CS111 – Autumn Leaves

Welcome to Create with Connie and Mary’s Creatively Simple Challenge!  Each month Mary and I will pick a theme for our simple cards.  This month the theme is Fall cards!

AUTUMN LEAVES

I’ve had planned this card for a different project I needed a couple months ago and ended up not using it.  I just ran across the card again and thought I’d post it, especially since the All About Autumn Designer Paper is expected back in stock at any time!

 

 

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Thick Very Vanilla cardstock, score at 5-1/2 and fold to form base card.
  • The 3-3/4 x 5 layer of Very Vanilla cardstock was embossed with the Distressed Tiled Embossing Folder and cut with the leaf from the Autumn Leaves Dies.
  • A 2 x 3 piece of All About Autumn DSP was added behind the opening, then added to the front of the card.
  • The leaf veins were cut from Copper Clay cardstock and adhered to the cut-out embossed leaf.  It was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals next to the opening.
  • Some Natural Ribbon was shredded and tied in a knot, then added to the top of the leaves.
  • A 5/8 x 3-3/4 strip of Copper Clay cardstock was stamped with the greeting from Autumn Leaves stamp set in Memento Black Ink and added across the top.
  • Two Crumb Cake Adhesive Backed Speckled Dots were added next to the greeting.

Saturday Blog Hop – Fall Leaves

This week’s Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop theme is “Fall Leaves”.  Ours in Ohio are certainly almost all on the ground now.  Was so glad we did a little travelling a few weeks ago when they were at their peak!

INTRICATE LEAVES DIES

This card was made from pieces left on my desk from discarded projects.  I call them “starts” and love it when I can use them up!  I already had the banners made up, so just added some leaves and the base card!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Misty Moonlight cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
  • A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic White was embossed with the Timeworn Type embossing folder.
  • Four 1-1/4 x 2-1/2 rectangles were cut from Crumb Cake cardstock, the banners hand cut at the bottom.  They were embossed with the Timeworn Embossing Folder and adhere to the front.
  • A 1/4 x 5-1/4 strip of Misty Moonlight cardstock was added across the top of the banners.
  • The Harvest Meadow DSP pieces were cut with the Hippo and Friends Dies, then added to the banners with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • FALL letters were cut from the Playful Alphabet Dies from Cajun Craze cardstock and adhered to the banners.
  • The small leaves were cut with the Intricate Dies using Cajun Craze, Bumblebee and Pumpkin Pie cardstocks and added around the banners.
  • Some Brushed Metallic Dots were added to the background.

Not entirely how I pictured it in my head, but think it is a little different for this week’s fall leaves theme!  OK, next up on our blog hop is our Create with Connie and Mary website, then on to creative Mary Brown, or head backwards to see Melissa Davies’ fabulous project and see what everyone did with this challenge!

Creatively Simple 8 – Thinking of You

Welcome to Create with Connie and Mary’s Creatively Simple Challenge!  Each month Mary and I will pick a theme…this month it is “Thinking of You” and we each create a simple card every week using that theme!

I haven’t used the Annual Catalog set, Love of Leaves and Stitched Leaves Dies, much this fall!  It is such a PRETTY set and I love the stitched leaves in the dies!  So, thought it would be time…the greeting is perfect for this theme!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Bumblebee cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
  • The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic White cardstock was embossed/cut with the Stitched Leaves background die.  It was added to the front of the base card.
  • The large leaf in Love of Leaves was stamped with Bumblebee Ink on Basic White cardstock, then cut with the Stitched Leaves Dies.  It was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The greeting from Love of Leaves was stamped in Early Espresso Ink at the bottom right corner.
  • Some Linen Thread was tied in a bow and added to the stem with a Mini Glue Dot.
  • A trio of Champagne Rhinestones were added in the background!

CCMC Saturday Blog Hop – Autumn Leaves or Trees

Our theme this week on the Saturday Create with Connie and Mary Blog Hop is “AUTUMN LEAVES OR TREES”!  I had trouble narrowing down what leaves I wanted to use (besides the obvious Thoughtful Branches stamp set that is still available).  But, I noticed the leaves in Flourishing Phrases and thought they would be perfect dressed up for fall!

I paired the Flourish Thinlets with the Warmth & Cheer DSP Stack in the Holiday Mini.  Here are the details:

 

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Chocolate Chip cardstock, folded in half.
  • The 3-1/4 x 4 Warmth & Cheer DSP Stack plaid pattern was added to the front of the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Crumb Cake cardstock.
  • A 3/8 x 5-1/4 strip of Chocolate Chip cardstock was placed across the front.
  • A 2″ punched circle of Whisper White was added to the front.
  • The Flourish Thinlet leaves were cut from Delightful Dijon, Cajun Craze and Cherry Cobbler cardstock, then tied the ends together with Linen Thread and tied in a bow.  They were added to the circle with Mini Glue Dots.
  • With Sympathy from Flourishing Phrases was stamped with Chocolate Chip ink in the lower right corner.
