I used Petal Potpourri for my FREE TUTORIAL during Preview Week…see it over here on Create with Connie and Mary if you missed it. I had also made this card first at the same time, but it didn’t fit the direction I went using Gold Soiree DSP and the Party Pennants Die. I still really like it, though…great workshop card! I like how the lighter shade of Crisp Cantaloupe in the background almost looks like it is under vellum!

Here are the details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Garden Green, folded in half.
On the 4 x 5-1/4 Whisper White layer, the Petal Potpourri flower image was stamped three times with Crisp Cantaloupe Ink. The centers were stamped with Gold Metallic Ink.
The greeting from Because You Care Hostess set was stamped with Tuxedo Black Ink on the right side.
On scrap Whisper White, the flower was stamped again with Calypso Coral Ink and Garden Green Ink and both punched with the Flower Medallion Punch. The leaves were made by cutting the petals into pairs.
Calypso Coral was punched with the Flower Medallion Punch for behind the inked flower.
The center was stamped with Gold Metallic Ink on Whisper White and punched with the 1/2″ Circle Punch.
Everything was put together with Stampin’ Dimensionals and added to the front.

Love it! I think I’ll make some more in different colors for my mom for Mother’s Day! She’ll like that!

CCMC Saturday Blog Hop Nature’s Perfection

Wow…can you believe it is almost the END of Stampin’ Up!’s Sale-A-Bration? It is such a great time of year to pick up FREE product with a purchase! We had lots of great sets to use, too! Originally, the Create with Connie and Mary Design Team was going to focus on Big Day stamp set for this Saturday’s Blog Hop, but then Stampin’ Up! added Nature’s Perfection and For Being You stamp sets to our free selections…so this week our Design Team had the choice of what set to use on their card! You’ve probably just come from Deb Currier’s Blog…love her For Being You card!

Sometimes a card just doesn’t seem finished and how it looked in my head, and I can keep adding and adding until I’m happy. Well, this card ended up using MUCH more product than I normally do on a card! But…it does feature several of the SAB products, so I’m ok with it! I really do love how soft and delicate it turned out!

Here are the details:

The base is 4 1/4 x 11 Blushing Bride, folded in half.
A 4 x 5 1/4 Whisper White layer was stamped with the stem in Nature’s Perfection twice on the left side with Sahara Sand Ink (allow room for the DSP). The tips of the flowers were colored with the Blushing Bride Stampin’ Write Marker.
A 1 3/4 x 4 piece of Irresistibly Yours Designer Paper was colored with a sponge dauber and Blushing Bride Ink, then adhered to the bottom of the Whisper White layer.
The 7/8″ Scallop Circle was punched from Sahara Sand and the petals cut to resemble a flower, then the Blushing Bride Artisan Embellishment flower was placed in the center with Mini Glue Dots, then added to the front of the card under the stems.
The frame from the hostess set, Because You Care, was stamped with Blushing Bride, then the Happy Birthday greeting stamped inside with Sahara Sand. It was cut with the Chalk Talk Framelit which fits perfectly around the frame. That was popped up on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Finally the butterfly from Nature’s Perfection was stamped with Sahara Sand on Blushing Bride cardstock, then punched with the Butterfly Punch and placed on the frame with a Stampin’ Dimensional. Pearls were added for the body.

Well, I hope this gave you a good idea for the Nature’s Perfection stamp set! I love the flower in it, but wanted to feature one of the other stamp images in it!

CCMC244 Petal Potpourri

It’s Thursday and time for another Create with Connie and Mary challenge! It’s a pretty color combination this time! Makes me think of flowers and spring! Yesterday actually seemed “balmy” and the high was only in the low 20s! But after the freezing sub zero weather we’ve had it felt pretty good!

OK…here’s the card I came up to use for the challenge. I actually made two cards, but couldn’t decide which one to use! I’ll show off the other later this week. This is the simpler of the two, I think. I hope you can see the lighter details.

Here are the details:

The base is 4 1/4 x 11 Rose Red, folded in half.
Blackberry Bliss layer was cut 3 3/4 x 5.
On the 3 1/2 x 4 3/4 layer of Whisper White, the medallion strip in Because You Care Hostess set was stamped across the bottom and right side with Blushing Bride Ink.
Happy Birthday from the same stamp set was stamped with Blackberry Bliss Ink.
The Petal Potpourri doily flower was stamped with Blackberry Bliss Ink on Rose Red cardstock and punched with the Flower Medallion punch. It was stamped again with Blackberry Bliss Ink on Blushing Bride, then punched with the 7/8″ Scallop Circle Punch and placed in the center of the flower with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The flower was placed on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals and rhinestone added to the center, plus some around the greeting.
Finally, a scrap of Blushing Bride Chevron Ribbon was cut with flag ends, then folded in half and adhered under the flower.

I think it really is a pretty card in person! I like how the center of the flower almost looks like a Spirograph (anyone else used to have one of those?)
