Wow! For the month of October, we have a Creatively Simple theme this month called “Eat, Drink or Be Scary!

Love the spooky tree in the Oh My Fright Dies! This bundle is really nice, but I especially like all the add-on die elements like the tree!

OH MY FRIGHT

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Cloud Cover cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic Gray cardstock was stamped with the bats in Basic Black Ink.
a 2″ Circle was punched from Basic White and brushed with Cloud Cover Ink around the edges. It was adhered to the Basic Gray layer.
A 2 x 4 strip of Basic Black was torn across the top and added to the bottom of the Basic Gray layer.
The tree was cut from Basic Black cardstock and added over the ground and the moon.
The bat was stamped on Basic White cardstock with Basic Black Ink and cut with the Die, then added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Trick or Treat was stamped on 3/4 x 2-1/2 Basic White cardstock using Basic Black Ink and the ends cut at an angle. It was added to the “ground”.
A trio of Adhesive Backed Bats, Ghosts & Dots embellishments were added to the background.

CS268 – Oh My Fright Ghosts

Wow! For the month of October, we have a Creatively Simple theme this month called “Eat, Drink or Be Scary!

Here’s another example of a Halloween card that you can make out of everyday products! I’ve used the Everyday Arches Dies for my ghosts and just hand-trimmed the bottoms for a wavy edge!

OH MY FRIGHT

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Smoky Slate cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic Gray was stamped in the top corner with the Oh My Fright spiderweb and bottom corner with the Boo greeting in Basic Black Ink.
The ghosts were cut with the smaller Everyday Arches Dies from Basic White cardstock and the bottoms hand-trimmed with a wavy edge.
The eyes are 1/8″ circles (retired) punched from Basic Black cardstock and adhered.
The bows and bowtie are the flower die in Fern & Flora unassembled cut from Pumpkin Pie cardstock and adhered.
Two of the bats from Adhesive Backed Bats, Ghosts and Dots were added by the spiderweb.

Saturday Blog Hop – Spooky Things

It’s Saturday and time for our Create with Stamping Friends Blog Hop. This week’s theme is “Spooky Things”! I love using non-Halloween images and converting them for Halloween use!

WELCOME NOEL HALLOWEEN

When I first saw the Welcome Noel Bundle, I knew I’d be making a haunted house version. I have seen a couple others who had the same idea!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Basic Gray ardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
The top two-thirds of the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Gorgeous Grape cardstock was brushed with Basic Black Ink using the Blending Brush an added to the front.
A 3 x 4 piece of Basic Black cardstock was torn across the top to form the hill and adhere to the front.
The tree was cut with the Oh My Fright die from Basic Black cardstock and added on the hill.
A 1-1/2 x 4 piece of Basic Gray cardstock was torn across the top and bottom and stamped with the Happy Halloween greeting from Oh My Fright stamp set in Basic Black. It was added to the bottom of the hill.
The large and small house from Welcome Noel Dies were cut from Basic Black cardstock and the windows backed with Daffodil Delight cardstock. They were added on top of each other to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals at an slight angle.
The moon was cut from Daffodil Delight cardstock and adhered behind the tree branches.
The bat was cut from Basic Black cardstock and added to the sky.
A trio of black Adhesive Backed Bats Ghosts & Dots were added to the background.

Saturday Blog Hop – Spotlight on Vellum

It’s Saturday and time for our Create with Stamping Friends Blog Hop. This week’s theme is “Spotlight on Vellum!

OH MY FRIGHT

Vellum is one of the products I don’t think about using much…but I always love the delicate look it adds to projects!

Unrelated…but did you see the news that Stampin’ Up! MULBERRY PAPER is coming back in stock for the November Online Exclusives? I haven’t used that in YEARS…I wonder if I still have some stashed somewhere? lol!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Basic Gray cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
A 4-1/4 x 4-3/4 piece of Gorgeous Grape cardstock was added slightly towards the left edge.
The ghost Frightfully Fun DSP was added towards the left edge of the Gorgeous Grape layer, then a 4-1/4 x 4-3/4 piece of Cardstock Vellum was added on top.
TIP: Place the adhesive on the white ghosts so that it doesn’t show thru the vellum as much!
Adhere a 1/4 x 3 strip of Basic Black towards the bottom left corner.
On the 1-1/4 x 1-3/4 piece of Gorgeous Grape cardstock, stamp BOO with Basic Black Ink. Cut a flag end and added over the Basic Black strip with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Stamp the ghost with Basic Black Ink on Basic White cardstock and cut with the Oh My Fright Die. Adhere it next to the greeting with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Cut the bats with the Die from Basic Black cardstock and adhere flat to the vellum with Monoadhesive Glue.
Add two Adhesive Backed Ghosts, Bats & Dots to the background.

It’s Thursday and time for our Create with Stamping Friends challenge! We have a fun sketch challenge for you to try this week!

OH MY FRIGHT

I couldn’t decide between Christmas or Halloween…but the Frightening Fun DSP won out in the end because I love these spooky trees in the background!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Blackberry Bliss cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of spooky trees in the Frightening Fun DSP was added on top.
Two 2 x 2 squares of Basic White cardstock were brushed with Blackberry Bliss Ink. One was stamped with the spiderweb in the lower left corner using stamped off Gray Granite Ink. They were added at opposite angles on the front.
The moon was cut with the Die from Daffodil Delight cardstock, the cloud from Basic White cardstock, the bat trio from Basic Black cardstock. They were adhered to the front and the bats added with Black Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The ghost was stamped with Basic Black Ink on Basic White cardstock and cut with the die, then added to the bottom square with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The greeting was stamped with Basic Black Ink on 1/2 x 3 Gray Granite cardstock and the end cut at an angle. It was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
A trio of black Adhesive Backed Bags Ghosts & Dots were added to the background.

It’s funny that I don’t use a lot of Blackberry Bliss, but seem to be using it a lot this fall and Halloween! OK, check out what the rest of the Challenge Team did with this challenge over on Create with Stamping Friends.

It’s Thursday and time for our Create with Stamping Friends challenge! This week a fun sketch for you to use.

OH MY FRIGHT

You know I love my Halloween images! This year’s Oh My Fright bundle has a cool spooky tree that I felt would work perfectly for this sketch!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Thick Basic White cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic Gray cardstock was added to the front.
Three 3/4 x 5-1/4 strips of Frightfully Fun DSP were added to the center of the background.
The spooky tree from Oh My Fright Dies was cut from Basic Black cardstock and adhered on the front towards the left side replacing the rectangle shape.
The moon was cut from Daffodil Delight cardstock and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The ghost and cloud were cut from Basic White cardstock and added to the tree and beside the moon with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Two bats were cut from Basic Black cardstock and added on the moon and in the background, flat.
The greeting from Oh My Fright was stamped on 5/8 x 2-1/2 Basic White cardstock and cut to a point on one end, then added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
A trio of white Adhesive Backed Ghosts Bats & Dots were added to the background.
