CCMC698 – Cactus Cuties

Hello! It’s Thursday and you know that means it is time for a Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge. We have a pretty color combination this week for you to try!

CACTUS CUTIES

I went back and forth on which new stamp set to use but decided the Cactus Cuties would be fun! I’m thinking of these cacti in ALL different colors! I took my colors from the Abstract Beauty Designer Paper I wanted to use.

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Just Jade cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Blushing Bride cardstock was embossed with the Stripes Embossing Folder.
A 2 x 5-1/4 piece of Abstract Beauty DSP was added down the right side with a 1/2 x 5-1/4 strip of Night of Navy cardstock to hide the seam.
The Hippo & Friends label die was cut from Basic White cardstock and added on front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The vase from Cactus Cuties was stamped with Night of Navy Ink and punched, the cactus with Just Jade Ink and cut out. They were added to the label with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Just a note was stamped with Night of Navy on a 1/2 x 3 strip of Blushing Bride cardstock and end cut at an angle. It was added across the cactus on the front.
Three flowers were punched from Blushing Bride cardstock and added with Mini Glue Dots.
A trio of Polished Dots were added in the background.

Create LIVE Birthday Fiesta details

Hi everyone! Well, I was kind of out of the loop last week, wasn’t I? Mary and I were BUSY finishing up last minute details for the Create LIVE event we held last Saturday! Feedback was that it was a HUGE success and we thank all of you who came out and joined us! We love meeting and chatting with you in person…and are so happy you enjoyed the projects! AND…great news if you missed it! We have a LIMITED NUMBER of Make & Take kits available for anyone in the US to purchase! Go check out the details over on Create with Connie and Mary! Our theme and inspiration for this year’s Create LIVE event was the stamp set, Birthday Fiesta. Just darling for all kinds of celebrations! Here are a few photos of the tags we made.

Everyone who attended received a bright colored bag with their Make & Take materials inside. The Birthday Fiesta Bag Tag designed by me was a great place to write their name on the back so they didn’t get lost or misplaced!

Then to start the event we did an all-inclusive prize patrol…everyone received this sweet treat designed by Mary Brown for being so “sweet” to attend! And, of course, stampers need chocolate to stamp, right?

We are so thankful for our 5 helpers who assist us getting set up and manning the Make & Take tables for us…freeing us up to walk around and make sure everything is running smoothly. Thanks to Sandy, Lynn, Barb, Jo, and our design team member, Nicole…we couldn’t do it without you! Here are the name tags I designed for Mary and I, plus the helpers (no…forgot to get a photo of all of them together!) Come back tomorrow to see the gift we gave our helpers!!! It is VERY cool!

And, of course, Prize Patrol gifts had a little tag on them to identify the prize with the color. Here’s the prize for the Tempting Turquoise winners…everyone went home with a little embellishment. A cute little tag with a 1-3/4 DSP circle and the Yay! greeting from Confetti Celebrations punched with a star and popped up on the circle.

Here’s the Prize Patrol wheel I made with spinning Alpacas/Llamas! Which is it? lol!

CCMC Saturday Blog Hop – Favorite Designer Paper

This month on Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hops, we are switching it up a little and showing off our FAVORITES! This week we are featuring our FAVORITE DESIGNER PAPER! Now…that was a tough one for me! I pretty much have favorite patterns in each package! But, I did narrow it down overall to the Festive Birthday Designer Paper package…mainly because of the bright colors and White background!

Here are the details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Tempting Turquoise.
On the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Soft Sky, two 1/2 x 2 inch strips of Festive Birthday DSP were placed in the left top area.
A 2-3/4 x 3-1/2 piece of the festive ribbons in Festive Birthday DSP was cut and corners rounded with the Project Life Corner Rounder Punch, then added to the front.
A 2″ Circle of Crushed Curry cardstock was placed in the bottom right corner.
The cactus from Birthday Fiesta was stamped with Emerald Envy Ink on Whisper White and cut with the Festive Time Framelits.
The flower was stamped with Melon Mambo and cut with the Festive Time Framelit, then added to the cactus with a Mini Glue Dot. A Rhinestone finishes off the center.
The greeting was stamped with Memento Black Ink in the lower left corner.
