CS127 – Ice Cream Swirl

Welcome to Create with Connie and Mary’s Creatively Simple Challenge!  Each month Mary and I will pick a theme for our simple cards.  This month the theme is “Sweet” cards.  This theme should be lots of fun this month!

ICE CREAM SWIRL

This card looks complicated, but it really isn’t!  The Sale-A-Bration Sunny Days Designer Paper and the layout does all the work!  Isn’t that fun?

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Poppy Parade cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
  • The strawberry print in Sunny Days DSP was cut 1-1/2 x 4-3/4, then cut diagonally in half.
  • The grid print in Sunny Days DSP was cut 1/2 x 6 (times 3).
  • The triangle DSP pieces were added to the top left and bottom right corners of the 3-3/4 x 5 Shaded Spruce cardstock, leaving approx. 1/8″ around the edge.
  • The 1/2 x 6 strips of DSP were spaced between the diagonal pieces, allowing a 1/8 gap between them.  Once adhered, turn over and trim of the excess.
  • Add the Shaded Spruce piece to the front of the base card.
  • Stamp the frame from Heartfelt Hexagon with Poppy Parade Ink on Basic White, then the greeting from Ice Cream Swirl stamp set in Shaded Spruce inside.   Punch with the Heartfelt Hexagon Punch and add to front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Stamp two strawberries from Ice Cream Swirl stamp set with Memento Black Ink on Basic White cardstock, then color with Poppy Parade, Petal Pink and Shaded Spruce Stampin’ Blends.  Hand-cut and add to the front.
  • Add two Rhinestone Jewels to the label.

Saturday Blog Hop – I Think I Love You

It’s Saturday and time for our Create with Connie and Mary Blog Hop. This week our theme is “I Think I Love You”.  We’ll be showing off Valentines, of course!

ADORING HEARTS

I’ve combined the Adoring Hearts Dies with the Heartfelt Hexagon stamp set on today’s card for a little different look!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Flirty Flamingo cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic White cardstock is embossed with the Basics (Crosshatch) Embossing Folder (online exclusive).
  • A 1 x 4 piece of Most Adored Designer Paper is added to the front.
  • The hearts were cut from Real Red cardstock, Flirty Flamingo cardstock and Most Adored DSP using the Adoring Hearts Die and Embossing Folder.  They were added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The outline image from Heartfelt Hexagon stamp set was stamped with Real Red Ink on Basic White cardstock and the greeting with Flirty Flamingo Ink.  It was punched with the Hexagon Punch and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • A trio of pink Adhesive Backed Sequins Trio were added to the front.

CCMC792 – Fragrant Forest

It’s Thursday and you know that means it is time for a Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge.  It’s a pretty color combination for you to try this week!

FRAGRANT FOREST

This background stamp appeals to me somehow!  I added two shades of green to the background image for a little variation in color…the color challenge worked great!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Pretty Peacock cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • The stamp was inked with Mossy Meadow Ink, then highlighted with Pretty Peacock Ink and a sponge dauber randomly over the trees, then stamped on a 4-1/4 x 5-1/2 piece of Basic White, then trimmed to 3-3/4 x 5.  It was added to the base card.
  • A 1 x 3-3/4 piece of All About Autumn DSP was added across the front and a 1/4 x 3-3/4 strip of Gold Foil Paper was added over top.
  • The greeting from Christmas Classics was stamped with Pretty Peacock Ink on Moody Mauve cardstock, then punched with the Heartfelt Hexagon Punch (Online Exclusive) and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Two holly leaves were stamped with Memento Black Ink and colored with Mossy Meadow Stampin’ Blends.  The berries were stamped with Moody Mauve Ink.  All were cut with the Christmas Classics Dies and added to the label.
  • A trio of Pastel Adhesive Backed Sequins were added to the background.
