Look Up to Father

I didn’t get a chance to show this card earlier, made with Stampin’ Up!’s Look Up To Father stamp from the Spring Catalog, because it was my dad’s Father’s Day card and I didn’t want him to see it before he got it!  I really LOVE the greeting in it.  I’m sure this stamp will remain in my special stamps to keep!  And, combining it with Work of Art for this beautiful sunrise/sunset is perfect for him!  I’m not the originator of the sunset idea with Work of Art…I just adapted it for my card.

Here are the details:

  • The base is 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 Mossy Meadow, folded in half.
  • I added a 4 x 5 1/4 layer of Calypso Coral cardstock.
  • On the 3 3/4 x 5 layer of Whisper White, I stamped the tree from Look Up to Father with Black Stazon.  I darkened it even more by dotting on my Basic Black Marker to fill in some of the lighter areas of the tree…but was careful not to lose the airiness of the leaves.
  • I used the Work of Art stamps for the ground with Mossy Meadow Ink, the sun with Daffodil Delight and the sky with Calpyso Coral.
  • Next I used Soft Sky Ink and a sponge to give the appearance of sky in the background.
  • The greeting was stamped with Black Stazon in the lower right area and I added some bling with the trio of Calpyso Coral Candy Dots.

Looks surprisingly simple, right?  Well, I ruined about 2 full sheets of Whisper White trying to get everything lined up correctly!  lol!  But…I do love the outcome!

Work of Art

This was one of the first cards I made when playing around with the Work of Art stamp set (AVAILABLE JUNE 2nd!).  To be honest…it really didn’t come out as I had pictured it in my head!  But I kind of like it…different than what I’ve seen done with this set!  And, I’ve used that Sahara Sand, Crisp Cantaloupe combination again.  LOVE them together!   What do you think?

 

Work of Art

 

Here are the details:

  1. The base is 4 1/4 x 11 Crisp Cantaloupe cardstock, folded in half.
  2. I added a 4 x 5 1/4 layer of Whisper White.
  3. On the 3 3/4 x 4 layer of Sahara Sand, I stamped the swipe image from Work of Art across several times with Sahara Sand ink.
  4. Across the center, I added a 3 3/4 x 1 1/2 piece of In Color Patterned DSP in the Crisp Cantaloupe Polka Dot pattern.
  5. In the center, I punched a 1″ circle from Gold Metallic cardstock, then punched the Artisan Punch around it.  That is popped up on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  6. I stamped the Just For with Crisp Cantaloupe on a 1/2″ strip of Whisper White and tucked the end under the left side and over the right side of the Artisan Punch piece.
  7. Next I stamped You in Black Stazon ink on the Sahara Sand background.
  8. The Bitty Butterflies were punched from another pattern of In Color Patterned DSP and added with Stampin’ Dimensionals to the front.
  9. I used Gold Sequins for the butterfly bodies and a couple extra ones sprinkled in the background.

 

I love the shiny gold accents on here!  Hope you enjoy it, too!!!
