Oh Hello

It's time for the SUO Challenge...this time we were challenged to use our Big Shot!  Can be dies, folders…anything that uses one of our dies or folders.  So grab yours and play along!  You know you want to!

 

For my card, I used a combination of two different framelit sets…the Apothecary Accents and the Oval Framelits.  Love the look it made framing the inside flower!  I liked this layout so well, I made up another one using this set that you'll see later!  lol!  I am also thinking that I'll use the layout for my Fiji Swap cards…I need to make 25 of them and it does use a lot of Designer Paper…so we'll see!  I have another set in mind to use for the inside.

 

 

Here are the details:

  1. The base is Calypso Coral (I know…it looks Tangerine Tango here!), cut to 4 1/4 x 11 and folded in half.
  2. I added a 4 x 5 1/4 piece of Tea for Two Designer Paper in the green print pattern.
  3. I cut the Apothecary Accent Framelit from Calypso Coral and cut out the larger Oval Framelit inside.  TIP:  You can do both at the same time!
  4. I also cut a smaller Oval from Very Vanilla to fit inside.
  5. I pierced around the edges of the Apothecary Accent with the Essentials Paper Piercing Pack.  It is popped up on the front with Stampin' Dimensionals.
  6. I used Calypso Coral and Lucky Limeade Markers to ink up the flower image in Oh Hello! and stamped on the Very Vanilla Oval.  It is placed inside the Accent cutout with Stampin' Dimensionals.
  7. I added a little piece of Calypso Coral Ribbon, tied in a knot with a Mini Glue Dot. 
  8. I stamped With Love from Field Flowers with Early Espresso on a 1/2" scrap of Lucky Limeade, cut the flag end and added it to the front.
  9. Finally, I embellished with a trio of pearls at the top and bottom of the Accent and at the base of the flower.

 

I love how it turned out!  I think this will be my mom's Mother's Day card this year.  Hope she isn't looking!

Oh Hello Easter Card

I showed an Easter Egg card earlier using this Oh Hello set…SEE IT HERE…here is the one that was actually the prototype.  I did this for a large Set Sampler meeting we did at the end of December.  I've kept this card under wraps thinking I may use it for a class…but it is really getting too close to Easter now, so thought I'd share it.  Normally, I would have used an Easter greeting, but I wanted to keep the supplies to only one set, so used one of the greetings in Oh Hello.

 

 

 

Here are the details:

  1. The base card is 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 of So Saffron, folded in half.
  2. A Whisper White layer of 4 x 5 1/4 is embossed with the Honeycomb Folder and added to the front.
  3. I stamped the zig zag Oval image from Oh Hello stamp set in Pink Pirouette on scrap Whisper White and cut it out with the Oval Framelits.  I then cut a zig zag across the midpoint and hinged it with a Mini Brad. 
  4. I cut a 1 x 5 1/4 strip of Pink Pirouette cardstock and stamped Thanks So Much in Raspberry Ripple ink on front, then cut a flag end.  It is adhered to the front.  Then adhered the egg with Stampin' Dimensionals over it.
  5. I cut the "chick" with the bird punch (only the top half) out of So Saffron cardstock and tucked it inside the "shell".  I added a Pearl eye and colored the beak Pumpkin Pie with my marker.
  6. Finally, I added a little flower using So Saffron and Whisper White with the Boho Blossom Punch, added a Mini Brad, then adhered it on the front.

Oh Hello for Easter!

Hmmm, sorry…this is posting later than normal!  I had the BEST of intentions of getting up this morning and working up a quick card to post on my blog.  BUT…I was tempted by a book I'm reading that only had a few chapters left.  I got too tired last night to finish it before I went to bed, so grabbed it this morning and finished!  It is the third book in a series of six and I'm already panicking because I'm half way thru them and I love the story line!  (And because I know I'll get asked…it is called "A Fatal Series" by Marie Force…a murder mystery/romance theme…lol!)

 

But…enough of that!  Here's my card for today.  I did up a similar card for a Set Sampler event that I attended in December.  I needed to make up two cards using the Oh Hello stamp set and I wanted to show the stamps in a different way on one card.  The oval screamed Easter Egg to me.  When I saw the Paper Players sketch (PP130), I thought it would be a good time to use the Easter Egg and Chick!

 

 

So…here is this version using the sketch!

 

 

The details:

  1. The base card is 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 So Saffron, folded in half.
  2. The layer of Whisper White is 4 x 5 1/4, embossed with the Honeycomb folder
  3. I added a 2 1/2 x 3 7/8" of Tea for Two Designer Paper, I cut the right edge along the edges of the hexagons…but that didn't effect show up in the finished card.
  4. Along the left side, I used the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Punch with a strip of Calypso Coral cardstock and tucked it under the edge of the DSP.
  5. I wrapped some Calypso Coral Ruffled Ribbon around the Whisper White layer and tied a knot.
  6. I stamped the oval from Oh Hello with Calypso Coral on Whisper White and cut it with a smaller Oval than the image.  Then cut it in half like a cracked shell, placing a Mini brad along the edge for a hinge.  It is layered it on a larger oval of Calypso Coral cardstock with Stampin' Dimensionals.
  7. Next I used the Bird Punch with So Saffron cardstock and cut the body to place inside the egg.  I added a small pearl for the eye and colored the beak with Pumpkin Pie Marker.
  8. Finally, I stamped Happy Easter from Teeny Tiny Wishes in Calypso Coral ink on 1/2 x 3" So Saffron of cardstock.

 

Do you like???  I do!

To celebrate, I've done up a card using Oh Hello!  This is one of the first sets I purchased, mainly because of the bundle with the Oval Framelits…I've been using those a LOT!  I'm SO happy to have Ovals back to use!

 

 

I love the bright colors in the Sunshine and Sprinkles Designer Paper…so cheery!  Plus, it allows me to use up some of my left over packs of Melon Mambo cardstock!  I think I only have one more package to go…I bought a lot of it for the two wedding invitations I did over the past two years!  Here are the details:

  1. Base Melon Mambo card is 4 1/4 x 11 folded in half.
  2. I layered on 4 x 5 1/4 Lucky Limeade that I embossed with the Honeycomb folder (love it!)
  3. I added two left over 1 x 5 1/4 strips of the S&S DSP along the left side.
  4. I stamped the oval image from Oh Hello in Daffodil Delight on Whisper White, cut it with the Oval Framelit, then pierced around it. 
  5. The flower is inked up with Melon Mambo and Lucky Limeade markers, then stamped along the bottom.  The greeting is stamped with Island Indigo. 
  6. I added a trio of Rhinestones along the curve, and punched a small butterfly from Melon Mambo with a rhinestone for his body, too.
  7. The chevron image is stamped in Melon Mambo and cut out, then tucked under the oval.

Love all the details on here and LOVE that new stuff!
