Creatively Simple 8 – Thinking of You

Welcome to Create with Connie and Mary’s Creatively Simple Challenge!  Each month Mary and I will pick a theme…this month it is “Thinking of You” and we each create a simple card every week using that theme!

I haven’t used the Annual Catalog set, Love of Leaves and Stitched Leaves Dies, much this fall!  It is such a PRETTY set and I love the stitched leaves in the dies!  So, thought it would be time…the greeting is perfect for this theme!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Bumblebee cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
  • The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic White cardstock was embossed/cut with the Stitched Leaves background die.  It was added to the front of the base card.
  • The large leaf in Love of Leaves was stamped with Bumblebee Ink on Basic White cardstock, then cut with the Stitched Leaves Dies.  It was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The greeting from Love of Leaves was stamped in Early Espresso Ink at the bottom right corner.
  • Some Linen Thread was tied in a bow and added to the stem with a Mini Glue Dot.
  • A trio of Champagne Rhinestones were added in the background!

Happy Monday! It’s time for our Create with Connie and Mary Inspiration Monday challenge!  Isn’t this a pretty, unusual necklace!  I love the colors of the leaves!

 

Love of Leaves

I know I’ve mentioned it before…but I love the Stitched Leaves Dies that is part of the Love of Leaves Bundle.  This inspiration necklace was a perfect excuse to pull it out again!

Stampin’ Details:

    • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Very Vanilla cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
    • On top is the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Crumb Cake Plaid Tidings Designer Paper.
    • FALL was cut with the Playful Alphabet Dies from the 1-1/4 x 4 piece of Soft Suede cardstock and adhered to the lower front.
    • Happy was cut with the Well Written Dies from Early Espresso cardstock and adhered on front.
    • The long narrow leaves were cut from Mint Macaron (2) and Soft Suede (1) cardstock with the Stitched Leaves Dies.
    • The small leaves were cut from Balmy Blue (2) cardstock with the Stitched Leaves Dies.
    • The larger leaves were cut from Seaside Spray (2) cardstock with the Stitched Leaves Dies.
    • All the edges were sponged with Crumb Cake Ink and they were stacked and adhered down the left side.
    • The flowers were punched with the Small Bloom Punch from Merry Merlot, Calypso Coral and Very Vanilla, sponged with Crumb Cake Ink and added to the leaves.
    • The centers are the Elegant Faceted Gems in two colors.
    • Some Linen Thread was folded in half and tied in a bow, then added under the flowers.

 

Don’t you love it? I think I captured the look of the Inspiration challenge, don’t you?  Honestly, I tore it apart a couple times because I didn’t like the layout of the leaves…but finally got it right!  OK…check out what Mary did with the Inspiration Monday Challenge over on Create with Connie and Mary!

The theme this month is “Gratitude”!  I know I’ve been incredibly blessed throughout my life, so I am filled with gratitude and this theme is quite special to me.  You’ve probably just come from the awesome Melissa Davies!  I just love her work!  Just click on the link below to take you around the entire blog hop for some GREAT inspiration!

BANNER YEAR STITCHED LEAVES

The Stitched Leaves Dies are one of the most gorgeous leaf set dies I’ve ever seen.  I love this stitching both around and inside the leaves.  It is just perfect for fall!  I’ve combined it with the fun Banner Year stamp set!

Stampin’ Details:

    • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Early Espresso cardstock, scored at 5-1/2  and folded.
    • The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Crumb Cake was embossed with the Pinewood Planks Embossing Folder and added on top.
    • A 3 x 4 piece of the Gilded Autumn Designer Paper was added across the front.
    • A 1/2 x 4 piece of the striped Gilded Autumn Designer Paper was added below.
    • The large leaf was cut from a 3 x 3 piece of Mint Macaron cardstock (I had a bunch of these left over from a class!) and added to the DSP with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
    • Two 1/2 x 1-1/2 piece of Early Espresso were added behind the Mint Macaron for some contrast.
    • With a Grateful Heart from Banner Year stamp set was stamped with Early Espresso Ink on 5/8 x 2-1/2 piece of Very Vanilla and the end trimmed at an angle.  It was added on top.
    • The small heart leaf from Stitched Leaves was cut from Crumb Cake cardstock, and the long leaf from Cajun Craze cardstock.  They were added on front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
    • Some Linen Thread was folded in half and a bow tied, then added to the stems with a Mini Glue Dot.
    • A trio of Champagne Rhinestones were added to the background.

 

STITCHED LEAVES LITTLE TREAT BOX

I also broke in my new Little Treats Box Die!  Not sure WHY I waited so long to get this one.  It is SO fun and a small candy bar fits in it perfectly!

 

  • The box was cut from 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 piece of Crumb Cake cardstock and assembled.
  • A 2-1/4 x 6 piece of striped Gilded Autumn DSP was added around the box.
  • The scallop circle was cut with the Little Treats Die from Early Espresso and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimenisonals.
  • The heart leaf was cut from Cajun Craze cardstock and the long leaf from Gilded Autumn DSP, then added to the circle with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The greeting from Banner Year was stamped with Early Espresso Ink on a 5/8 x 2-1/2 piece of Very Vanilla and the end cut at an angle.
  • A trio of Champagne Rhinestones were added to the background.
  • Some Mint Macaron Basket Weave Ribbon was added thru the top hole and tied with some Linen Thread in a bow to keep it closed.

Saturday Blog Hop – Welcome Fall

Happy Saturday! This week our Saturday Blog Hop them is “Welcome Fall”!  Another great opportunity to use the fall sets in the Annual and Aug-Dec Mini Catalogs!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Cajun Craze cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
  • The 1 x 5-1/4 strip of Gilded Autumn DSP was added to the left side of a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Very Vanilla cardstock, then added to the base card.
  • The FALL letters were cut with the Playful Alphabet Dies, then added with Monoadhesive Glue next to the DSP.
  • The stitched leaves were cut from Early Espresso and Cajun Craze cardstock and two from the Gilded Autumn DSP with the Stitched Leaves Dies, then randomly adhered down the right side using Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The greeting from Love of Leaves was stamped with Early Espresso Ink in the center.
  • Some Champagne Rhinestones were added to the leaves and the Linen Thread was tied in a bow around one of the stems.
