Saturday Blog Hop – Texture Time

It’s Saturday and time for our Create with Connie and Mary Blog Hop. This week our theme is “Texture Time”.  We are to feature a type of texture…embossing folder, paste, or whatever medium we want to use!  As you know,

Mary is retiring at the end of  March, so this is her last Saturday Blog Hop post!  Safe travels, Mary!  Debbie Henderson will be taking over her spot as my partner with Create with Stamping Friends!

ARTISTICALLY INKED

As the Retiring Lists come out, it makes me go through my “older” sets and want to use them again a couple last times!  One of my favorites when it came out was Artistically Inked and I’ve used several of the retiring In Colors!  I’ve also paired it with the Layered Florals Embossing Folder for lots of texture and an updated look!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Sweet Sorbet cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • The 3-3/4 x 5 piece of Basic White cardstock was embossed with the Layered Florals EF and added to the front.
  • A 1-1/4 x 3-3/4 strip of Smoky Slate cardstock was added across the bottom.
  • The flower was stamped on Basic White with Sweet Sorbet, the smaller flowers and greeting with Tranquil Tide, and the leaves with Parakeet Party, all were cut with the Artistic Dies and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Some Iridescent Pearls were added to the centers of the flowers.

CS19 – Get Well

Welcome to Create with Connie and Mary’s Creatively Simple Challenge!  Each month Mary and I will pick a theme…this month it is “Get Well”, and we each create a simple card every week using that theme!

I used the annual catalog set, Artistically Inked, for today’s Simple Challenge!  The flowers and abstract images make one-layer cards pretty easy to make!  I use this greeting a LOT when sending off Get Well cards and decided to use it as my focal image.

NOTE:  Wow…I blew it!  Somehow this greeting from a retired set called Thoughts & Prayers ended up in my Artistically Inked stamp set box.  But I still love this card!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Polished Pink cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
  • The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic White cardstock was stamped with the watercolor swoosh image in Fresh Freesia Ink in the bottom right and top left.  The swirl flower was stamped with Polished Pink Ink and the leaves with Soft Succulent.
  • The greeting from retired Thoughts & Prayers stamp set was stamped with Soft Succulent Ink in the center.
  • A trio of Iridescent Rhinestones were added to the background.

CCMC670 – Artistically Inked

Hello!  It’s Thursday and you know that means it is time for a Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge.  Here’s another sketch challenge for you to try!

ARTISTICALLY INKED BUNDLE

I knew I wanted some designer paper in the background…but which one to use?  I finally pulled out the Expressions in Ink Designer Paper for my card and the Artistically Inked Bundle!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Pale Papaya cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • A 2-3/4 x 5 piece of Expressions in Ink DSP to the background.
  • A 2-3/4 x 3-3/4 piece of Basic White was added on top.
  • A 3/4 x 3-3/4 piece of the green print in Expressions in Ink DSP was added across the top with a 1/2 x 3-1/4 gold metallic striped DSP on top.
  • The greeting was stamped with Cajun Craze Ink on 1/2 x 3 piece of Basic White and added to the strips with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The large flower was inked with Pale Papaya and sponged with Cajun Craze along the edges TWICE on Basic White c/s.  The inside flower inked the same way.  The center inked with stamped off Cajun Craze Ink and dots with full strength Cajun Craze Ink.  The leaves with Pear Pizzazz Ink with sponged on Old Olive Ink.  All were cut with the dies and assembled on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • I bent up the edges of the flower and leaves for some more dimension.

IM180 – Artistically Inked

Happy Monday! It’s time for our Create with Connie and Mary Inspiration Monday challenge!  This week we have a colorful print!

ARTISTICALLY INKED BUNDLE

Sometimes I struggle on where to go with an inspiration piece.  I looked thru all my dies and saw this leaf branch in the Artistic Dies and thought I could make it work with these colors!  It ended up being pretty easy to do!

 

Stampin’ Details:

    • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Polished Pink cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
    • On top is a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic Black cardstock.
    • Two of the leaf branches from Artistic Dies were cut from Basic White cardstock, then colored with Sponge Daubers and Polished Pink, Daffodil Delight, Garden Green and Coastal Cabana Ink Pads.  They were adhered to the Basic Black layer.
    • The 1 x 4 piece of Daffodil Delight cardstock was stamped with the Happy Birthday greeting from Artistically Inked stamp set in Memento Black Ink.
    • A 1/2 x 4 piece of Polished Pink cardstock was layered under the greeting, then added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
    • Two In Color Jewels were added on the sides of the greeting.

Pretty cool how this turned out!  The colors really POP off the black background!  And I think it is a pretty neat representation of the inspiration piece!  OK…check out what Mary did with the Inspiration Monday Challenge over on Create with Connie and Mary!

Hello!  It’s Thursday and you know that means it is time for a Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge.  It’s a gorgeous color combination this week…who else LOVES the new Pale Papaya color????

ARTISTICALLY INKED

I love the abstract watercolor look of the flowers in the Artistically Inked Bundle.  And that Expressions of Ink Designer Paper…wow!  It is gorgeous!  It is hard even to cut it.  But, you know…I can always buy more, right?

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Pale Papaya cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • The 2-1/2 x 4 piece of Expressions of Ink Designer Paper was added to the bottom of the front.
  • A 3-1/2 by 4 piece of Basic White cardstock was trimmed with the Basic Borders Die, stamped with “Thanks” and some dots in Calypso Coral Ink, then added to the front.
  • The large flower image from Artistically Inked Stamp Set was inked with the Pale Papaya Ink, and Calypso Coral Ink was sponged on the edges before stamping on scrap Basic White.  A few Calypso Coral dots were stamped on the flower.  The center was stamped with Calypso Coral Ink and two sets of leaves with Pear Pizzazz Ink on scrap Basic White cardstock.  They were cut with the Artistic Dies and added to the top with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Some gold leaves and sprigs from Expressions in Ink Ephemera Pack were tucked under the flower with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
