CS197 – Sunrise Sailing

It’s a new month and for the month of June we are featuring “masks”. There are SO many different ways to mask!

SUNRISE SAILING

Here’s a second type of masking that I called Reverse Masking. Place the mask shape down and then brush the ink around the edges. I also did a third type of masking…torn edge…on this card. It’s similar to my straight edge card from last week but uses a torn edge!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Misty Moonlight cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
I punched a 2″ circle from scrap paper and laid it on top of the 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Cloud Cover cardstock towards the left side. I used a Blending Brush to add Cloud Cover Ink around the edges…brushing from inside the mask circle to the outside.
The greeting was stamped with Misty Moonlight Ink in the upper right corner.
I tore a piece of copy paper across the top and placed it above the area I wanted to make the waves. I used a Blending Brush to add the Cloud Cover Ink across the bottom, then stamped the long waves image with Cloud Cover Ink over top, tone-on-tone.
The sailboat was stamped with Misty Moonlight ink on Basic White cardstock and the stripes with Cloud Cover Ink. It was cut with the Die and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The boat hull was colored with Cloud Cover Stampin’ Blends.
The cloud was cut from Basic White cardstock with the Die and added to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Cardstock: Basic White, Cloud Cover, Misty Moonlight

Grateful Bunch

I have a couple thank you notes to send out and when I saw the Global Design Project’s theme challenge GDP027 this week is Thank you, I decided to play along with them!

I’ve had a monochromatic theme in my head to do a floral theme using Grateful Bunch and Sahara Sand and Black…then I decided it needed a pop of color, so I added Melon Mambo!

Here are the details:

The base is 4-1/4 x 11 Melon Mambo folded in half.
On top is a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Timeless Elegance Designer Paper.
On the 3-1/2 x 4-3/4 layer of Sahara Sand, the Grateful Bunch leaves and flowers were stamped with Black Archival Ink. In the centers are It’s My Party Enamel Dots.
A bow of Melon Mambo/Basic Black Baker’s twine is tied in a bow and added to the stem with a Mini Glue Dot.
The greeting, also from Grateful Bunch, is stamped with Melon Mambo.

That’s it…totally CAS. I almost wanted to try to whitewash the flowers and leaves, but decided to just leave it alone. lol!

SUOC68 Secret Garden

We have a FUN challenge for you on SUO Challenges…create with a Monochromatic look! I don't think I've ever set out just to make a Monochromatic card! Yesterday's French Foliage card was monochromatic and green, too! I must be on a kick with green (maybe because we aren't seeing a lot of green around in Ohio yet! I know…I keep whining about wanting SPRING to get here! lol!)

But…here's my take on a monochromatic look.

Here are the details:

Base is 4 1/4 x 11 Whisper White, folded in half.
Layer is 3 3/4 x 5 Lucky Limeade cardstock, stamp 3 Secret Garden leaves with Lucky Limeade Ink on the front, stems together.
Cut 3 small flowers from Vellum Cardstock with the Secret Garden Framelits.
Punch three 1/2" Circles from Lucky Limeade Patterns Designer Paper and add to center of flowers.
Add Pearls to Centers.
Stamp Here's To You from Friendly Phrases (oops! thanks for catching that!) in Lucky Limeade on Whisper White, punch with Ticket Duo Punch.
Tie Whisper White Taffeta Ribbon in a bow, add to front with Mini Glue Dot.

Clean and classy, huh? I think it fits the monochromatic theme pretty good!!!
