Saturday Blog Hop – Winter Wonderland

This month our Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop is featuring blog hop themes from popular Christmas carols.  This week is the song “Winter Wonderland” and will run for TWO WEEKS so our Design Team can enjoy the holidays!  We’ll be back on January 1st!  Wishing you a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS!

CLOCHE DIES

I love the little tree dies in the Cloche Dies Set, so knew I had to create a little winter “scene” with them!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Smoky Slate cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic White cardstock is embossed with the Timber Embossing Folder and added to the front.
  • A 1-1/2 x 5-1/4 strip of Silver Metallic Paper is added down the center.
  • A 3-1/4 x 3-1/2 piece of the snowflake pattern in Peaceful Place Designer Paper has a 1 x 3-1/4 piece of Basic White cut on a curve for the “snowbank” at the bottom.  It is added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The greeting from Snowbody Better was stamped with Basic Gray Ink on the snowbank.
  • The trees were cut from Basic White cardstock and Silver Metallic Paper and added along the top of the snowbank with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  The birch trees adhered in the back.
  • Some silver Simply Elegant Trim was tied in a knot and added to the larger tree with a Mini Glue Dot.

CCMC680 – Snowbuddy Better

Hello!  It’s Thursday and you know that means it is time for a Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge.  We have a pretty color combination for this week…could be used for a variety of seasons!  I went with WINTER as the colors are in the Penguin Playmates Designer Paper!

SNOWBUDDY BETTER

Not much stamping on here…mostly cutting out directly from the Penguin Playmates DSP again!

 

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Just Jade cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
  • The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Fresh Freesia cardstock is embossed with the Wintery Embossing Folder on the left side.
  • A 1 x 5-1/4 strip of stripe Penguin Playmates DSP was added to the right side and a 1/8 x 5-1/4 strip of Misty Moonlight cardstock to hide the seam.
  • A circle was cut from Just Jade with the Layering Circle Dies and the snowflakes from Snowbuddy Better stamp set stamped in the background with Just Jade Ink.
  • A piece of Basic White was torn and trimmed with the Layering Circle Die for a snowbank, and adhere to the bottom of the circle.
  • It was layered on a slightly larger Scallop Circle cut from Misty Moonlight.
  • The snowman was hand-cut from the Penguin Playmates DSP and added to the circle with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The greeting from Snowbuddy Better stamp set was stamped with Just Jade Ink on 1/2 x 2 piece of Basic White cardstock and the end cut at an angle.  It was tucked under the snowman with a Stampin’ Dimensional.
  • A trio of Subtle Shimmer Sequins were added to the background.

Saturday Blog Hop – Favorite New Stamp Set

The next few weeks our design team for Create with Connie and Mary will be taking a tour of the new July-December Mini Catalog!  This week’s blog hop theme is our Favorite July-Dec Mini Catalog Stamp Set!

SNOWBUDDY BETTER

Well…don’t know if it is FAVORITE because there are SO many that I really LOVE, but Stampin’ Up!’s Snowbuddy Better stamp set was one of the first on my list of HAD to have!  I never pass up a snowman stamp!

Stampin’ Details:

  • The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Fresh Freesia cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
  • A 3-1/4 x 5-1/4 piece of Penguin Playmates Designer Paper (FREE SAB) was added towards the top.
  • The 2 x 5-1/4 piece of Basic White was cut with the Basic Borders Die and added along the bottom (trimmed to fit).
  • The snowbuddies were stamped with Memento Black Ink on scrap Basic White and colored with Fresh Freesia, Pool Party, Balmy Blue, Pale Papaya and Pumpkin Pie Stampin’ Blends.  It was hand-cut and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Some Light Pool Party Blends was added to the bottom for shadows.
  • The greeting from Snowbuddy Better was stamped on 1-3/4 x 1-3/4 piece of Pool Party cardstock with Memento Black Ink and cut with the 1-1/2 Layering Scallop Circle.
  • It was added to a Wonderful Snowflake, then added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Some Wink of Stella was added to the Snowbuddy bodies.
