CCMC348 Nature’s Perfection

As I mentioned before, I love the new Sale-A-Bration set, Nature’s Perfection! It was added to the SAB lineup in March and I couldn’t resist! It has flowers! So, I decided to use it for the Create with Connie and Mary color challenge this week! Isn’t it pretty?

Here’s my card:

Here are the details:

The base is 4 1/4 x 11 Rose Red, folded in half.
The 4 x 5 1/4 layer of Soft Sky is embossed with the Large Polka Dots folder.
Across the front, the Sahara Sand lace ribbon was placed and adhered to the back.
A Deco Label Framelit cut Sahara Sand cardstock and the leaf image from Nature’s Perfection was stamped with Sahara Sand Ink on the right side, and the greeting from Lovely Amazing You stamp set was stamped with Tuxedo Black on the left. I love the script fonts in that set!
The flower from Nature’s Perfection was stamped twice with Rose Red Ink on Rose Red, then the entire flower cut out and the center of the second flower was cut and placed in the center with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The butterfly from the same Nature’s Perfection was stamped with Soft Sky on Whisper White, then punched with the Butterfly Punch.
Pearls were added to the center of the flower and for the butterfly’s body.

I need to send a card to someone who needs a little sunshine in their life! Of course, I pulled out my trusty Beautiful Bunch stamp set and favorite background set, Kinda Eclectic. With as many Christmas and Fall cards that I’ve made lately, it felt good to use a flower set again!

Here are the details:

The base is 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 Old Olive, folded in half.
On the 4 x 5 1/4 layer of Whisper White, I stamped the polka dot background stamp in Stampin’ Up!’s Kinda Eclectic with Calypso Coral ink. Over that I stamped the sunburst with Hello Honey Ink. The greeting was stamped with Old Olive ink.
I used my Daffodil Delight Blendabilities Markers to color the Beautiful Bunch flower, then punched with the Fun Flower punch. I colored the center with the Old Olive Blendabilities and punched with the 7/8″ Scallop Circle Punch, then used a Dimensional to pop it up in the center of the flower.
I tied a double bow with the Old Olive Bakers Twine and added it with a Mini Glue dot to my flower.

Very simple, but love the coloring with Blendabilities on the CAS background! Don’t forget…today’s the last day of my 40% Adhesive Sale! Don’t miss out!

CCMC-SUM14 Week 4 Beautiful Bunch

Oh, wow! It’s the LAST day of the Create with Connie and Mary Summer Collection! Can you believe it? Where did the time go? It always goes by SO fast! Although I must admit, I’ve had my projects and cards done for several weeks because of getting ready for the Create LIVE event…I didn’t think I’d survive doing both at the same time! lol!

Anyway…the awesome Design Team has used this color combination for the Week 4 challenge:

Of course…I’m using Beautiful Bunch again! I love how Lost Lagoon looks stamped on Whisper White to make this flower! Here are the details:

The base is 4 1/4 x 11 Lost Lagoon folded in half.
I stamped the bottom 2/3s of the front with Hardwood Background Stamp with Lost Lagoon ink.
The pennant from the Pennant Die is cut from Sahara Sand cardstock.
I stamped the greeting from A Dozen Thoughts with Mossy Meadow on the pennant, then wrapped the Lost Lagoon Stitched Ribbon around the front and adhered in the back.
The Beautiful Bunch flower is stamped twice with Lost Lagoon on Whisper White and punched with the Fun Flower Punch. I stamped the center with Mossy Meadow on Mossy Meadow cardstock and punched with the 7/8″ Scallop Circle Punch. I added a Rhinestone Jewel for some bling. It is popped up on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I stamped the flower again with Mossy Meadow on Mossy Meadow cardstock and cut two of the petals for leaves, then tucked them behind the flower.

CCMC197 – Poppy Flower

We have a FUN sketch for you to try over on Create with Connie and Mary this week…a nice clean and simple one! Let's see how YOU interpret it! Our Challenge Team has done a fabulous job with it…amazing that each card is so different! Check them out over at Create with Connie and Mary!

And here is my card. I've been wanting to do a 3D poppy flower with the Blossom Punch in the Occasions Mini! Can you tell what other punches I used to make it?

I started with a base card of Real Red. I layered on Basic Black and then Whisper White that I ran thru the Big Shot with the Finial Press Impressions Folder on top. Over the bottom portion of the Whisper White, I layered the red stripe pattern from Letters to Santa! I think this DSP has such elegant patterns…they are good for more than just Christmas! To hid the seam, I punched the Old Olive cardstock with the Dotted Scallop Border Punch and laid it across. I cut the smallest Label Framelit from Basic Black, the stamped You Inspire Me from the hostess set, Perfect Words, and punched it with the Large Oval to layer on top. I like the unusual greetings in that set!

OK…ready? For the poppy. The bottom layer of the flower is Cherry Cobbler, then a layer of Real Red on top…both of those were punched with the Blossom Punch in the mini and I cut slits between the petals towards the center to give them more movement. Then I punched 3 of the Modern Label Punch from Poppy Parade and layered those on top of each other, then placed in the middle of the Real Red layer…together they are slightly smaller than the Blossom Punch so it layers nicely. I spritzed it all with water and crumbled it up. The center…is the Snowflake punch, two of them, from Basic Black. And in the very center of that is the Boho Blossom star flower from Daffodil Delight, slit up between each petal to the center. I scrunched the snowflakes and the star flower tightly and used a mini glue dots to adhere it to the top layer of the red flowers. Finally, I used the leaf die to cut out the Old Olive, and slightly crumbled them and adhered with a couple of the mini glue dots.

Isn't that a pretty flower? Probably one of those cards that are better given in person than put in the mail. So…grab your stamps and play along! Upload your creation over on Create with Connie and Mary! We love to see your work!
