to see the Large Number Framelit Dies in the new Occasions catalog! I can see using them a LOT to personalize cards! So, here’s my first use of them…to bring in the New Year!

I also replaced the 0 with the Delicate Ornament Thinlet, layering the Gold Glimmer Paper over Silver Foil Paper! It really sparkles! Here are the details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Thick Whisper White.
On top is a 4-1/8 x 5-1/8 layer of Basic Black.
A 1-1/4 x 5 strip of striped Winter Wonderland Designer Paper was adhered across the top and the speckle pattern cut to 3 x 5 places along the bottom.
A piece of 1/8 Silver Ribbon hides the overlap seam.
The 2, 1 and 6 were cut with the Large Number Framelits from Gold Glimmer Paper and adhered along the bototm portion.
The Delicate Ornament Thinlet was cut from Gold Glimmer Paper, then layered on Silver Foil Paper and hand-cut around the shape. The hanger portion is Silver Foil Paper, too.
Another piece of 1/8″ Silver Ribbon was tied in a bow and added with a Mini Glue Dot!
Happy New Year from Teeny Tiny Wishes was stamped with Basic Black Ink on Thick Whisper White and cut with the banner from the Large Number Framelits…love that they included it in that set!
Two Rhinestones finish off the sides of the banner and one in the center of the ornament add a little more glimmer.
