Welcome to Create with Connie and Mary’s Creatively Simple Challenge! Each month Mary and I will pick a theme. This month the theme is Animals! We will design our cards using this theme!

PERCHED IN A TREE

I love this fat little bird in the Perched in a Tree Stamp Set! So cute! Did you know robins actually come in different colors? I went with the yellow/gold breasted robin for today’s card! I can’t wait to begin seeing the robins come back to Ohio…that means SPRING!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Basic Gray cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Gray Granite cardstock was embossed with the Fall Leaf Embossing Folder (it’s back as an Online Exclusive item!)
The bird and tree limb were stamped with Basic Gray Ink on Basic White cardstock.
The bird was colored with Gray Granite Combo, Daffodil Delight Combo, Pumpkin Pie Combo Stampin’ Blends. The tree limb with Light Gray Granite Stampin’ Blends. Both were cut with the Aspen Dies. The tree limb was added to the front of the card.
The leaves were cut with the Aspen Dies from Parakeet Party cardstock and sponged with Parakeet Party Ink, then added to the front.
The bird was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The greeting from Sweet Songbirds was stamped with Basic Gray Ink on 1/2 x 2 piece of Basic White cardstock and the ends trimmed at an angle. It was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
A trio of gold Milky Dots were added to the background.

CCM Saturday Blog Hop – Fall Trees

This week’s CCM Saturday Blog Hop theme is “Fall trees”. The colors of the trees in Ohio during the fall are so gorgeous…especially when the sun is shining and highlighting the bright colors even more! Are you wondering what stamp set I used to make these trees?

PERCHED IN A TREE

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Early Espresso cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Pumpkin Pie cardstock was adhered on top.
On the 3-7/8 x 5-1/8 piece of Pool Party cardstock:
- Stamp the branch from Perched on a Tree stamp set three times at staggering heights with Early Espresso Ink for the trunks.
- Color the trunks with SU600 Stampin’ Blends.
- Using the solid splatter image with light colors first for the top of the trees. I used Old Olive, Crushed Curry and Pumpkin Pie.
- Using the open splatter image, add Cherry Cobbler and mix in the above colors to fill in as desired.
With a 1-1/4 x 3-7/8 piece of Crumb Cake, repeat with the splatter technique, tear off the top and add to the bottom of the trees, adhere finished Pool Party panel to Pumpkin Pie layer on base card.
On 7/8 x 3-1/2 Basic White cardstock, stamp Perched in a Tree greeting with Early Espresso Ink, cut flag end and adhere to front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Add Champagne Rhinestones randomly to the leaves.

It’s time for our Create with Connie and Mary Inspiration Monday challenge. Look at these fun painted stools!

PERCHED IN A TREE

Here’s what I did with the inspiration using the Perched in a Tree Bundle.

Stampin’ Details:

- The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Smoky Slate cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
- A 4 x 5-1/4 piece of Basic White cardstock was colored along the top with Rich Razzleberry Ink and the bottom with Smoky Slate Ink using the Blending Brushes.
- The tree oval from Aspen Dies was cut from the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic Black cardstock and adhered to the sponged Basic White cardstock. Trim off any excess and then add to the front of the base card.
- A 1/4 x 4 strip of Smoky Slate cardstock was added across the front.
- The greeting from Perched in a Tree was stamped on a 1 x 2-1/4 piece of Rich Razzleberry cardstock with Memento Black Ink and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- A trio of Red & Green Pearls (silver) were added to the background.

It’s time for our Create with Connie and Mary Inspiration Monday challenge! I love the colors in this fall tablescape! I thought my new Perched in a Tree Bundle would be a perfect choice to use.

PERCHED IN A TREE

Stampin’ Details:

- The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Crumb Cake cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
- The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Crumb Cake cardstock is stamp in upper left and lower right with the Perched in a Tree speckle stamp with Crumb Cake Ink and adhered.
- A 1-1/4 x 4-3/4 piece of Tahitian Tide cardstock was angled in the middle.
- A 1-3/4 x 4-3/4 piece of Gingham Cottage Designer Paper was added over it.
- Add a 1/2 x 4 piece of Gold Shimmer Paper across the front.
- The leaves were cut from Tahitian Tide, Pale Papaya and Cajun Craze cardstock with the Aspen Tree Dies and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- The greeting was stamped with Tahitian Tide Ink on a 3/4 x 2-1/2 piece of Basic White cardstock and the end cut at an angle. It was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- Some Natural Woven Ribbon was tied in a bow and added to the front with Mini Glue Dots.
- A trio of Rustic Metallic Pearls were added in the background.
