Today over on Create with Connie and Mary, we have a fabulous color challenge! I'm so excited to see what wonderful cards you all come up with! Last year we did Silver Glimmer and Whisper White for the holidays. This time we are using the new Champagne Glimmer and Very Vanilla combination!

And here is my card, using Winter Memories! I kept if very simple because the Glimmer Paper and the Gold Embossing make it look so rich!

Here are the details:

I cut Very Vanilla to 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and folded in half for my base card.
I added another layer of Very Vanilla cut to 5 1/4 x 4.
I embossed Christmas Blessing from More Merry Messages with Gold Embossing Powder on the bottom right.
I cut a 2 x 4 piece of Champagne Glimmer Paper, then cut the flag on the end, it is placed on top.
I cut a Very Vanilla Label Framelit (3rd from smallest) and embossed the skates with Gold Embossing powder on top.
I added a Gold Glimmer Brad to the center of the holly, the placed the skates piece on the front of the card with Stampin' Dimensionals.

CCMC227 – Snowman Punch Art

We have a special challenge this week on Create with Connie and Mary. Actually, it is a DOUBLE challenge and it lasts TWO weeks because of the Thanksgiving holiday in the US! In addition to the sketch challenge below, we added a SHAPE challenge to it…use your dies or framelits to make a shaped card!

And, here is my shaped card with the Punch Art Snowman! You may remember that I made up this punch art snowman card last year…you can see it HERE. I resurrected the snowman to use it on my shaped card, but added a few twists!

Here are the details:

Cut two of the Label Framelits (second largest size) from Primrose Petals cardstock. Score one of the approx. 3/4" from edge. Place Sticky Strip on the 3/4" edge. Adhere the two pieces together to form the base card.
Trim off the point on the bottom edges so that the card stands straight.
Add two 3/4" strips of Snow Festival Designer Paper along the left side, trim off excess to form shape of card.
Using the Circles #2 die, cut three of the largest sized circles from Whisper White cardstock. Sponge around the edges of the circles with Baja Breeze ink.
Stack the circles together to form Snowman, adhering each layer with Stampin' Dimensionals.
Use the Star punch from Merry Mini Trio Punch to make the nose from Pumpkin Pie, the Owl punch for the 1/4" circle Basic Black eyes (highlight with a white gel pen), arms from the Modern Label Punch and Early Espresso cardstock.
To form the hat, cut a 1" square of Basic Black. Punch half the width of the Modern Label punch, put back in and cut the width down to approx. 1 1/4" wide. Adhere to the 1" square along the bottom. Add a small trim of Primrose Petals cardstock for the hat band.
Fold a 3" piece of Primrose Petals Ribbon in half and adhere to snowman neck with Mini Glue Dots. I fringed the ends of the ribbon for the scarf.
Stamp Winter Wishes from Winter Memories in Black Stazon on 1/2" Whisper White strip and cut flag end. Cut off the word "warm".
Stamp the holly from Winter Memories in Black Stazon on scrap Whisper White and color with Primrose Petals, Lucky Limeade and Old Olive Markers. Cut out and adhere to hat band.
Add rhinestone jewels for buttons down the front of the punch art snowman.

Isn't he FUN??? I love how he turned out on my shaped card!!! The card fits in a normal sized envelope, too!

This is fun special fold card with a cut out window! Here are the details!

Cut two pieces of Cherry Cobbler cardstock at 4 1/4 x 5 1/2.
With the 5 1/2 at the top of the Simply Scored Tool, score at 1/2, 1, 4 1/2 & 5.
On top piece, cut a window with the Window Frame Framelit between the score lines.
Stamp Winter Memories image on a 3 1/4 x 4 piece of Whisper White with Black Stazon. Watercolor with AquaPainter and Stampin' Up! Markers, adhere inside back panel.
Adhere the two side edges together with Sticky Strip.
Push the score lines out opposite on the front and back to make it form a 3D window (from edge, valley then mountain folds).
Decorate the side 1/2 panels with Be of Good Cheer Designer Paper.
Add 1/2" strip of Gumball Green, stamped with Warm Winter Wishes greeting on front.
Add Rhinestone jewels on each side of greeting for some extra bling.

Hope everyone enjoyed their weekend! My husband and I celebrated our 33rd Wedding Anniversary. Yes…I was just a baby when we got married! lol!

This week Create with Connie and Mary Holiday Edition 2012 has moved on to the winter sets in the Holiday Mini, so I've moved on this week, too! I found a sketch over on Freshly Made Sketches that I really liked and used Stampin' Up!'s Winter Memories stamp set to follow it! It also fit with Technostamper's Monday Lunchtime Sketch TSSC240 and The Paper Players Tic Tac Toe PP115 of Christmas/Bling/Ribbon. Wow…three challenges! That rarely happens for me!

Here's my card. Although I love all the images in this Winter Memories set, the hanging ice skates especially appeal to me! I used the Woodgrain Embossing Folder on the Crumb Cake circle behind them in hopes that it looked like they were hanging on a door or in the barn…just waiting for someone to grab them and ice skate!

Here are the details!

The base card is 4 1/4 x 11 Cherry Cobbler cardstock, folded in half.
I layered on 4 1/8 x 5 3/8" Panel of Very Vanilla that I de-bossed with the snowflake embossing folder (I wanted the snowflake on the right side)
I added 2 x 4 1/8" strip of Festival of Prints Designer Paper Pack (LOVE those small sizes for cards!)
I stamped the ice skates image with Early Espresso and carefully watercolored with Crumb Cake, Sahara Sand, Lucky Limeade and Always Artichoke.
I added some bling with a Cherry Cobbler Brad for the "berries"
I punched a 2 1/2" Circle from Crumb Cake and embossed with the Woodgrain folder, then applied Early Espresso ink with a sponge dauber.
It is layered on a Window Frame Framelit of Cherry Cobbler, then popped up on the front with Stampin' Dimensionals.
I stamped Warm Winter Wishes in Cherry Cobbler on the bottom of the Very Vanilla layer.
Before placing on the base card, I wrapped Lucky Limeade Ruffled RIbbon around and tied a knot.

I'm debating whether or not this will be my Christmas card this year. I usually do snowmen or snowflakes, but this has a nice winter theme to it, too! I don't know, though…cutting out 125 of those ice skates may be a pain! lol! Hope you like it!

Day 3 Preview and Winter Memories

To celebrate our Day 3 Preview, I've made a card, too. Since I already did Fall and Halloween, I think I'd continue on today with Christmas. Winter Memories is one of my FAVORITE sets in the Holiday Catalog…and I always use a theme of snowmen on my Christmas cards. This card came together from scraps on my desk…got to LOVE that!

It started with the Designer Paper from Festival of Prints Paper Pack…have you looked at these prints? They really are CUTE. I liked this plaid one because it gave me a feel of vintage country. Underneath I added the Adorning Accents Edgelit with Soft Suede cardstock. Across the top, I already had the Cherry Cobbler Fancy Fan print made…it is the Coredinations paper and sanded for extra texture. I wrapped some Soft Suede Taffeta Ribbon around and tied a bow. All this was placed on Very Vanilla cardstock.

I stamped the snowman scene from Winter Memories in Black Stazon on Very Vanilla and watercolored with my AquaPainters and Stampin' Write Markers in Soft Suede, Cherry Cobbler and Basic Gray. It is cut out with the Labels Collection Framelits. Then I cut a smaller Label Framelit from Soft Suede, cut it in half and layered it behind the image. It is popped up with Stampin' Dimensionals. Finally, I stamped Merry Christmas from Teeny Tiny Wishes in Black Stazon for the greeting.
