CS174 – Snowy Wonder

Happy New Year’s Eve!  It’s our last Creatively Simple challenge of the year and for our Season’s Greeting theme this month! 

SNOWY WONDER

Of course, we can’t forget about New Year’s!  I love that the stamp set, Snowy Wonder, has a New Year’s greeting in it!  Here’s a quick and easy card idea for you!

 

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Lost Lagoon cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Snowy Scene Designer Paper was added on top (I love these houses and have been hoarding that print!)
  • A 1-1/4 x 4 strip of Poppy Parade cardstock was added to the front.
  • The tag from Greetings of the Season Dies was cut from Basic White cardstock and stamped with the Happy New Year greeting from Snowy Wonder stamp set in Poppy Parade ink towards the top.
  • The cabin was stamped with Lost Lagoon Ink on scrap Basic White cardstock and cut with the Snowy Wonder Dies.  The windows were colored with Light Daffodil Delight Blends and the door with Dark Poppy Parade Blends.
  • Some Real Red & White Baker’s Twine was doubled and tied thru the tag hole into a bow.
  • The tag was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Two large Iridescent Faceted Gems were added to the Poppy Parade strip.

Saturday Blog Hop – Let It Snow

It’s Saturday and time for our Create with Stamping Friends Blog Hop.  This week we are featuring snow cards…one of my favorite themes!

SNOWY WONDER

Of course, I have quite the selection of snowman, snowflake, snow stamps and dies!  I really like the snowman in Snowy Wonder because he is nice and easy to stamp and go!  There are not a lot of fussy pieces to cut and assemble to make him look complete.

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Pool Party cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
  • The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Snowy Scenes Designer Paper is cut with the heart shape from the new online exclusive, Heart of Elegance dies.  (Save that heart for another project!)  Add the layer to the front of the base card with Foam Strips,
  • The snowman, hat, and candy cane were all stamped with Memento Black Ink on Basic White and cut with the Snowy Wonder Dies.  They were colored with Poppy Parade, Pumpkin Pie, Bubble Bath and Pool Party Stampin’ Blends.  They were added to the inside of the heart with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • A hat band was just a sliver cut from Poppy Parade cardstock.
  • The scarf is Real Red & White Baker’s Twine tied in a knot around his neck.
  • Three snowflakes from Snowy Wonder were cut with the die from Basic White and added around the heart.
  • The Real Red & White Peppermints were added to the center of the snowflakes and on his hat band.
  • Let it Snow from Snowy Wonder stamp set was stamped with Memento Black Ink inside the heart.

Another Thursday and you know that means it is time for a Create with Stamping Friends Thursday Challenge. What a unique sketch!  I’m excited to see what the Challenge Team does with this!

SNOWY WONDER

I liked the grid, but thought it needed a little sumthin’ sumthin’!  I ended up doing a little focal element with the penguin from Snowy Wonder!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Garden Green cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
  • The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic White cardstock was added on top.
  • I cut three 1/2 x 4 strips and three 1/2 x 3-1/4 strips of Snowy Scenes Designer Paper in two patterns (actually the reverse of each other).  They were weaved on the front and adhered.
  • Let it Snow from Snowy Wonder stamp set was stamped with Memento Black Ink in the bottom right corner.
  • I punched a 2″ Circle from Pool Party cardstock and stamped the snow flurries with White Craft Ink all over the background randomly.
  • I tore a 1 x 3 piece of Basic White cardstock across the top for the snowbank.  I added it to the bottom of the circle and trimmed off the excess.
  • Two trees were stamped with Garden Green Ink on scrap Basic White cardstock, colored with Light Lemon Lime Twist Stampin’ Blends, and cut with the Snowy Wonder Dies.  The penguin was hand-cut from the designer paper.  All were added to the circle with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.  The circle was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Saturday Blog Hop – Non-Traditional Christmas Colors

It’s Saturday and time for our Create with Stamping Friends Blog Hop. This week it is Non-Traditional Christmas Colors!  I know…we do this theme every Christmas, but I LOVE it!  Always so fun to see what everyone does!

SNOWY WONDER

Usually, I will go with snowflakes when designing for this theme…but this year I was inspired by the MANY colors of Christmas trees that are out there!  For us, we have a traditional tree with coordinating ornaments for upstairs.  Then for the basement tree, we have a white tree with bright multicolored (neon!) lights on it!  This tree is the one that I add our huge Hallmark Frosty Friends series of ornaments (started the first year we got married 45 years ago!), my destination ornaments, and a few other snowmen ornaments I’ve collected over the years.  Oh…and the kid’s baby ornaments!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Summer Splash cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic White cardstock was added on top.
  • The tree from Snowy Wonder stamp set was stamped on Basic White cardstock with Peach Pie twice, Summer Splash twice, Petunia Pop twice, and Pretty in Pink three times.  They were cut with the tree Snowy Wonder Die and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The greeting in Snowy Wonder stamp set was stamped with Summer Splash Ink on Basic White and hand-cut around the letters, then added to the center tree with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • A trio of clear Drusy Adhesive Backed Embellishments give the sparkle it needs to really shine!

Welcome to our Create with Stamping Friends Inspiration Monday challenges.  Isn’t this snowman winter print so pretty!  I wouldn’t mind having it in my house!

SNOWY WINTER

It was fun to build this little snowman scene using Snowy Winter!  He’s a CUTE snowman!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Misty Moonlight cardstock, score at 4-1/4 and folded.
  • A 3-3/4 x 5 layer of Misty Moonlight cardstock was stamped across the top with the flurries image in White Craft Ink.
  • The moon is a 1″ circle from Basic White cardstock, sponged with Balmy Blue Ink and adhered.
  • A 3 x 5 piece of Basic White cardstock was torn across the top and added in layers for the snowbank.  Some Balmy Blue Ink was slightly brushed on the tops with a Blending Brush.
  • On Basic White, I stamped five large mountains with Night of Navy Ink, the cabin with Pecan Ink, three trees with Shaded Spruce Ink and the snowman and hat with Memento Black Ink.  All were cut with the Snowy Wonder Dies and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The cabin windows were colored with Daffodil Delight and door with Cajun Craze, the snowman nose with Pumpkin Pie Stampin’ Blends.
  • Some Red & White Baker’s Twine was added to the snowman for his scarf.
  • A White Loose Snowflake was adhered to his hat.
  • Let it Snow was stamped with Night of Navy Ink in the snowbank.

Welcome to Create with Stamping Friends Creatively Simple Challenge!  Each month Debbie and I will pick a theme for our simple cards.  Our September theme is “Feathered Friends”.   So many great bird images in Stampin’ Up!’s lineup…this should be fun!

SNOWY WONDER

There is a cute little penguin in the new Snowy Wonder Stamp Set that I thought would be perfect for my feathered friends card this week!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Misty Moonlight cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic White was embossed with the Snowflake Sky Embossing Folder and added to the front.
  • The snowflake Iconic Celebrations 6×6 DSP was cut with the Spotlight on Nature circle and added to the front. The coordinating stripe DSP was cut 1/2 x 3-3/4 and added across the bottom of the circle.
  • The penguin was stamped with Memento Black Ink and colored with Pumpkin Pie Stampin’ Blends.  The tree was stamped with Garden Green Ink.  Both were cut with the Snowy Wonder Dies.  An additional small tree was cut from Granny Apple Green, and all added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The greeting was stamped with Memento Black Ink o 3/4 x 2-1/2 Misty Moonlight cardstock and the ends cut at an angle.  It was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • A trio of Rhinestone Jewels were added to the background.

Welcome to our Create with Stamping Friends Inspiration Monday challenges.  This week’s inspiration challenge is a colorful ice cream cone!  Look at all those flavors!

SNOWY WONDER

So, I kind of went around about way to pulling this card together!  I knew I wanted circles in the background like the scoops of ice cream, but debated on what stamp set to use!  I was thinking ice cream is cold…snow is cold…a snowman…why not use the new Snowy Wonder Bundle?  It worked!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Basic Beige cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • Circles were cut with the Spotlight on Nature Dies from Petunia Pop, Granny Apple Green, Pretty in Pink, Early Espresso and Gorgeous Grape and then assembled on a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic Beige cardstock.
  • The smallest two snowflakes from Snowy Wonder stamp set were stamped on the circles using VersaMark Ink (it has been a little bit since I’ve done this tone-on-tone technique!)
  • The 1-1/2 x 4 piece of Basic White cardstock was torn across the top and added to the bottom for a ground of snow.  The greeting was stamped with Memento Black Ink towards the left.
  • The snowman and hat from Snowy Wonder were stamped with Memento Black Ink and two trees with Granny Apple Green Ink on Basic White cardstock.  They were cut with the Dies.  The trunks were colored with Pecan Pie, the nose colored with Pumpkin Pie, and the shadows around the body with Light Pool Party Stampin’ Blends.  They were added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Some White Loose Snowflakes were added to the background circles, the top of the trees, and on his hat!
