CCMC470 Eastern Beauty

Well, today is THE day…I could use some positive thoughts and many prayers today! I’m having total knee replacement on my right knee. I’ve endured over 2 years with a painful knee and am finally doing it! Hopefully my recovery will be QUICK! I’m looking forward to walking again easily!

I’ve had sunflowers on the brain for the past week or so, and then I saw the sketch for this week and just knew I had to incorporate a large sunflower! I love the ones I’ve seen using the Eastern Beauty Bundle…so here’s my version.

The sketch looks more square, but I went with the traditional rectangle shape for my card.

Here are the details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Daffodil Delight cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
On top is a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Whisper White cardstock.
Down the left side is a 1-1/2 x 5-1/4 strip of Painted Autumn Designer Paper (LOVE!)
The greeting from Eastern Beauty was stamped with Early Espresso Ink. This greeting seems to fit perfectly with the sunflower “face”…and seeing them always makes me smile!
The sunflower was made with two of the Eastern Medallions cut from Daffodil Delight cardstock and layered together.
The center was stamped with the circle in Eastern Beauty stamp set, then punched with the 2″ Circle Punch. It was embossed with the Softly Falling Embossing Folder. It was added to the “petals”, then to the front of the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The “leaves” were made by stamping the Eastern Beauty image with Old Olive Ink on Old Olive cardstock, then separating the petals to form the leaves. They were tucked behind the sunflower on the front.
A bow of Crushed Curry Baker’s Twine was tied in a knot and added to the center of the flower with Mini Glue Dot.
Yellow Glimmer Dots were added in the background.

CCMC457 Eastern Palace

This week’s challenge at Create with Connie and Mary is a fun sketch!

I used the new Eastern Palace Bundle on my card. I had these Fresh Fig Designer Paper flowers already cut with the Framelits, so just finished up with the rest of the layers!

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Fresh Fig cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
On top is a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Whisper White cardstock.
3-1/4 x 3-1/4 piece of Eastern Palace Designer Paper was placed on the front and stamped with the large circle from Eastern Beauty Stamp Set in Fresh Fig Ink.
Two flowers were cut from the Fresh Fig Pattern DSP and added on the circle. The 1/2″ Circles were punched from the same Lemon Lime polka dot pattern DSP. A rhinestone was added to each circle.
A 1 x 5 piece of Whisper White was stamped with the Thank You in Memento Black Ink, then tucked under the flower and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

CCMC456 Beautiful You

I’m sure some of you are wondering why my posts are so sporatic! Well, our house went into contract unexpectedly a couple weeks ago and things have been moving fast. Like us having to find a home to move into! lol! We’ll officially move at the end of May! Isn’t that crazy that Mary and I would move almost at the same time after living in the same homes for a LONG time! So…I’ve been purging and cleaning. Getting ready for my BIG Moving Sale and another Craft Sale before the move! Yikes!

This week’s Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge is a soft and different color combination! I wondered what direction to go…

But, here’s my card. I love the simplicity of it!

I think this will be my MIL’s Mother’s Day card…somehow it reminds me of her with the hat!

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Tip Top Taupe cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
A 2-1/2 x 3-1/2 piece of Blooms & Bliss designer Paper was placed on top.
The lady from Beautiful You was stamped with Black Archival Ink on Whisper White and stamped her dress with Mint Macaron Ink.
The hat was watercolored with Tip Top Taupe Ink and the skin-tone with Blushing Bride.
It was cut with the Layering Oval Framelit.
A 3/4 x 4 piece of Old Olive was cut with flag ends, then added to the front with the Oval popped up on top with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The small flower was cut from Whisper White with the Oh So Succulent Framelits and a 1/4″ Circle of Mint Macaron added to the center. It was placed on the front with a Mini Glue Dot.
Celebrate from the Beautiful You set was stamped with Black Archival Ink.

That’s it! See…simple yet really pretty, I think!

Eastern Palace Suite

I used the new Eastern Palace Suite again on my card today, I had already cut out the flower medallion when making the last card I did and didn’t use it…so turned it into it’s own card. I LOVE the curvy verses in this set!

LOVING that new Lemon Lime Twist color!!! SO happy! Here are the details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Tranquil Tide cardstock (NEW In Color!), scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
On the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Whisper White, the 2-1/4 x 5-1/4 strip of Eastern Palace Designer Paper was added towards the top.
The largest Stitched Shape circle was cut from Whisper White cardstock.
The flower medallion in Eastern Medallions Thinlits was cut from Tranquil Tide cardstock, sponging the edges with Tranquil Tide Ink, then adding it to the circle with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
A 1/2″ Circle was punched from some Whisper White cardstock colored with the Lemon Lime Twist Ink Pad. Then a Perfect White Circle for the middle. It was added to the center of the flower medallion.
The little fleur image from Eastern Beauty Stamp Set was stamped around the medallion with Lemon Lime Twist Ink. The entire circle was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Finally, the greeting from Eastern Beauty Stamp Set was stamped with Tranquil Tide Ink under the circle.

LOVE it!!! So nice to have something new to play with!

Eastern Palace Suite

Wow!!! My preorder came yesterday evening and I just got a chance to sit down and work with this new Eastern Palace Suite! I was totally lukewarm about the set until I played with it! Now I LOVE it! It is totally one of those sets that you will be reaching for time and time again! Yes…customers…I will be doing a Class Kit with this fabulous suite of products in early May! Stay tuned! Demos can preorder now…customers can order this suite on May 1st!

So, here is what I quickly came up with using this set…lots of NEW stuff on here! Clean and simple, but the touches of gold in the thread and the Eastern Gold Vinyl Stickers pushes it over the top!

Here are the details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Tranquil Tide (one of the NEW In-Colors!) cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
On the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Whisper White, a 2 x 5-1/4 piece of NEW Eastern Palace DSP was adhered along the bottom. Then a 1/2 x 5-1/4 piece of the reverse patterned Lemon Lime Twist DSP was added along the seam.
On top of that is a row of the NEW Eastern Gold Vinyl Sticker, trimmed to size. WOW!
Two of the “flower” medallions from the Eastern Medallions Thinlits were cut from Tranquil Tide and Dapper Denim cardstock and trimmed out.
Stampin’ Up! didn’t provide the new In-Color Lemon Lime Twist cardstock on this preorder, so I made my own by coloring Very Vanilla scrap paper with the ink pad. I stamped the dotted circle (LOVE!) and the greeting from the Eastern Beauty stamp set with Tranquil Tide Ink on top, then punched with the 1-1/4 Circle Punch.
Before placing it in the center of the two medallion flowers with a Stampin’ Dimensional, I wrapped some Gold Thread around my fingers and added it to the back of the circle. It is just a touch of glimmer that matches the Vinyl stickers!
