CCMC738 – Joyful Flurry

Hello!  It’s Thursday and you know that means it is time for a Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge.  Hmm, interesting colors…could go SO many different ways!  I decided to go with a winter color theme (although I’m definitely not ready for that type of weather!)

JOYFUL FLURRY

Many of you know that I can’t resist a snowman or snowflake stamp set!  I love that some of the coordinating snowflake dies in the Joyful Flurry Bundle only partially cut thru so that you can lift the edges and create dimension.  Sorry, I only used the cut-out snowflakes on here today and stamped the rest.  But I’ll share those dimensional snowflakes soon!

 

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Smoky Slate cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • The 4 x 5-1/4 panel of Basic White was stamped with the Joyful Flurry large snowflake in Pool Party Ink, the medium snowflake in Fresh Freesia Ink and the small snowflake in stamped off Smoky Slate Ink towards the bottom right corner.  It was adhered to the base card.
  • A 1/2 x 3-1/4 strip of Fresh Freesia cardstock was added to the front.
  • Joyful Wishes from Joyful Flurry stamp set was stamped with Memento Black Ink on Pool Party cardstock.  The speckle image was randomly stamped with Pool Party Ink around the greeting.  It was punched with the Handmade Tag Punch and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Two small snowflakes were cut from Silver Metallic Paper with the Frosted Flurry Dies and tucked around the tag.
  • A trio of Iridescent Rhinestones were added to the centers of the larger snowflakes.

CCMC271 Snow Day

This week we have a fun sketch challenge for you.  It's really a quick type sketch!  I've ended up making 3 different cards using it!  The first one was the get well card I made for Shelli a week or so ago that you might remember.  Then I made another fall card for this challenge…then decided that I would switch it out with a Winter card since we just opened up Early Bird Savings for our WINTER Collection of Create with Connie and Mary!  Have you seen our new look?  Check it out over on Create with Connie and Mary!

 

 

I used Snow Day for my Go Divas swap the other day and had one of these snowman left over.  I cut him out and placed him in a snow bank to show the divided background.  I also extended my card to regular size instead of the square card shown in the sketch!  Love the flexibility!  He also sparkles with Dazzling Details!

 

 

Here are the details:

  1. The base is 4 1/4 x 11 Whisper White, folded in half.
  2. A layer of 4 x 5 1/4 Cherry Cobbler was added, then a 3 3/4 x 5 layer of Pool Party, embossed with Perfect Polka Dots folder.
  3. I tore Whisper White for the snowbanks.
  4. The snowman from Snow Day is stamped off Smoky Slate Ink, with a Coastal Cabana hat and Cherry Cobbler scarf, Basic Black face and buttons, plus Chocolate Chip stick arms and a Pumpkin Pie nose.  He is cut out and popped up on the front with Stampin' Dimensionals.
  5. I added Dazzling Details to the snow and the sides of the snowman.
  6. I stamped the greeting from Tags 4 You in Cherry Cobbler and punched with the Bracket Label Punch, then placed on the front with Stampin' Dimensionals
  7. I added a little bling with Rhinestones on the scarf knot and the greeting!

How FUN is he????  I'm thinking this might be my Christmas card this year if I can figure out how to streamline it a little bit!
