CCMC705 – Let’s Set Sail

Hello! It’s Thursday and you know that means it is time for a Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge. Today is a fun sketch…my card came together really quickly!

LET’S SET SAIL

I didn’t think I needed this Let’s Set Sail bundle, but the Sailboat Builder Punch kept calling my name, so I broke down and got it!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Balmy Blue cardstock, scored at 4-1/4. The front portion only was embossed with the Bark Embossing Folder (I love that it looks like waves!)
A 1 x 5-1/2 strip of Misty Moonlight cardstock was added across the front.
The large Scallop Rectangle was cut with the Scalloped Contours Dies from Basic White cardstock.
The bottom of the rectangle was stamped with the “water” and Balmy Blue Ink. The shadow of the boat and greeting with Misty Moonlight Ink. The boat mast and birds were stamped with Early Espresso Ink and the sails with Bumblebee Ink.
A 1″ stitched circle from Picture This Dies cut from Daffodil Delight cardstock for the sun, and the small cloud from Brilliant Rainbow Dies and Basic White cardstock, both popped up with Stampin’ Dimensionals, complete the card!

This card is perfect for any water enthusiast! I ended up not even using the Sailboat punch, lol! Go check out what the rest of the Challenge Team did with this sketch challenge over on Create with Connie and Mary!

Saturday Blog Hop – Punch Art

This week’s blog hop theme is Punch Art! This theme is one of my favorites! I can’t wait to see what everyone came up with! I used to run monthly Punch Art Classes and they were always SO much fun!

SAILBOAT

I combined my need for a masculine birthday card with our Punch Art theme and made a sailboat using the Ice Cream Cone Punch for the sails! I love the small prints in the Well Suited Designer Paper, but hadn’t used it until now!

Stampin’ Details:

The base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 Basic Gray cardstock, scored at 4-1/4 and folded.
On top is a 4 x 5-1/4 layer of Poppy Parade cardstock.
The 3-3/4 x 5 layer of Basic White was inked with Seaside Spray Ink using the Blending Brushes around the edges.
The water was create cutting a 1-1/2 x 5 piece of Seaside Spray cardstock with the Curvy Dies, then embossing it with the Old World Paper Embossing Folder. It was adhered to the bottom of the Basic White.
Happy Birthday from Peaceful Moments stamp set was stamped with Basic Gray Ink.
The boat was cut with the Layering Circles from Poppy Parade cardstock, then cut in half and added to the water.
A pole was cut from Early Espresso cardstock and added to the front.
The sails were punched with the Ice Cream Cone Punch from Well Suited DSP and added with Stampin’ Dimensionals next to the pole.
The small heart was cut from Poppy Parade with the Kangaroo Dies and added with a Mini Stampin’ Dimensional.
Two silver Metal Pearls were added to the boat.

Hello Sailor favor

Each week during Card "Create"tions 2014 over on Create with Connie and Mary, we'll be showing little favors that match the card set we did for the week! I used Stampin' Up!'s Hello Sailor this week and came up with this for my favor! I was kind of going for a "sailboat" look…without the sails! lol! But I think it turned out pretty cute!

Here's what I did:

The base is the Petite Purse cut out of Pacific Point cardstock, and turned upside down. (I added a score line 1" from the existing one on the lid and adhered the lid inside, then turned upside down and cut the bottom in half, those make the flaps on the side.)
I added 1/2" strips of High Tide Designer Paper in the blue stripe pattern on the flaps and adhered them to the sides.
I stamped Hello Sailor with Smoky Slate on Summer Starfruit, then cut a flag end.
I stamped the Anchor with Smoky Slate on Whisper White and punched with the 3/4" Circle and layered on a 1" Circle of Smoky Slate cardstock. That is popped up on the front with a Stampin' Dimensional. I also added a Candy Dot to it.
I stamped Best Mate with Pacific Point ink on the Chalk Talk Framelit tag of Whisper White.
Inside the bag are lifesavors and I tied the bag closed with the 1 1/4 Striped Grosgrain Ribbon.
