CCMC Saturday Blog Hop – Together Forever

It’s Saturday and time for the Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop! This week’s theme is “Together Forever”…wedding or anniversary cards! I decided to go with a more contemporary type of wedding card using the stamp set, Happy Home!

Here are the details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Thick Whisper White, folded in half.
A piece of Love Blossoms Designer Paper has opposite corners rounded with the Project Life Corner Rounder and is adhered on front.
The tree in Happy Home is inked up with Mossy Meadow Ink and then the tree trunk highlighted with a Chocolate Chip Marker, then stamped on a piece of Whisper White in the lower right corner. The leaves and ground were filled with Pear Pizzazz Marker and AquaPainter. Three of the corners were rounded with the Corner Rounder.
Three small hearts from the Confetti Hearts Border Punch were punched from Red Glimmer Paper and adhered in the tree with Mini Glue Dots.
Wedding Wishes from Rose Wonder Stamp Set (LOVE those greetings!) was stamped with Tuxedo Black Ink in the upper left corner.
Cherry Cobbler Bakers Twine was wrapped around twice and tied with a bow. The white panel was adhered to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I played around with this Rose Wonder set a little more and wanted to use some of the other elements in the stamp set and framelits other than the large flower! This little flower is cute clustered together on this simple to put together card!

Here are the details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Blushing Bride cardstock, folded in half.
On top is a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Smoky Slate cardstock.
The Circle Framelit was cut from Whisper White and stamped with the Rose Wonder greeting in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink in the upper right corner.
The small flower was stamped three times with Calypso Coral Ink on Blushing Bride cardstock and hand-cut . It was also stamped three times with Calypso Coral on Daffodil Delight cardstock and the center portion hand-cut out on each flower, then adhered over the larger blossom with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
In the center of the flowers are Perfect White Accents and they were added to the front of the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The stems were stamped with Mossy Meadow Ink on Pear Pizzazz and hand-cut then adhered on the cardfront, tucked under the flowers.

Rose Wonder

Hello everyone! Hope you had a wonderful Christmas! We don’t have any plans for New Year’s Eve…just staying home…which is totally fine with me!

I’m finding it a little challenging to use this large flower all together on my cards. I’m sure my customers who like the larger 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 sized cards will love it! I need to experiment with it on that size! But, I needed several sympathy cards a while back, so here is a second one I made.

The coloring in this one doesn’t photograph very well…it looks streaky, but I used the new Crystal Wink of Stella on it, so it really shimmers in real life! There are also several colors in the watercoloring…Blush Blossom, Wisteria Wonder and Pale Plum…the leaves are Pear Pizzazz and Old Olive. You can see the shimmer a little better on this photo:

Doesn’t that shimmer look SO pretty? Here are some details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Wisteria Wonder, folded in half.
On top is a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic Black.
On the 3-7/8 x 5-1/8 layer of Whisper White, the Rose Garden image was stamped with Basic Black Ink. It was watercolored with Blush Blossom, Pale Plum and Wisteria Wonder Stampin’ Write Markers and the leaves with Pear Pizzazz and Old Olive Markers.
The crystal Wink of Steller was added to the edges of some of the petals.
The border medallion and greeting from Rose Garden stamp set were also stamped with Basic Black on Wisteria Wonder and cut with the Rose Garden Thinlets, then popped up on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Had to show off a photo of my grand-daughter’s Christmas gift this year! She is going to LOVE this! We still need to load it up and take to their house…maybe today! (We haven’t celebrated with Carter yet…their turn at his mom’s family home this year in Wisconsin!)

We also got her some metal pots, pans and utensils to go with it…she’s already made us “eggs”! lol!

Rose Wonder and Garden

I played around a little with the Rose Wonder Stamp Set and Rose Garden Thinlets this weekend and I have a few tips for you! I needed several sympathy cards and this set has several pretty greetings in it! Here’s one of the cards I came up with.

This card actually took a lot longer to make than it looks! That is because I originally cut with the So Saffron and Pear Pizzazz cardstock and saved the inside pieces, then cut it again with Calypso Coral and Mossy Meadow cardstocks for the outlines.

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Calypso Coral cardstock, folded in half.
On top is a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Whisper White.
The outline flower was cut from Calypso Coral and the outline leaves from Mossy Meadow. The flower was cut again from So Saffron and the leaves from Pear Pizzazz and pieces saved.
Place flower and leaves outlines on the Whisper White with Fine Tip Glue Pen. Adhere inside pieces within the outlines.

Tip #1. It would be MUCH faster to adhere the flower and leaves outline frames to a square of the background color and cut around the outside vs. placing all the inside pieces of another color within the frame.

Tip #2. This is a LARGE flower when put together. Make sure to do a “dry run” on your placement so you know it is all contained on the front of your card. As you can see, my top leaf runs off the front of the card a little. Luckily it still fit in the envelope ok.

Tip #3. When you stamp the large flower, you need to be VERY careful when cutting it with the framelit to get the inked portion to show up. I found it to be an unnecessary step and would probably only use the stamp and framelits flowers together if I heat embossed it so the lines of the stamp were thicker inside the frame. But, the stamps and framelits separately work great!

So, I actually did like it when it was done, but it was a little trial and error at first! Hope you find my tips useful.
