CS116 – Magical Meadow

Welcome to Create with Connie and Mary’s Creatively Simple Challenge! Each month Mary and I will pick a theme for our simple cards. This month the theme is “Tis the Season” cards!

MAGICAL MEADOW

This didn’t turn out exactly like I was thinking it would in my head…but it does give a different look for this stamp! I wanted the look of a continuous snowbank under the trees.

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Lost Lagoon cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
On the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic White cardstock, the trees from Magical Meadow Stamp Set were stamped on each side in Lost Lagoon Ink and the greeting with Memento Black Ink.
The 1-3/4 x 3 piece of Basic White cardstock was stamped with the trees again in Lost Lagoon Ink, then cut with a banner at the bottom.
A 1 x 1 piece of Snowflake Magic Specialty Designer Paper was cut with a banner at the bottom, then added under the Basic White Banner, and adhered to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals between the trees so the snowbanks looked continuous.
A couple silver Faceted Gems Trio Pack were added at the bottom.

IM50 – Nothing Sweeter

It’s Monday and time for another Inspiration Monday on Create with Connie and Mary! LOVE these Real Red/Whisper White and Crumb Cake ornaments! Reminds me of the Christmas Trees that I used to decorate when we were first married…we had a white flock tree and I loved the pop of red ornaments on them.

These also reminded me of a card that I did MANY years ago using Christmas trees…I recreated it with the updated stamp set, Nothing Sweeter…I absolutely LOVE the stitching on these images! SO cute!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Real Red cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
The 3-5/8 x 4-7/8 layer of Whisper White cardstock is added on front.
Along the bottom of the 3-1/2 x 4-3/4 layer of Crumb Cake cardstock are two torn pieces of Whisper White cardstock to resemble snow banks.
The greeting from Nothing Sweeter is stamped with Real Red Ink. The snowflake in the stamp set was stamped with White Craft Ink in the background randomly.
The trees from were stamped with Crumb Cake Ink and the trim with Real Red Ink on Whisper White cardstock and then cut and embossed with the Sweetly Stitched Framelits. The background was added to the back snowbank and the front one popped up with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The bottom “tree bases” were cut from Real Red cardstock with the Sweetly Stitched Framelits.
The stars were cut from Red Glimmer Paper using the star in the Framelits.
The Red Rhinestones were added to the red trim for some extra bling!

SUOC143 Thoughtful Branches

We have a neat challenge this time over on SUO Challenges…black and white with a POP of color! How fun is that? My mind was busy trying to figure out what I’d use, but then my new Thoughtful Branches Bundle came in and I just HAD to break it in! My inspiration was a beautiful BRIGHT PINK tree that I saw…it was gorgeous and I had never seen anything like it.

Here are the details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Basic Black, folded in half to form the base card.
On the 3-3/4 x 5 layer of Whisper White, a 1 x 3-3/4 strip of the Chevron pattern from Pop of Pink Specialty Paper was added to the bottom, the a 1/4 x 3-3/4 strip of the diagonal pink stripe pattern was placed across the top on a diagonal.
The tree and branches were cut with the Beautiful Branches Thinlet Dies from Basic Black cardstock.
The top blossoms from Thoughtful Branches stamp set were stamped with Melon Mambo Ink on Melon Mambo cardstock, then cut with the leaves thinlet die. I carefully added Foam Strips behind the leaves to pop it up from the branches.
You’re in my Thoughts from Thoughtful Branches was stamped with Memento Black Ink in the upper right corner.
Some Rhinestones were scattered in the background.

CCMC Saturday Blog Hop – Mossy Meadow

It’s time for the Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Design Team Blog Hop! This month we are featuring the retiring In Colors…and Mossy Meadow (my FAVORITE) is up this week! I LOVE this green! Dark yet bright and rich looking!

Here are the details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Thick Whisper White cardstock, folded in half.
The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Mossy Meadow is embossed with the Woodgrain folder.
Across the front is 2 x 5-1/4 strip of Tip Top Taupe striped pattern from the In Colors DSP Pack.
A 2 x 4-1/2 piece of Whisper White was punched with the Ornate Tag Topper punch. It is stamped with the trees from In The Meadow stamp set with Mossy Meadow Ink and colored with Mossy Meadow and Crumb Cake Markers.
More grass was added along the bottom with Mossy Meadow Ink.
The tag was tied with 1-1/4 White Jute Ribbon, cut to about 1/2″ width. It was tied with Linen Thread in a bow, then the Jute was shredded. The tag was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The greeting from In the Meadow was stamped with Mossy Meadow Ink on a 3/4″ strip of Tip Top Taupe cardstock, cut a flag end and tucked under the tag.
