Moroccan Nights

I used the sketch from this week’s Create with Connie and Mary to create this card using Moroccan Nights. Well actually, this was the first card I made with the sketch, but decided not to use for the challenge! lol! I actually had all these pieces sitting on my desk from other “starts” to projects, so was happy to use them up!

Here are the details!

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Sweet Sugarplum, folded in half.
The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Whisper White is embossed with the new Sparkle Embossing Folder.
A 1/2 x 4 strip of Playful Palette DSP Stack is adhered across the front.
The medallion from Moroccan Nights is stamped with Sweet Sugarplum Ink on Whisper White and handcut out, then placed on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The word Hello from Hello You Thinlets is cut from Basic Black cardstock and added across the center.

That’s it! Pretty clean and simple design, isn’t it?

Moroccan Nights again

OK…here is the third card I did using Moroccan Nights when I was at a stamping retreat a couple weeks ago. This is the set that we received for free for attending On Stage.

For some reason, this looks rather “blah” on the computer screen. It is much prettier in person! The Smoky Slate and Sweet Sugarplum really compliment each other!

Here are the details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Sweet Sugarplum cardstock folded in half.
On the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Smoky Slate, the border image from Moroccan Nights was stamped with Smoky Slate ink for a tone-on-tone look.
The medallion was stamped with Sweet Sugarplum on Whisper White, then cut with the Circle Framelits (old ones). Some loops of Silver Thread were adhered to the back of the circle, then placed on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
It’s Your Day from Confetti Celebrations was stamped with Memento Black on 1/2 x 4″ Sweet Sugarplum cardstock, then added across the center of the medallion.
Two Neutral Silver Sequins were added to the strip for some extra bling.

OK…I must admit, after playing with this set a little, I am liking it much better than when I first saw it! lol! Hope you liked my cards, too!

Moroccan Nights

I mentioned when I did this card I posted earlier, that I challenged myself to make a few cards with the set Moroccan Nights we got free at On Stage. Here’s the second card I made. It ended up being my favorite of the three.

The new In Color, Emerald Envy, hasn’t received as much love as the other new colors, so I included that color in my challenge as well! Here are the details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Emerald Envy cardstock, folded in half.
On the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Whisper White, the medallion from Moroccan Nights was stamped in Daffodil Delight.
The lantern from Moroccan Nights was stamped with Emerald Envy on scrap Whisper White, then cut out and placed on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Let’s Celebrate from Confetti Celebrations was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.
Some Daffodil Delight Bakers Twine was tied in a bow and added to the lantern with a Mini Glue Dot.
To finish the card, some Rhinestones were added to the Lantern, the center of the Medallion and by the greeting.

All the white space on this card really gives it a clean, crisp look!

Moroccan Nights

OK, I’m still not in love with this set, Moroccan Nights, that we received at On Stage last month, but I challenged myself to use it while I was at my stamping retreat a week ago. Here’s the first card I made with it. Again, I’m using a couple of the new In Colors…Dapper Denim and Flirty Flamingo! I purposely left the greeting off of it to give it a general “notecard” look.

Here are the details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Flirty Flamingo folded in half.
On the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Whisper White, the medallion in Moroccan Nights is stamped halfway at the top, bottom, and sides with Dapper Denim ink.
The medallion is again stamped with Flirty Flamingo Ink on scrap Whisper White and completely cut out by hand. Then just the very center scalloped area was carefully cut out by hand taking care not to damage the rest of the medallion.
Once again the medallion is stamped with Dapper Denim Ink on scrap Whisper White and the center portion hand cut, and the small circles punched with the 1/2″ Circle Punch. They are all popped up on the Flirty Flamingo Medallion with Stampin’ Dimensionals, then adhered to the base card.
The very center piece already cut out from the Flirty Flamingo piece is adhered in the center with Stampin’ Dimensionals and a Perfect White Accent added to the center.

OK…what do you think? It kind of reminds me of porcelain dishes for some reason! It is pretty in person, so I hope the photo captures it.
