CS237 – Springtime Scenes

Our Creatively Simple theme this month is “Critters or insects”! I’m loving this theme!

SPRINGTIME SCENES

I had forgotten to get this Ladybug Picnic Embossing Folder on my first preorder, so just picked it up recently!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Bubble Bath cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Strawberry Slush cardstock was embossed with the Ladybug Picnic EF and added to the front.
A 1-1/4 x 5-1/4 strip of Homemade Sweetness DSP was added down the right side.
A 1 x 4-1/4 strip of Basic Black was adhered next to it.
The circle was cut with the Springtime Scenes Die from Basic White cardstock and stamped with the Springtime Scenes greeting in Strawberry Slush Ink.
The leaf was cut with the Die from Old Olive cardstock and added under the greeting with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The ladybug was stamped with Memento Black Ink on scrap Basic White and colored with Strawberry Slush and Basic Black Stampin’ Blends. It was added to the leaf with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Some Linen Thread was tied in a bow and added to the leaf.
A trio of Strawberries & Dots were added to the background.

Saturday Blog Hop – New Beginnings

Happy New Year everyone! It is the start of new beginnings, isn’t it? I wish for you a lovely year!

We are starting off the new year with the Create with Connie and Mary Saturday Blog Hop featuring “New Beginnings”…cards that use products from the January-June Mini Catalog! How appropriate! I had to pull out the Hello Ladybug Stamp Set and punch for this card!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Real Red cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
The 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Crumb Cake was stamped with the circle from Watercolor Shapes in Real Red Ink randomly in the background.
A 2-3/4 x 4 piece of Sweet Talk Designer Paper was added towards the right side.
A 1 x 4 strip of Real Red cardstock was added on top, then a 1/8 x 4 strip of Basic Black on top of it!
The ladybug body was stamped with Memento Black Ink and the wings with Real Red Ink, the spots with Memento Black Ink on Basic White cardstock. It was punched with the Ladybug Builder Punch.
The leaf was stamped with Granny Apple Green Ink on Basic White cardstock and hand-cut, then added on the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
The ladybug was added to the leaf with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Hello was stamped with Memento Black Ink on a 1/4 x 1-1/2 strip of Basic White and cut with a flag end. It was tucked under the leaf and over the Basic Black strip.
A Red Rhinestone was added to the leaf.

I also made up some gifts for a few stamping friends and downline using the same idea/layout and covered one of our stamping cases. Inside I filled with a Simply Shammy and wrapped up in a cello bag with a Christmas tag and ribbon. They can keep this stamp cleaner on their stamping desk all year round!

That new ladybug set is SO much fun to use with the punch! Makes it very easy to create! OK, next up on our blog hop is our Create with Connie and Mary website, then on to creative Mary Brown, or head backwards to see Melissa Davies’ fabulous project and see what everyone did with this challenge!

Wiggle Worm

Hi everyone!!! I am usually so busy with blogging for our Create with Connie and Mary challenges that I don’t get a chance to blog some of my other cards. I have SEVERAL swap cards I’ve made that I haven’t shared! So, here is the first one using Wiggle Worm that I did for the Stampin’ Up! Trip Achievers Swap!

WIGGLE WORM BUNDLE

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Old Olive cardstock, scored at 5-1/2 and folded.
On top is a 3-1/2 x 4-3/4 layer of Shaded Spruce cardstock.
The 3-1/8 x 4-5/8 layer of Whisper White cardstock has a 2 x 3-1/8 piece of Garden Lane Designer Paper added to the bottom.
The grass was cut with the Wiggle Bugs Die from Shaded Spruce cardstock and placed across the seam.
Cute as a Bug was stamped with Memento Black Ink and the clouds with Mint Macaron.
The ladybug was stamped with Memento Black Ink on scrap Whisper White cardstock, colored with Poppy Parade Stampin’ Blends and cut with the Wiggle Bugs die. She was popped up in the grass with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
A Real Red Rhinestone jewel was added next to the greeting!

That Wiggle Worm set is really one of my favorites! You’ll see a couple more swap cards I did using this bundle, too!
