Saturday Blog Hop – Fun with Embossing Paste

It’s Saturday and time for the Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop! Our design team theme is featuring “Fun with Embossing Paste” or embossing if they didn’t have the paste. Lots of techniques for using the paste, I can’t wait to see what the Design Team came up with!

I used the Seasonal Layers Thinlits and Labels to Love Stamp set to create my card. I decided on a background of Very Vanilla cardstock, added the paste and then sponged over the raised areas with Soft Suede. I went with a fall theme, although I’m definitely NOT wishing for the end of summer!

Here are the details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Soft Suede Cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
On the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Very Vanilla, I used a spatula to add the Embossing Paste across the Pattern Party Decorative Mask and let dry. Then sponged over the raised areas with Soft Suede Ink.
I added some Crumb Cake Classic Weave Ribbon across the bottom of the front of the Very Vanilla and adhered in the back.
I used white Glossy Cardstock and sponged on colors of Cherry Cobbler, Pumpkin Pie, Cajun Craze, Old Olive and Crushed Curry Inks, then cut the large and small leaves from Seasonal Layers Thinlits from the colored Glossy Paper. The outline leaf was cut from Gold Metallic Paper.
The greeting from Labels to Love (in the Holiday Catalog) was stamped with Early Espresso Ink on Soft Suede cardstock and punched with the new Everyday Label (in the Holiday catalog) Punch.
All the leaves and labels were added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

CCMC463 Colorful Seasons

It’s Thursday and time for another Create with Connie and Mary challenge! It’s a Case the Catalog challenge again this week!

For my “case the catalog”, I chose to use the layout again this week…along with the delightful Colorful Seasons stamp set. There are just SO many things you can do with this one set! But I especially LOVE the large “just breathe” stamp! Again, so many uses for it…cheer someone up, or just because! This card I think is much prettier than it photographed, too!

Here are the details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Thick Whisper White cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
On top is a 3-3/4 x 5 layer of Soft Sky, placed slightly on an angle.
Next is a 2-1/2 x 4-1/2 piece of Naturally Eclectic Designer Paper on an angle.
A strip of Navy Gingham Ribbon goes across the front and is secured in the back of the Soft Sky layer.
Just breathe was stamped with Night of Navy ink on a 1-1/2 x 4-1/4 piece of Whisper White, then angled on the front of the card.
The large leaf was stamped with Night of Navy Ink on Lemon Lime Twist cardstock, and the small leave was stamped with Lemon Lime Twist Ink on Whisper White, both were cut with the Seasonal Layers Thinlits and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Finally, a few small Rhinestones were scattered on the front for a little bit of bling!

Saturday Blog Hop – Favorite Color Blue

But, it’s Saturday and time for the Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop! Our design team theme is featuring “Our Favorite Blue Color” this week. Although I’m certainly not wishing the summer away, I do LOVE Soft Sky and it naturally pairs with snowflakes. While this card layout isn’t terribly creative (remember, I’m in the middle of a move!), I did use the pretty snowflakes in the Seasonal Layers Thinlets and one of the new embossing folders, Oh My Stars. I felt they resembled snowflakes, too!

Here are the details on this card:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Thick Whisper White cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
The top half of the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Soft Sky was embossed with the Oh My Stars Embossing Folder.
At the bottom, the greeting from Flurry of Wishes was stamped with Memento Black Ink.
The snowflakes from Seasonal Layers Thinlets were cut from Whisper White cardstock, covered with Clear Wink of Stella, and added to the front of the card.
Rhinestone jewels were added to the centers.
