CCM Saturday Blog Hop – Seaside

Welcome back to our Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop! This week’s theme is “seaside”. This can mean beaches, boats, water or any tropical type of idea on our cards! Palm trees make me think of Florida and Florida makes me think of the beaches! I also LOVE this greeting!

PARADISE PALMS

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Old Olive cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic White cardstock was added on top.
The 1-1/4 x 5-1/4 strip of Early Espresso cardstock was placed towards the left side with a 3/4 x 5-1/4 strip of Design a Daydream Designer Paper on top.
The grass, trunk and palm top were cut from Basic White cardstock with the Palm Dies. The grass and palm top were colored with Old Olive and Granny Apple Green Ink with Sponge Daubers. The tree trunk was colored with Early Espresso Ink.
The coconuts from Paradise Palms stamp set were stamped with Early Espresso Ink on scrap Basic White and cut with the Dies. All were added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The greeting from Paradise Palms stamp set was stamped on scrap Basic White with Early Espresso Ink and cut with the Meadow label die. It was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
A trio of Adhesive Backed Milky Dots were added to the background. (I like how the white/clear ones take on the color of the cardstock around it…these have a greenish hue to them!)

Hello! Happy St. Patrick’s Day! Do you celebrate? The extent of my celebration is wearing a little green on that day! lol!

It’s Thursday and you know that means it is time for a Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge. Love today’s sketch challenge!

PARADISE PALMS

The New Horizons Designer Paper works perfectly with the Paradise Palms Bundle…don’t know why I didn’t get this DSP earlier! It is gorgeous in person!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Thick Basic White, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Pool Party cardstock is embossed with the Bark Embossing Folder (I think it looks like waves!)
Three 1-1/4 x 2-1/2 pieces of the New Horizons DSP were added to the background.
The palm tree and grass were cut from Basic Black cardstock with the Palms Dies.
The Happy Birthday from Paradise Palms was stamped with Memento Black Ink on Basic White cardstock and cut with the Hippo & Friends Dies. It was popped up on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
A trio of Iridescent Rhinestones were added to the tree for the “coconuts” and a little bling!

Saturday Blog Hop – Winter Birthday

This week’s Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop theme is “Winter Birthday”. I have to admit, I make up the themes for our Saturday Blog Hops and I have no idea what I was thinking when I decided on that theme back in early December!

PARADISE PALMS

One of my favorite bundles in the new January-June 2022 Mini Catalog is the Paradise Palms bundle! Since we have a home in Florida, we spend most of the winter down here where it is nice and warm instead of cold and dreary Ohio! I thought it would be fun to send a warm and tropical birthday card to my daughter-in-law who has a February “winter” birthday!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Pool Party cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic White was added on top.
A 1 x 4 piece of Sunshine & Rainbows striped DSP was added across the front.
The 3-1/2 x 4-3/4 piece of Calypso Coral was cut with the Scallop Contour Die, then some speckles were “splashed” in the background by tapping a paint brush of watered-down White Craft Ink Refill against a hard surface and onto the cardstock. Let dry.
The large palm tree and ground were cut from Basic Black with the Palms Dies and added to the Calypso Coral piece.
A 1/4 x 2-3/4 strip of Pool Party cardstock was added across the front.
Happy Birthday from Paradise Palms was stamped with Basic Black Ink on Basic White cardstock, then punched with the Double Oval Punch and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
A trio of Iridescent Rhinestones were added to the palm tree for “coconuts”.
