Saturday Blog Hop – “Red, Red Wine”

Happy Saturday! It’s time for another Saturday Blog Hop! Our theme is inspired by the song “Red, Red Wine” by Ub40. So…cards that are predominantly red! I enjoy finding songs that we can use for inspiration on our blog hops! In my mind this card started out a LOT more red, but as I played and designed it morphed into this card! lol!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Poppy Parade cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
On top is a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Basic Black.
The second from largest Stitched Rectangle was used to cut the Whisper White panel.
Some speckles from Waterfront stamp set were added with stamped off Crumb Cake Ink.
A 3/4 x 4 piece of Poppy Parade (Brights) DSP was added across the front.
Two Tropical Chic leaves were stamped with Granny Apple Green Ink on Whisper White and cut with the Tropical Thinlits and added above and below the DSP.
Two flowers from Tropical Chic were stamped with Poppy Parade Ink on Whisper White, the stamen colored with Basic Black Marker and cut with the Tropical Thinlits. They were added on top with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
You are the Greatest was stamped with Memento Black Ink under the DSP.

I haven’t played with this stamp set in a while…glad it is carrying over into the new catalog. Now, continue the blog hop to see the Design Team Member’s “Red, Red Wine” cards this week! CCMC520 – Tropical Chic

Another Thursday has rolled around and time for the Create with Connie and Mary Challenge! Doesn’t this sketch look like a package? I’m excited to see what everyone has done with it!

I decided to use Tropical Chic…love the bright colors!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Shaded Spruce cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
On top is a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Crumb Cake cardstock.
A 1-1/4 x 5-1/4 strip of Tropical Escape Designer Paper was placed along the left side and a 1-1/4 x 3-3/4 strip of coordinating DSP along the right bottom side.
The greeting was stamped with Memento Black Ink on Whisper White and cut with the Stitched Shapes Circle.
The leaves were stamped with Shaded Spruce and Granny Apple Green Inks, then cut with the Tropical Thinlits.
The flowers were inked with Mango Melody Ink and sponged with Poppy Parade Ink. The stamens were inked with a Basic Black Marker. They were stamped on Whisper White and cut with the Tropical Thinlits and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
A green Glitter Dot was added under the greeting!

IM29 – Tropical Chic

It’s time for another Create with Connie and Mary’s Inspiration Monday!!! Mary found these NAPKINS at the store and sent me a photo! It looks almost exactly like our Tropical Chic Suite, doesn’t it? Is Stampin’ Up! on trend, or what!!! Too fun!

Of course, I HAD to use Tropical Chic stamp set…just nothing else would come to my mind after I saw it. Here’s what I came up with. I did do a little different fold (at least for me!). The fold is on the left!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
A 2 x 5-1/2 piece of Soft Sea Foam polka dot pattern from the Subtles DSP Collection is added to a 2-1/4 x 5-1/2 piece of Shaded Spruce cardstock, then added to the center of the card.
The greeting is stamped with Shaded Spruce Ink across the bottom.
The long leaf was stamped with Soft Suede Ink, the spiny leaf with Granny Apple Green, the wide leave with Shaded Spruce Ink and the flowers with Flirty Flamingo Ink. They were cut with the Framelits, along with a spiny one from Shaded Spruce. They were placed on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Yep! That’s it! VERY simple use of stamps and framelits! I love the clean look and doesn’t it look like the napkins? OK…go check out what Mary did with the Inspiration Challenge this week over on Create with Connie and Mary!

CCMC516 Tropical Chic

Today’s another Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge and this month we are casing cards from the new annual catalog! So much inspiration and it is fun to look at those cards in a different way and apply the colors, the layout, or simply be inspired by the featured card! Here is this week’s card challenge:

And here’s what I came up with using the Tropical Chic Bundle and the layout of the catalog card!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Shaded Spruce cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
On top is a 4 x 5-1/4 piece of Soft Sea Foam cardstock stamped with the “seeds” and long leaf images in Soft Sea Foam Ink.
Some Nature’s Twine was wrapped around twice and secured in the back of the Soft Sea Foam layer.
The wider leaf was stamped once in Soft Sea Foam Ink and once with Shaded Spruce Ink, then cut with the Tropical Thinlits.
The long leaf was also cut with the Thinlits from Shaded Spruce cardstock. All were added to the front.
The greeting was stamped with Shaded Spruce Ink on a 1-1/2 x 2 piece of Crumb Cake that also had the seeds stamped with Crumb Cake on top. It was added to the front over the leaves with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Two flowers were stamped with Grapefruit Grove Ink and the stems with Basic Black Marker, cut with the Tropical Thinlits and added to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
