Week 3 Blog Hop: Painted Petals Favor

WOOHOO! It’s Saturday and over on Create with Connie and Mary Spring Collection 2015 we are showing off the sets we used this past week with a BLOG HOP!!! You probably have just come from Deb Currier’s blog…love her little favor, don’t you? Before you take the tour, here is some information about our Spring Collection 2015 session:

We are just finishing up Week 3 on our Create with Connie and Mary Spring Collection 2015! This week was Card “Create”tions Week…sets of four cards using different stamp sets in the Occasions Catalog…a very popular week! I used Stampin’ Up!’s stamp set, Painted Petals, for my card set this week that subscribers saw this past Thursday! So, I’ve made a little favor you can make to go along with the card set for your class or gift!

Slip off the belly band and open it up to store your little treat!

I know you are going to want measurements, right? Here you go!

The base is 3 1/2 x 11 Pistachio Pudding, scored at 3-3/4, 4-1/4, and 8-1/4, fold all scorelines inside towards the center.
Emboss the front panel (closest two the double score lines) with Spring Flowers folder.
On the edge closest to the single score line, push the Word Window punch in as far as it will go and punch the width needed for your treat.
Place a piece of Sticky Strip on that same end, place your treat, then press the Sticky Strip flap down to hold it in place.
On the front, add a 3-1/4 x 3-1/2 piece of Something Borrowed Designer Paper.
For the belly band, cut a 1 x 11 piece of Crisp Cantaloupe cardstock. Score at 5-1/4 and 5-3/4, wrap around base. Add Sahara Sand Lace to bottom of front piece.
Pierce a hole on the open ends and place a Candy Dot Brad Base. Add green Subtles Candy Dot to center. Trim ends with a flag cut.
Cut second from smallest Oval with Oval Framelits from Whisper White cardstock. Stamp Thank You in Tuxedo Black Ink, the stems with Pistachio Pudding, the flowers with Crisp Cantaloupe and the dotted line with Calypso Coral. Sponge around edges with Pistachio Pudding Ink. Add to Belly Band with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Tie a Coastal Cabana bow and add to stems with Mini Glue Dot.

Henry Says Favor

We are just ending up Week 2 over on Create with Connie and Mary's Card "Create"tions for All Occasions! Like we did last week, all of the designers have come up with a little favor to go along with the stamp set they featured this week. Mine, obviously, was the Henry Says stamp set from the Spring Mini! I made this cute little fold-over box! EDIT: Directions are now included below!

Inside I have a little cello bag full of candies.

Here are the directions on how to make the two-piece box.

Cut one Lucky Limeade piece 2 1/2 x 10 3/4 for the fold over sleeve, score at 2 1/4, 3 1/4, and 7 1/4.
Cut a second Lucky Limeade piece for the box inside at 4 1/2 x 5 1/2. With the 4 1/2 at top of Simply Scored Tool, score at 1 and 3 1/2. Turn and with 5 1/2 at top, score at 2 1/4 and 3 1/4. Cut out center tab pieces on each side of box piece and adhere flaps together on each side.
Fold sleeve pieces on score lines. Adhere bottom of box to the 1" area on the sleeve piece.
Fold 2 1/4 piece on sleeve up over front of the box and adhere.
Adhere back of box to back portion of the sleeve.
Cut a 1 1/2 x 2 1/2 piece of Lucky Limeade, emboss with the Delicate Designs Folder and trim with the Large Scallop Edgelit.
Adhere just the bottom of the embossed piece to the bottom front of the sleeve. You want room for the top flap to fit down behind the embossed piece to keep the box closed.
Cut 2 1/4 x 3 1/4 piece of Floral District Designer Paper and adhere on the front.
Then I stamped the trio of blackbirds from Henry Says stamp set on Whisper White with Black Stazon, stamped the pennant again with Melon Mambo and placed over the black one with Stampin' Dimensionals. I cut it out with the Label Framelits and layered on a Decorated Label Punch of Melon Mambo cardstock. It is popped up on the front with Stampin' Dimensionals!
Cut out the small flower from one of the DSP prints and add to top with a Rhinestone Jewel in the center.

It turned out really cute and I think my Stamp Clubs will be making one of these this month!!! They should like it!

Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Challenge

Time for another Saturday Challenge for subscribers of Create with Connie and Mary Holiday Edition CCMC-HM4! We offer prizes to those who participate…another great reason to join! It's not too late…you still have access to all the past projects! This week we have been featuring the Design-A-House…lots of FUN ideas have been shared! To carry on the theme, this week's challenge is a small hostess gift…you know…something you'd take to someone's house that is hosting a dinner or other event! Just a small thank you gift. The Design Team has come up with some great ideas!

My idea carries out the theme of "houses"…a bird cage…a house for birds! Well, yes…it is a stretch! So…on to my hostess gift! I found these bird cages at the local craft store in the $1 bin. They were all different colors, so I spray painted it gold to start.

I used the Two Tags Bigz Die with Crumb Cake cardstock and cut out the larger tag. I stamped Stampin' Up! Bells & Boughs image TWICE in Stazon Black Ink on Shimmery White cardstock and colored with Poppy Parade, Real Red, Wild Wasabi and Old Olive Stampin' Write Markers. I cut it out, then cut out the larger poinsettia from the second image and added it on top with Stampin' Dimensionals. I stamped Merry Christmas with Versamark on Shimmery White and embossed with Gold Embossing Powder, then cut into a pennant shape. I added the Tasteful Trim XL Diecut in Early Espresso along the bottom, then a Vintage Brad (I love these brads!). In the center of the Poinsettias, I placed small half backed Pearls. Then I colored the Pearls with my More Mustard Stampin' Write Marker. It isn't a permanent color because it will wipe off, but I didn't think people would be really touching it anyway. At the top, I tied on the tag to the bird cage with the Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding Ribbon.

Something fun, is that the top lifts off the bird cage so you can place something in it. I found these votives in the same $1 area with snowflakes on the side and gold and silver colors. It fits perfectly inside. I added a couple Stampin' Dimensionals on the bottom to help hold it in place. Then I put in a Votive Candle inside. WARNING: I'd take off the tag before lighting the candle!

Wouldn't these be cute hanging on your tree or as a little decoration on your table? A sweet little hostess gift!

Pumpkin Treat Holder

Once a month, I do a Thrifty 3D Wednesday posting over on Stamping 411! This month, I chose to do a tutorial on this cute little Treat Holder you could use for Halloween or Thanksgiving! I plan on putting one at each of the place settings at our Thanksgiving Dinner. They are thrifty because you can get 5 of them out of ONE piece of 12×12 cardstock! A little DSP, some brads…and a quick and easy little treat is done!

Inside I have a little square of DOVE chocolate…yummy!
