Welcome to Create with Connie and Mary’s Creatively Simple Challenge! Each month Mary and I will pick a theme. This month the theme is Goodbye! We will design our cards using this theme of retiring products!

HYDRANGEA HAVEN

I used this set SO much when it first came out and then it has been sitting in my drawer for probably a year! I love hydrangeas…have several bushes in my front yard! These are almost the exact color! They are suppose to be pink, but they have a lot of blue in them, too.

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Balmy Blue cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
The 3-3/4 x 5 piece of Fresh Freesia cardstock is embossed with the crosshatch Basics 3D Embossing Folder and added to the front.
The large outside oval from Framed Florets Dies was cut from Basic White cardstock and added to the front.
The hydrangea from Hydrangea Haven stamp set was stamped with Memento Black Ink and colored with Balmy Blue, Fresh Freesia and Old Olive Stampin’ Blends. It was cut with the Hydrangea Dies and added inside the oval with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The Fresh Freesia Open Weave Ribbon was tied in a bow and added to the stem with Mini Glue Dots.
The greeting was stamped with Memento Black Ink on Balmy Blue cardstock and cut with the label in the Hydrangea Dies. It is added to the front with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.
A trio of Pastel Pearls were added to the background.

Happy Monday! It’s time for our Create with Connie and Mary Inspiration Monday challenge! This week we have some gorgeous hydrangea cupcakes!

HYDRANGEA HAVEN

I couldn’t resist using the Hydrangea Haven stamp set to make a couple paper cupcakes! Aren’t these fun?

Stampin’ Details:

- The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Highland Heather cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
- The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Seaside Spray cardstock was embossed with the Brick & Mortar Embossing Folder.
- A 2 x 4 piece of Hydrangea Hill Designer Paper was added to the left side.
- The Gorgeous Grape Sheer ribbon was wrapped around and tied at a bow towards the top.
- A 1 x 4-3/4 piece of Highland Heather cardstock was added across the front.
- The greeting was stamped with Memento Black on Basic White cardstock and cut with the Hydrangeas Die label. It was added under the ribbon with a Stampin’ Dimensional.
- Two “pots” from the Potted Succulents Dies were cut from Early Espresso cardstock and embossed with the Brick & Mortar Embossing Folder.
- One of the large hydrangea blossoms and three of the single flowers were stamped with Memento Black Ink on Basic White cardstock, then colored with Seaside Spray and Highland Heather Stampin’ Blends. They were cut with the Hydrangea Dies. The large blossom was then trimmed in half and adhered for the tops of the cupcakes. They were added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- The trio of single flowers were added along the bottom of the cupcakes.
- A trio of Pastel Pearls were added to the background.

Saturday Blog Hop – Favorite Designer Paper

This week’s blog hop theme is our “Favorite Designer Paper” in the Jan-June Mini Catalog! One thing that Stampin’ Up! does VERY well is their designer paper. They are SO gorgeous you almost hate to use it! But this week we are featuring our favorite (if we can pick just ONE!). I’ve been saving these couple sheets of DSP in Hydrangea Haven because I knew they would need to be the focal point of the card, so today’s blog hop challenge was a perfect time to cut it up!

HYDRANGEA HAVEN

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 7-1/2 Highland Heather cardstock, scored at 3-3/4 and folded.
The Hydrangea Hill DSP was cut to 3-1/2 x 5-1/4 using the bottom border print and added to the front.
A scallop circle was cut from Gorgeous Grape cardstock with the Layering Circles Die.
A smaller circle was cut from Basic White cardstock with the Layering Circles Die and stamped with the greeting, the flowers and leaves in Memento Black Ink. The flower color is Highland Heather Ink and the leaves are stamped off Pear Pizzazz Ink.
The circles were adhered together and added to the top of the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals, making sure not to go over 4-1/4 wide so it fits in a regular envelope.
A trio of dark purple Pastel Pearls were added to the background and flower.

This week’s blog hop theme is “Pile It On!”. How many different embellishments, layers, and accessories can you use on a card? This should be a FUN one!

HYDRANGEA HAVEN

Stampin’ Details:

The base 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Just Jade cardstock, score at 4-1/4 and folded.
The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic White cardstock has been “embossed” with the Stitched with Whimsy Dies. I LOVE these dies! They give a nice little extra touch and texture to your card!
Inside the stitched lines is a 1-1/2 x 4 piece of Hydrangea Hill Designer Paper.
A 1/4 x 3-1/2 piece of Just Jade is added across the front of the DSP.
A Stampin’ Dimensional was placed where the flower will go and some Seaside Spray Shimmer Ribbon looped and stuck down.
The Hydrangea bulb was stamped with Memento Black Ink, then the “fill” stamped with Gorgeous Grape, Highland Heather and Seaside Spray Inks. It was cut with the Hydrangea Dies and added to the front.
The stem was stamped with Just Jade Ink, then the inside “fill” stamped with stamped off Just Jade Ink. It was cut with the Hydrangea Dies and tucked under the flower. The stem was trimmed off a little.
The Hydrangea Haven greeting was stamped with Memento Black Ink in the background.
A trio of Pastel Pearls were added to the background and the flower.
