Oh Baby!

Oh, some EXCITING news! It's finally been shared on Facebook, so I can share it here, too!

Our youngest son and DIL are expecting their first child…our second grandchild! We are BEYOND excited!

I sent them this card last month when we got the news! I used Stampin' Up!'s single stamp, Oh Baby, that was available last year (it may be available as a digital MDS…I'm not sure…I tried to find it!) But, I knew I'd use it a lot so I purchased the stamp. I combined it with Kaleidoscope Designer Paper…Strawberry Slush is Allie's favorite color! So…a little pink…a little blue with Bermuda Bay…I figure I'm covered either way! Also, notice the little heart on her tummy! Here are the details:

The base is 4 1/4 x 11 Smoky Slate.
I added a 3 1/2 x 3 3/4 piece of Kaleidoscope DSP on th left, then a 1 1/2 x 5 1/4 strip on the right.
I stamped the Oh Baby image with Black Stazon on Whisper White, then used the Oval Framelit to cut it out. I popped it up on the front with Stampin' Dimensionals.
I punched two Petite Petals flowers from Crushed Curry Cardstock and added Strawberry Slush Itty Bitty flower punches in the center with Rhinestones.
Finally, I added a little Red Glimmer Heart, punched from the Owl Punch, on her tummy!

And, we got to hang out with Carter for a while yesterday after his nap. I took this picture…look at his WILD hair! lol! Isn't he a SWEETIE! Just love him to pieces! He is 10 months old today!

Well…happy Monday! Busy week of stamping for me! Have to start working on 1st birthday invitations for this little guy!

Geometrical Favors

I included this little favor in Club orders last month! Love using that Scallop Tag Topper Punch! A little Hershey candy bar dressed up for Easter is inside…looked great with the colors of the Kaleidoscope Designer Paper and the Geometrical Stamp Set! As usual…I didn't remember to photograph them all until I had already given out a lot of them! lol!

Here are the details:

Cut Whisper White 2 x 5 1/2, then punch each end with the Scallop Tag Topper Punch.
Score at 2 1/2 & 2 3/4
Stamp Thank You from Lots of Thanks stamp set with Black Stazon above the front score line.
Cut a 1 x 2 piece of Kaleidoscope Designer Paper for the front and adhere above the Thank You.
Stamp the triangles from Geometrical with Crushed Curry, Bermuday Bay and Old Olive, punch with the Triangle Punch. Pop up on the front with Stampin' Dimensionals.
Add an Itty Bitty Flower with Pearl Center to the Bermuda Bay triangle.
Add a bow tied with the Gold Metallic Bakers Twine at the top to keep both sides closed.
I did add a Mini Glue Dot to the Hershey Candy to hold it in place.

Aren't these fun? Quick and easy to do a bunch of them, too!

It's time for the Tour de Freaks, brought to you by the Control Freak Swappers! We have a mish mash of projects for you this month as we could use ANY current item we wanted! WOOHOO!!! You've probably just come from my friend Mary Brown's blog...weren't her projects FUN! I always love what Mary does! Make sure you go around to all the stops…it will bring you back here!

I had fun making this project and took my colors from the Kaleidoscope Designer Paper. It's a portfolio and matching card…but the surprise is INSIDE the portfolio and the closure! I used Peaceful Petals from the Occasions catalog in both the background and as cut-out flowers, adding the Petite Petals center of Crushed Curry, Bermuda Bay Itty Bitty Flower Punch and a Rhinestone jewel for a little bling.

Did you see? I used the Scallop Tag Topper Punch for the closure on my portfolio! It slips under the double band of Bermuda Bay to secure. I also used the Word Bubble Framelits with the word Hello from Four You stamp set.

And here is it open!

Isn't it fun? I found this Word Bubble notepads at the M**** Craft Store! I LOVE them and grabbed a few different shapes!

And, of course, I decided to make a coordinating card. Wouldn't this combination be a great gift for someone???

Week 4 Spring Collection Challenge

Wow…can you believe it? We are at the end of our Create with Connie and Mary Spring Collection! It has been quite the HIT based on the number of comments we've gotten from everyone! Hope you joined us. Remember that our website will be up for over a year, so you can refer back to the cards and projects until then!

Our last challenge is just for the Design Team, so we hope you like the last bit of inspiration for our MARVELOUS team! It's a nice, BRIGHT color challenge!

I must admit that I absolutely ADORE my card!!! It turned out just like it was in my head when I started! I wanted to create a vase of flowers using Stampin' Up!'s Petite Petals. Can you tell what I used for the vase???? I colored my Pearls with a Black Sharpie so they really POP! I'm hoping that the new Blendabilities will color the Pearls, too! Can't wait to try!

Here the details:

The base is 4 1/4 x 11 Bermuda Bay cardstock, folded in half.
I added 1 x 5 1/2 and a 1/2 x 5 1/2 strips of Kaleidoscope Designer Paper on each side.
In the center I added a 2 3/4 x 3 1/2 panel of Basic Black and rounded the top corners.
At the bottom of the Basic Black, I added a strip of Bermuda Bay that I used the Scallop Edge Border Punch. Then in each scallop I added a Pearl that was colored with the Black Sharpie.
The vase…drumroll please…I cut the Bermuda Bay Polka Dot Print from Kaleidoscope DSP using the Apothecary Accent piece and off the loop at the bottom, then cut it right above the loops on the widest part of the center! Pretty convincing for a vase, huh?
I stamped the flowers with Crushed Curry and punched out, then cheated and added a few Gumball Green leaves…cause they just needed them!
I cut two strands of Whisper White Bakers Twine and tied a bow, then placed it on the vase with a Stampin' Dimensional.
In the center, I added more black Pearls.
Finally, I stamped Wish Big from A Dozen Thoughts in Black Stazon on a scrap of Whisper White, cut the flag end and tucked it under the side of the flowers and vase.

I'm THRILLED with how this Cool Kid Tic Tac Toe Magnetic Board turned out and it wasn't hard at all! My kids used to want to play this game for hours in the car. It would have been nice to have this version where we didn't lose some of the game pieces or need a pen and paper to play! The base on this is a simple 9-1/2 x 9-1/2 metal sign…found easily at your local craft stores.

Since my metal sign board had hangers on the back, I went ahead and added a ribbon hanger so it stores easily! Since the banner look is SO hot right now, I added one across the top with the Tic Tac Toe game name! The game pieces have magnets on the back so they store on the sign while you are playing or not.

Petal Petal favors

Before Leadership, several of us were supposed to meet up with our stamping girlfriend who lives in Houston for a slumber party at her house! Unfortunately, the cold and bad weather prevented us from flying out until the next day so we didn't get to do it, but went directly to our hotel. However, I made some special favors for those who were going!

After looking ALL over town, I found these CUTE fuzzy slippers in a perfect shade of Strawberry Slush! I couldn't believe they matched so well! I rolled them up, then wrapped a belly band of Kaleidoscope Designer Paper around them. I also wrapped 1/8 Bermuda Bay Ribbon around the other way and personlized each set with a monogrammed bag tag using the new Starburst Framelits and Circle Framelits and Typeset Alphabet Dies.

To add to the tags, I stamped a couple of the Petite Petals images in Strawberry Slush and punched them out, then added the gold sequins to the centers.

Didn't they turn out super cute??? And what a practical gift! They can use the tag for their bag and the slippers around the house! I bought them all or I would go back and get more!
