Saturday Blog Hop – Happy Halloween

It’s Saturday and time for our Create with Stamping Friends Blog Hop. This week’s challenge is “Happy Halloween”!

GINGERBREAD MAN FRANKENSTEIN

Halloween is this week already! I love seeing the little kids and their costumes! You probably saw my Gingerbread Man Witch from Thursday’s challenge…but I also created a Frankenstein for today’s challenge! He’s so cute!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Pumpkin Pie cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Smoky Slate cardstock was added on top.
The 1 x 5-1/4 strip of Spooky Sweet DSP was added to the left side.
The gingerbread man was cut from Granny Apple Green using just one side of the Die and his hand rounded to finish it off.
Another gingerbread man was cut from Basic Black cardstock and his clothes cut for the neck, sleeves and pants. A piece was also trimmed off for his hair and the top of his head flattened.
The bolts for his neck are the ends of the candy shape die cut off, sponged with Smoky Slate Ink, and adhered behind his head.
The eyes and mouth were stamped with Memento Black Ink and the scars drawn with the Black Marker.
Eek, the web and spider from Fright Night Dies were cut from Smoky Slate cardstock and added to his clothing.
A White Gel Pen was used to draw the thread from the web to the spider body and the spider eyes.
Frankenstein was added to the front of the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
One of the potion bottle label die cuts from the DSP was added to his hand with a Stampin’ Dimensional.
A trio of purple Shimmer Star Foam Stockers were added to the web and the top of the potion bottle. A small white one added to the spider body.

IM304 – Frankenstein Cracker & Treat Box

Welcome back to our Create with Connie and Mary Inspiration Monday challenges. Here are some yummy Halloween cupcakes to inspire you!

CRACKER & TREAT BOX

I’ve had this Cracker & Treat Box Die for a long time but have never used it! I was inspired by Pinterest to make a Frankenstein out of the box!

Stampin’ Details:

- Cut the Cracker & Treat Box from a 5 x 5-1/2 piece of Lemon Lime Twist cardstock. Fold on all the score lines.
- Cut one end of a 1 x 2-1/2 piece of Basic Black with a jagged edge using scissors for the hair. Adhere behind the front end of the Cracker & Treat Box.
- Draw the stitched eyebrows with the Black Marker.
- Cut the Oval tag in the Cracker & Treat Box Dies from Basic White cardstock, then trim off the tag end and cut in half lengthwise for the eyes. Adhere under the eyebrows.
- Punch two 3/8″ Circles (retired) from Basic Black cardstock for eyes and 1/8″ Circles (retired) from Basic White cardstock for highlights. Assemble and adhere.
- Punch 1/4″ circle (retired) from Lemon Lime Twist cardstock and sponge Lemon Lime Twist ink on top for nose. Add to front with a Mini Stampin’ Dimensional.
- Cut rectangle tag from Cracker & Treat Box Dies, stamp Boo greeting from Bag of Bones with Lemon Lime Twist Ink.
- Adhere the box together by overlapping the two end panels with face towards front.
- Fill with treats and tie each end with a bow using Black Baker’s Twine Essentials and add the tag.

Fall Fest Frankenstein

Since we are getting ready to start the Holiday Collection PREVIEW WEEK over on Create with Connie and Mary tomorrow, I’ll be showing lots of Christmas Cards over the next few weeks since our Collection is using Holiday and Winter stamp sets. But, I’ve had this idea in my head to make for a while, so I thought I’d take this opportunity to make a last Halloween card and show my Frankenstein made with the Fall Fest Pumpkin and Framelits!

Here are the details:

The base is 4 1/4 x 11 Basic Black, folded in half.
On the 4 x 5 1/4 layer of Old Olive, I embossed the top portion with the Lucky Stars Folder.
I cut a pennant from the Party Pennants Bigz Die from Basic Black cardstock and added it to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I stamped the Halloween Street image on a 1 1/4 x 4 piece of Whisper White with Tuxedo Black Ink. Then on a scrap piece of Whisper White, I stamped it again with Old Olive Ink and cut out the Happy Banner to adhere over the black one.
The large pumpkin from Fall Fest was stamped with Old Olive on Whisper White, then stamped the face with Tuxedo Black on it.
I cut the large pumpkin from Basic Black cardstock with the Fall Fun Framelit then used my Paper Snips to cut a jagged line of “hair” off the top and adhered it over top of the Old Olive one.
I hand-drew the scar lines with Basic Black Marker. I also hand-cut two bolts from Brushed Silver cardstock and adhered them on the sides.
I added a couple highlights on the “hair” with a White Gel Pen, and used the Sahara Sand Marker along the ground for a shadow.
I punched the pumpkin image with the 2 1/2″ Circle Punch and added it to the pennant with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I colored the Rhinestones with Old Olive Blendabilities and added a trio of them to the circle.

Isn’t it fun? I love how it turned out! I think I’ll make a few more of these for my Halloween cards this year!

Scallop Envelope Die meets Frankenstein!

The first day I received my Big Shot Kit, I noticed that the Scallop Envelope Die looked like Frankenstein’s head at a certain angle! I immediately sat down and made one. I cut the sides of the envelope so it looked more like the bolts coming out of the side of his head and placed some mini brads there, too. Well…that is as far as he got. His head is almost too big for a standard sized card. Last week, I showed him to my upline, Candy, and she thought the verse, "Friend. Good." would be perfect! I agree! So I ended up finishing the card, making it a little longer style. Simple, but cute.

A few days ago the subject of Frankenstein came up on SUDSOL and someone’s husband saw the same thing I did. Too funny how minds think the same. So, here is my version.

His face is made with Green Galore cardstock. I used the large and small ovals for his eyes. I trimmed small slivers of Basic Black cardstock for the mouth and eyebrows. I used 1/4 and 1/2 circles for his pupils and nose. Basic Gray was cut for the bolts on the side of his neck. I hand drew the scars on his face with a Black marker.

I wrapped Basic Gray taffeta around the Whisper White layer and stamped, Friend. Good. from Smarty Pants with Basic Black. I think this will be a fun Halloween card to give someone!
