SUOC54 – Christmas Wishes

It's time for another SUO Challenge! We are featuring Kids cards this time for the theme of our challenge! I used the new hostess set in the Holiday Mini, Christmas Wishes for my card! I think it is very "kid friendly"!

I had originally started to use the Santa Claus face in that same stamp set. But then I looked closely at this balloon image! Way cute!!! Love the little Santa in the hot air balloon basket! And, the reindeer going across the balloon! Plus it has such a FUN greeting…kids will like it, I'm sure! Here are the details:

Started with a base card of Gumball Green
I added pieces of Be of Good Cheer Designer Paper to the front.
I cut a strip piece of Early Espresso cardstock and cut the flag end.
I stamped the Hot Air Balloon from Christmas WIshes once in Cherry Cobbler and once in Early Espresso. I cut out the basket piece and the row of reindeer from the Early Espresso one and adhered them over the Cherry Cobbler ones.
I punched the "clouds" from the Cupcake Punch from Very Vanilla cardstock.
I added a Bronze Button tied with Gumball Green Satin Stitched Ribbon.
Finally added some bling with a row of rhinestones across the flags.

And here is the card I made, featuring fall, of course…those colors are perfect!

I have some tricks on this card that are hard to see in a photo:

The base is More Mustard cardstock.
Layered on Early Espresso Core'dinations cardstock embossed with the Woodgrain folder and sanded.
I CUT OUT the center with the Window Frame framelit (second from smallest) and then backed it with the green woodgrain DSP in the Orchard Harvest package.
I stamped Hello from Friendship Preserves in Raspberry Ripple on Very Vanilla and cut with the smallest Window Frame framelit. It is layered onto a square of More Mustard cardstock. I added a couple rhinestone jewels on top and bottom of the Hello greeting and popped it up with Stampin' Dimensionals.
I cut some smaller leaves and acorn with the Autumn Accents Die and Raspberry Ripple, Early Espresso, More Mustard and Lucky Limeade and crumpled them up before I adhered them.
The Acorn is popped up on the front with Stampin' Dimensionals and a little sparkly rhinestone.

So…here is the color challenge:

And here is my card, using Perfectly Preserved again!

This time I used some punch art pumpkins for filling the jar. And, instead of using the entire bonnet for the top of the jar, I cut out just the skirt part!

The base of the card is Rich Razzleberry, and I layered on Tangerine Tango.
On top of that is Lucky Limeade that I stamped with the swirl in Everything Eleanor, then I used a piece of Summer Smooches Designer Paper for the "table".
I stamped the mason jar from Perfectly Preserved in Black Stazon on Whisper White and cut it out.
I stamped the bonnet in Rich Razzleberry and only cut out the ruffled skirt part for the jar. Then I made a bow from doubled Linen Thread and adhered with a mini glue dot to the jar.
I punched the Small Oval from Tangerine Tango six times for the two pumpkins and put them together. I used the stem stamped in Lucky Limeade for the top and accented them with a White Gel Pen.
I stamped Thank You from Perfectly Preserved in Rich Razzleberry and punched it with the Small Oval, too.
Finally, I stamped the bird from Everything Eleanor in Basic Black and cut him out, placing him on the "table", too.

SC402 – Full of Blessings

Yeah! I had time to play along with the sketch challenge on SCS today! It is a fun one, too! Here's the sketch:

I converted the sketch from a square into a more usual regular sized card. I grabbed one of my newest sets, Full of Blessings from the Stampin' Up! Holiday catalog. I love to color when I have time! My Orchard Harvest class this Friday is also getting a sneak peek of one of the cards they will be doing! (Well, I might change it up slightly! lol!) Hope they like it!

The base of the card is More Mustard and I layered on Early Espresso.
I added strips of Orchard Harvest Designer Paper.
I cut the Window Frame Collection framelit from Very Vanilla and stamped the image from Stampin' Up!'s Full of Blessings in Black Stazon.
I watercolored with my AquaPainter and Stampin' Write Markers.
It is layered on a square of More Mustard and I pierced the corners with the Festive Piercing Pack.
I wrapped Linen Thread around and tied a bow…then added the greeting and extra DSP flags at the bottom!

Wonderfall

Here I am again, using Wonderfall from the Holiday Mini…it just seems like that time of the year, doesn't it? We are having cooler nights…leaves just getting a hint of color!

I started with the leaves…these I had left over from the Bushel Basket card I made earlier during Preview Week. (You can see it HERE!) I cut them with the die, then stamped them (backwards, I know!), but I find it much easier to lay the cut leaf over the rubber while the clear mount lays on the desk. I added some bling with the Champagne Glimmer paper leaves and texture with the Woodgrain Impressions folder.

The base of the card is Cajun Craze and I layered on Crumb Cake that I ran thru the Big Shot with the Woodgrain Impressions Folder. I cascaded the leaves down the left side, adding a bronze button tied with Crumb Cake Taffeta Ribbon to the bottom. I tucked in a greeting from Occasions Alphabet, stamped on Very Vanilla…isn't that set fun with all the greetings? You can find one for EVERYTHING! I cut out the greeting with the Apothecary Accents Die and placed it under the edge of the leaves.

CCMC-HOL1 – Googly Ghouls

So here is our sketch for this week!

And here is my Googly Ghouls card…yes…one more time! This time I combined it with a little bit of punch art! My Punch Class made this cauldron last year around this time! But…see the little eyeball in the bubbles? Isn't that SPOOKY fun???

So…here are the deets!

Base card is Pumpkin Pie cardstock
Layered on Elegant Eggplant that I ran thru the Big Shot with the Spider Web folder, then highlighted with White Frost Shimmer Paint
Cut the gray polka dot banner strip from Howlstooth & Scaringbone DSP
Punched a 2 1//2" Circle of Pumpkin Pie cardstock
The cauldron is from the Decorative Label punched from Basic Black and the legs of the cauldron is the Owl Punch turned upside down. I sponged around the edges with White Frost Shimmer Paint.
Bubbles are the cupcake punch frosting punched from Very Vanilla and sponged with Lucky Limeade
I added an eyeball made with the 3/8" Circle Punch and 1/4" Circle, with the Googly Eye inside
I stamped the witch and bat from Googly Ghouls in Basic Black, colored with Stampin' Write markers and cut out, adding Googly eyes to each.
Finally, I stamped Happy Halloween from Teeny TIny Wishes on Lucky Limeade and cut a flag end on it.

Isn't that a FUN card? I love it!

Monster Munchies

Monster Munchies is another set in the Holiday Mini that is just SO much fun!!! I love the little bat in this set…and the fun greetings!

The black and vanilla stripe in Howlstooth and Scaringbone Designer Paper looks like prison stripes to me! Made me think of escaping from prison…so that's what my little bats are doing…escaping! Makes me laugh, especially with their little googly eyes!

Card base is Tangerine Tango cardstock.
I placed a layer of Howlstooth & Scaringbone DSP stripe on top
Then cut a banner of Very Vanilla and layered on Tangerine Tango cardstock.
Stamped Happy Boo from Me to You from Monster Munchies with Basic Black on Tangerine Tango, punched with the Extra Large Oval. I added a Rhinestone jewel in the center of the web. Placed on the banner with Stampin' Dimensionals.
I stamped the bat three times with Basic Black on the Very Vanilla and then drew a squiggly line from the greeting to the bats with my Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker. I also added Googly eyes to each of them.
Tied a knot bow from the 1/2 Striped Ribbon and placed next to the greeting with a Mini Glue Dot.

I just love the whimsical look to this card! lol!

And, keeping with our Halloween theme this week, I used Googly Ghouls! I thought I'd have them line up in sort of a Chorus Line…maybe they are singing and dancing to the song, Monster Mash? lol!

Anyway, Googly Ghouls and the new Googlies Eyes are just TOO adorable! I am having so much fun playing with them. This little mummy has got to be my favorite, along with the spider.

The base of my card is Tangerine Tango. I added a panel of Howlstooth and Scaringbone DSP, layered onto Basic Black on the front. I wrapped around 1/2 Striped Satin Ribbon…love it…and tied a knotted bow. I cut a rectangle of Basic Gray for my "stage" and some Dotted Scallop Ribbon punched from Basic Black cardstock.

I stamped three mummies and the spider in Basic Black on Very Vanilla and cut them out and lined them up on front. I stamped Boo in Basic Black on Tangerine Tango and cut a flag end for the top, secured with a Mini Brad to the front. Finally, I added the googlies eyes in the spider and the mummies. They just make me SMILE!
