Saturday Blog Hop – “Purple Rain”

Happy Saturday! It’s time for another Saturday Blog Hop! We are continuing with the song themes this week with “Purple Rain” by Prince! Enjoy our cards with predominantly purple colors! I pulled out the retiring Dragonfly Dreams stamp set for mine!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Thick Whisper White, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
On each side, a 3/4 x 5-1/2 strip of Gingham Gala Designer Paper was added.
On the 3-1/2 x 5-1/2 panel of Whisper White, the speckles from Waterfront Stamp Set were added in the background with Crumb Cake Ink.
The greeting from Dragonfly Dreams stamp set was stamped with Memento Black Ink.
A 1-1/2 x 2-3/4 Rectangle of Basic Black was placed in the background (I used the Stitched Rectangle Framelit, but you can’t even see the stitching!)
Several loops of Silver Metallic Thread were wrapped in a circle, then added to the rectangle.
The dragonfly was stamped with Gorgeous Grape Ink on Whisper White and the inside with Highland Heather, it was cut with the Detailed Dragonfly Framelits and added to the rectangle with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
A Glitter Dot was added to the body of the dragonfly and a few scattered in the background.

SUOC181 Dragonfly Dreams

The theme this time on SUO Challenges is “Dragonflies and Butterflies”. Right now my studio is in a mess again as my husband painted my room this week while taking care of me after my knee replacement surgery. All went well and I’m progressing pretty quickly, but will be glad when I have flexibility back in my knee and less pain! Today is the first day that I’ll be “on my own” except for the PT person coming in to do exercises with me. I was excited to be able to make up this card while I’m recuperating! Didn’t know how much I’d be able to sit and work!

Here are the details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Pool Party cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
A 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Whisper White is place on top and embossed with the Layered Leaves Dynamic embossing folder.
Two 1/4 x 5-1/4 strips of Tranquil Tide cardstock and two 1/4 x 4 strips of Soft Suede cardstock are placed across the front in a grid.
The large Layering Oval was cut from a piece of Polished Stone Glossy cardstock that I had made previously and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The dragonfly from Dragonfly Dreams was stamped with Soft Suede Ink (detailed image) and the inside of the wings with stamped-off Tranquil Tide ink on Whisper White cardstock. It was cut with the Dragonfly framelit and added to the oval with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Thanks greeting from Dragonfly Dreams was stamped with Tranquil Tide on Whisper White and closely cropped so just the Thanks was cut out. It was adhered under the dragonfly.
You can’t see in the photo, but the wings were painted with Clear Wink of Stella.

Dragonfly Dreams

I recently held a class using the Dragonfly Dreams Bundle. They made three cards with matching envelopes. A bonus project was this little decorated Kraft Gift Bag to hold all of the cards if they wanted to give it as a gift! I thought it turned out sweet!

Here are the details:

The Kraft Tag a Bag Gift Bag was stamped with the dotted image in Dragonfly Dreams Stamp Set with Crumb Cake Ink along the edges.
1″ from the top was scored and folded backwards.
Strips of Urban Development Designer Paper were cut for banners with a flag end.
A length of Very Vanilla/Gold Metallic Ribbon (retired SAB) was folded in half, then stapled to the banners. The banners were adhered to the front of the bag below the score line.
The dragonfly strip was cut with the Detailed Dragonfly Framelits from Basic Black cardstock and adhered to the banners.
The greeting from Dragonfly Dreams was stamped with Memento Black Ink on a 1/2″ strip of Very Vanilla, cut with a flag end, then attached to the banners.
A Gold Binder Clip was added to the top to hold the bag closed.
Linen Thread was tied in a bow on the Gold Binder Clip.

LOVE it! This little packaging could hold SO much! What would you put in it?

SUOC170 Dragonfly Dreams

The theme this week on SUO Challenges is Things That Fly! Wide open interpretation on this one! I decide to use Dragonfly Dreams Bundle…I hadn’t used the little bee yet! Because I liked how this turned, this is also a sneak peek of one of the cards we will be doing in my Dragonfly Dreams Bundle class tonight!

Here are the details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Delightful Dijon, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
The 3-3/4 x 5-1/4 piece of Whisper White was stamped with the dotted image int he bottom left and top right corners with Delightful Dijon Ink several times. It was added to the front right side of the base card.
The 1/2 x 5-1/4 strip of Urban Development DSP was added to the left side.
The largest Stitched Shape Oval was cut from Delightful Dijon cardstock and embossed with the Hexagon Embossing Folder. The insides were sponged with Delightful Dijon ink to give them some definition.
Linen Thread was wrapped around and tied in a bow, then the oval was added to the front of the base card.
The bee was stamped with Memento Black Ink, and cut with the Bee thinlit in Detailed Dragonfly Thinlit Dies.
A 1/2″ Punched Crushed Curry Circle was added behind the body and a quarter of another 1/2″ under the head, then layered on Whisper White cardstock and hand cut around the outside. It was added to the oval with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The greeting was stamped along the bottom with Memento Black Ink!

Dragonfly Dreams Flower

I just thought the wings of the dragonfly would make a terrific flower if placed going in a circle! What do you think?

Here are the details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 So Saffron cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
On top is a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Flirty Flamingo.
The 3-3/4 x 5 layer of Whisper White was stamped with the Dragonfly Dreams wings going around in a circle, stamping off to fill in the blank spots.
In the center are two of the star flowers from the Blossom Builder Punch, punched from Flirty Flamingo cardstock. A Perfect White Accents is placed in the center. They are added to the stamped flower with Mini Glue Dots.
In the corners, the spotted image from Dragonfly Dreams was stamped with Flirty Flamingo Ink.
The greeting from the same set was stamped with Tuxedo Black Ink.

CCMC443 Dragonfly Dreams

It’s funny how “great minds” think alike! With today’s Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge, you’ll notice that several of our Challenge Team Members used the same stamp set! In fact, I used it, too! But, when I went to upload mine and saw their designs, I decided that I would make up another card using a different set. It’s a COOL sketch, and I know you could come up with even more ideas with it! Our website will give you information on how to play along on our Facebook page!

Here’s what I did using Dragonfly Dreams Bundle:

And here are the details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Pear Pizzazz cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
A 3/4 x 5-1/4 strip of Tasty Treats Designer Paper was temporarily placed across the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Whisper White.
Before adhering the DSP, the speckle stamp from Dragonfly Dreams was stamped above and below the area with Pear Pizzazz Ink, then the DSP placed over it.
The greeting was stamped with Memento Black Ink in the lower left corner.
On a scrap piece of Shimmer White, use the AquaPainter and Pear Pizzazz, Pool Party and Bermuda Bay Makers to watercolor the background. Stamp the dragonfly image over top when dry with Memento Black Ink. Cut with Detailed Dragonfly Thinlit and adhere on the front of the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Add some Clear Wink of Stella over top the wings.

Dragonfly Dreams

When I first saw the Dragonfly Dreams stamps set (other than thinking my friend Mary would be SO happy), I thought of this card that I originally created for the Stampin’ Up! Incentive Trip Cruise Swap back in May of 2014 when Work of Art first came out. It has been one of my most popular Pinterest pins!

I thought it would be pretty easy to recreate it using the new Dragonfly Dreams stamp set in the Occasions Catalog and some different colors! I must admit that I love this one as much as I loved the first one!

Here are the details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Pool Party cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
On top is a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Tip Top Taupe.
A 1-1/2 x 5-1/4 strip of Tasty Treats Designer Paper was placed down the left side.
The 3 x 4-1/4 piece of Whisper White was stamped with the speckle image in Dragonfly Dreams twice with Pool Party full strength and twice with Tip Top Taupe stamped off. The corners were rounded with the Project Life Corner Rounder.
A 1/2 x 3-3/4 piece of Basic Black cardstock was added underneath the left side.
Some Pool Party 3/8″ Stitched Satin Ribbon was tied around the Whisper White and knotted.
The greeting from Dragonfly Dreams was stamped with Memento Black Ink. The Whisper White layer was added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The strip of dragonflies from the Detailed Dragonfly Thinlets were cut from both Pool Party and Tip Top Taupe cardstock, then cut apart two of them, overlapped and glued them together, then placed on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
To finish off the dragonflies, the wings were colored with Clear Wink of Stella and two Rhinestone Jewels added to the bodies of each.
