Oops…that should be challenge SUOC84! I can't change the title now or the link will be broken! Our theme this time over on SUO Challenges is anything with Snow or Snowflakes! That's pretty easy for me, since I love them both and ALWAYS buy snow themed stamp sets! I had an idea in my head for a while to incorporate the word SNOW with the Snow Day snowman…here's the result! OK…I think it is clever! lol!

I knew I needed to use a little longer card so the words wouldn't be squished (technical term) together too badly, so I made a 3 x 6 size. With our new Envelope Punch Board, making an envelope will be a snap…and completely mailable! Here are the details:

The base Island Indigo cardstock is cut 6×6 and folded in half to make the 3×6 card.
I embossed the 2 3/4 x 5 3/4 layer of Soft Sky with the Perfect Polka Dots folder.
Along the bottom, I tore a couple strips of Whisper White to make the snowdrifts.
I stamped the snowman day with Smoky Slate (stamped off to make it lighter) with Smoky Slate Ink on scrap Whisper White, then cut him out. The scarf is Real Red, nose is Pumpkin Pie, face is Basic Black, and arms are Chocolate Chip Inks. He's popped up on the front with Stampin' Dimensionals and I trimmed off the excess on his bottom.
For the hat, I cut a 1" square of Basic Black and angled the sides a little. I brushed the top with a little Whisper White Craft Ink. I cut another 1 1/4" strip of Basic Black for the hat brim. Then I trimmed a small piece of Red Glimmer Paper for the hat band.
The letters were cut with the Typeset Alphabet Dies and Silver Gliimmer Paper.
Finally, I added some Dazzling Details Glitter to the snowdrifts and his body for extra sparkle!

I love how this turned out! I'm thinking of making a few of these for my family Christmas cards this year! I won't make 75 of them…but maybe a dozen or so!

It's time for another Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge! This week it is a Color Challenge…perfect for Christmas or Winter! I've used it a lot with Snow Day, so pulled that out again to use today! Make sure to check over on Create with Connie and Mary to see what the Challenge Team has done this week with these colors!

I also wanted to use the single stamp "tag", Be Merry! I thought it worked out perfectly for the background greeting.

Here are the details:

The base is 4 1/4 x 11 Coastal Cabana, folded in half.
I added a 4 x 5 1/4 piece of Real Red cardstock, embossed with the Stylish Stripes folder.
I stamped the Be Merry single stamp with Real Red on Whisper White and cut it out, then colored the leaves with the Coastal Cabana marker.
Along the bottom, I added a 1 1/2 x 4 piece of Winter Frost DSP and added the Coastal Cabana Ruffled Ribbon along the top and a 1/4" strip of Silver Glimmer Paper along the bottom.
I stamped off the snowman in Snow Day with Smoky Slate Ink onto Whisper White. Then added the face with Black Stazon, nose with Pumpkin Pie, scarf and hat with Coastal Cabana. I cut him with the Circle Framelits and layered on the next size Circle Framelit of Coastal Cabana. He is popped up with Stampin' Dimensionals on the front of the card.
At the top, I added a Silver Glimmer Star on the small Circle Framelit of Coastal Cabana and added a Rhinestone to his scarf.

Note: When I purchased this stamp, I knew I'd use it more for a greeting than for a To/From Tag, so I cut out that portion of the image. I keep it in the same bag so I can use it only when I actually want it!

We have a great color challenge for you this week on Create with Connie and Mary's Thursday Challenge! I pulled out Snow Day…one of my favorites in the Holiday Catalog!

Here's my Snow Day card…quite appropriate as yesterday we had our FIRST snowfall of the season! I'm SO not ready! It was only about 1/2 inch or so…but it is still supposed to be FALL!

Here are the details:

The 4 1/4 x 11 base of Raspberry Ripple is folded in half.
I added a 4 x 5 1/4 layer of Soft Sky, embossed with the Stylish Stripes folder.
I added a 2 x 4 piece of Silver Glimmer Paper with a Raspberry Ripple Scallop Punched Border under it.
The 2 3/4 x 3 1/2 Very Vanilla panel was stamped with the Snow Day snowman in Soft Sky Ink, then added the accessories on top.
There is a Rhinestone Jewel on his hat and on the knot of his scarf.
Finally, I cut Merry from Raspberry Ripple and attached to the front.

CCMC271 Snow Day

This week we have a fun sketch challenge for you. It's really a quick type sketch! I've ended up making 3 different cards using it! The first one was the get well card I made for Shelli a week or so ago that you might remember. Then I made another fall card for this challenge…then decided that I would switch it out with a Winter card since we just opened up Early Bird Savings for our WINTER Collection of Create with Connie and Mary! Have you seen our new look? Check it out over on Create with Connie and Mary!

I used Snow Day for my Go Divas swap the other day and had one of these snowman left over. I cut him out and placed him in a snow bank to show the divided background. I also extended my card to regular size instead of the square card shown in the sketch! Love the flexibility! He also sparkles with Dazzling Details!

Here are the details:

The base is 4 1/4 x 11 Whisper White, folded in half.
A layer of 4 x 5 1/4 Cherry Cobbler was added, then a 3 3/4 x 5 layer of Pool Party, embossed with Perfect Polka Dots folder.
I tore Whisper White for the snowbanks.
The snowman from Snow Day is stamped off Smoky Slate Ink, with a Coastal Cabana hat and Cherry Cobbler scarf, Basic Black face and buttons, plus Chocolate Chip stick arms and a Pumpkin Pie nose. He is cut out and popped up on the front with Stampin' Dimensionals.
I added Dazzling Details to the snow and the sides of the snowman.
I stamped the greeting from Tags 4 You in Cherry Cobbler and punched with the Bracket Label Punch, then placed on the front with Stampin' Dimensionals
I added a little bling with Rhinestones on the scarf knot and the greeting!

How FUN is he???? I'm thinking this might be my Christmas card this year if I can figure out how to streamline it a little bit!
