CCMC540 – Farmhouse Christmas

It’s Thursday and time for another Create with Connie and Mary challenge – this week it is a wonderful sketch challenge! This challenge will be open for TWO WEEKS as the creative team takes a break over the holidays! Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays, everyone!

I think this is my favorite DSP this year…love that Gray Granite/Real Red plaid in the Festive Farmhouse Designer Series Paper! And that red grid pattern is pretty fun, too! Top it with the popular red Christmas Tree truck…and I think it’s a winner!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Crumb Cake cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
On top the 3-1/4 x 4-1/2 Gray/Red plaid is added to the base with a 1/2 x 3-3/4 piece of the red grid DSP tucked under the left side.
A 1 x 3-3/4 piece of the same red grid DSP is also added over the plaid DSP on the right side.
A large Stitched Shape Oval is cut from Whisper White, then stamped with the tree from Farmhouse Christmas in Early Espresso Ink towards the right side, it is colored with the Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blends.
The truck was stamped with Memento Black Ink on Whisper White and colored with Real Red, Smoky Slate and Old Olive Stampin’ Blends. It was cut with the Farmhouse Framelits Dies and added on top of the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The greeting from Farmhouse Christmas was stamped with Early Espresso Ink on Crumb Cake and punched with the Classic Label Punch, the added under the truck.

HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS – FARMHOUSE CHRISTMAS

I’m in the middle of getting ready for my HUGE craft show coming up on December 1st. The past few years I’ve almost sold out of everything on my table, so trying to make up even more things to sell this year! When I saw the theme for this month, I already had this HOME Frame idea in my head to make up for the craft fair, so decided to get double use out of it and use it for the Control Freaks Blog Hop!

Here’s the frame (sorry for the glare):

Stampin’ Details:

The frame has a 5 x 7 opening, so Cherry Cobbler cardstock was cut to 5 x 7 and embossed with the Tin Type Embossing Folder.
On top is a 4-1/4 x 6-1/4 Layer of Early Espresso cardstock.
A 4 x 6 piece of Wood Textures Designer Paper was added on top.
The Alphabet letters H, M and E were cut from Galvanized Metal Paper with the Large Letters Framelits and added to the wood DSP with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The Boxwood Wreath Embellishment was opened up a little and tied with a bow of Festive Farmhouse Cotton Twine in the Cherry Cobbler color, then added for the “O” with Mini Glue Dots.
It was placed in the frame.

I love the rustic wood look with the “metal” letters and rich Cherry Cobbler color!

Next up is a card made with Farmhouse Christmas stamp set. I used basically the same elements.

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Crumb Cake cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
On top is 4 x 5-1/4 Cherry Cobbler cardstock, embossed with the Tin Type Embossing Folder.
A 2-3/4 x 4-1/4 piece of the Wood Textures DSP was cut with a flag end and added on top.
The house from Farmhouse Christmas was stamped with Memento Black Ink on Whisper White, then colored with Cherry Cobbler, Bronze, and Pineapple Punch Stampin’ Blends. It was cut with the Farmhouse Framelit Dies.
The roof was colored with Wink of Stella to shimmer like snow. The house was popped up on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The fence was cut from Whisper White cardstock with the Farmhouse Framelit Die and then added across the front.
The bows were cut from Joyous Noel Glimmer Paper (the red) and adhered to the fence.
The greeting from Farmhouse Christmas was stamped with Cherry Cobbler on Whisper White, then cut with the Stitched Shapes Oval and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I love how these turned out! And they were super simple to make, but would make a great gift for the holidays! OK…next up on the Control Freaks Blog Hop is Kelly Acheson! I know you’ll enjoy her projects, too!

Saturday Blog Hop – Favorite Embossing Folder

This week on Create with Connie and Mary our theme is Favorite Embossing Folder cards! I knew IMMEDIATELY which one I was going to use! The Tin Type EF has to be one of my ALL time favorites! And I’ve had quite a few favorites over the years! lol!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Cherry Cobbler cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Festive Farmhouse Designer Paper (very subtle woodgrain look!) is embossed with the Tin Type Embossing Folder.
Across the front is a 1 x 5-1/4 strip of the reverse striped side of Festive Farmhouse DSP.
Some Cherry Cobbler Festive Farmhouse Cotton Twine was wrapped around and tied with a bow on front.
The center of the circle greeting in Farmhouse Christmas was masked off, and then just the top and bottom curve greetings were inked with Memento Black Ink and stamped on Mossy Meadow cardstock. It was cut with the Stitched Shape Circle and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The truck was stamped with Memento Black Ink on scrap Whisper White cardstock and colored with Smoky Slate, Pool Party, Cherry Cobbler and Real Red Stampin’ Blends. The tree with Old Olive Blends. It was cut with the Farmhouse Framelits.
The wreath for the front of the truck was stamped with Memento Black Ink on Smoky Slate cardstock, then cut with the Farmhouse Framelit and adhered with a Mini Glue Dot to the front of the truck.
The truck was added to the circle with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Love this stamp bundle!!! And red trucks are certainly all the rage in decorating this year! Saturday Blog Hop – Spooky Halloween

This week on Create with Connie and Mary our theme is Spooky Halloween!!! This year there really isn’t a what I’d call a spooky stamp set in the Holiday catalog, but I improvised by using one that is really a Christmas stamp set…Farmhouse Christmas! I love my spooky scene!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Basic Gray cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Smoky Slate was embossed with the Subtles embossing folder and sponged with Memento Black around the edges.
The two trees were cut from Basic Black with the Farmhouse Framelit Dies and placed towards the right side.
The moon is a 2″ circle punched from Crushed Curry cardstock and sponged with Pumpkin Pie Ink around the edges. The Happy Halloween from Spooky Sweets stamp set was stamped with Memento Black Ink. It was added to the left side.
The fence line was added along the bottom, cut from Basic Black with the Farmhouse Framelit Dies.
The bat was punched from Basic Black with the Spooky Bats punch and added to the moon with a Mini Stampin’ Dimensional.
The house from Farmhouse Christmas was stamped with Memento Black on Basic Gray cardstock, then colored with the Daffodil Delight and Black Stampin’ Blends. It was cut out with the Farmhouse Framelits and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Oh, I LOVE how this turned out…and happy that I can use this set for something OTHER than Christmas! It would also be perfect for a Welcome to the Neighborhood or moving card!

CCMC Saturday Blog Hop – Favorite Holiday Greeting

This month Create with Connie and Mary is featuring our new favorite products in the Holiday Catalog! This week it is time for our Favorite Holiday Greeting! I knew right away what I was going to use…Farmhouse Christmas…in fact, the greeting was one of the MAIN reasons that I purchased the stamp set, along with the entire SUITE of products! lol! I love this “marquee” style greeting!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Cherry Cobbler cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
On top is a 3-1/4 x 4-3/4 plaid piece of Festive Farmhouse Designer Paper.
Over that is a 2-1/4 x 4-1/4 piece of the sparkle design in Festive Farmhouse DSP.
A 1/2 x 4-1/4 strip of Champagne Metallic Paper was added on top of that for a little bling.
Across the front is 4-1/2 piece of 5/8″ Striped Burlap Trim.
The greeting from Farmhouse Christmas was stamped once with Cherry Cobbler Ink on Very Vanilla cardstock, then stamped again with Mossy Meadow on Very Vanilla.
Merry Christmas was cut with the Farmhouse Framelits Dies, then added with Stampin’ Dimensionals over the rest of the circle greeting punched with the 2″ Circle punch and added to a 2-1/4 circle of Cherry Cobbler.
The greeting was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Don’t you LOVE that greeting? And that farmhouse look is SO popular in decorating right now. Love, love, LOVE it!!!
